LL Premier Pass is here!

I don’t know that this is solely on people being impatient. Disney has designed it this way, that spending large amounts of time in queues feels like a poor use of limited time. Both with the design of their parks and how heavy they are with non ride activities, and how they have created an entire self contained resort vacation.

When most people go to Six Flags, they’re going for a day or 2 at a time with the sole purpose of getting in, riding rides, and getting out. Disney however, is full of in park entertainment, exploring (some parks more than others), dining experiences, and their resorts and other outside of the park gates activities that can impede park time. I don’t think it’s all on impatience. I think it’s a drive to fit everything in that people want on their one vacation. I think this is particularly glaring at WDW vs any of the other parks around the world.

It shouldn’t be surprising that an expensive and crowded vacation destination, marketed as a quintessential part of childhood (and adulthood lol), with enough options to choose from to easily fill a single vacation, has people feeling the pressure to not spend their limited time queuing.

Oh for sure not all impatience. I just meant I can see that playing a part. I agree that a Disney trip for many is much higher cost and a “vacation” rather than just a local park that you might go on a weekend. People want to try to see everything they can in their limited time as they aren’t sure when they will be back.

Right but also don't fully agree. Because some of the things you listed hold no interest to me. We don't do meet and greets, we don't line up for parades nor shows, we don't spend tons of time at the hotel, we don't do a whole lot of dining either and certainly not to the degree that many fret over here on the DIS, QS is totally fine for us. So just because Disney has stuff out there doesn't mean the pressure is there to use them and then skip the lines in order to experience them.

I just mostly hate how Disney only lets a few through the line on Standby (something they did with MaxPass so this isn't new), I'd be fine waiting in a line, but waiting 50% to 100% more than the posted wait time when I entered the line because the line stopped moving because people are being let in the LL and even when there isn't guests coming in the LL the line doesn't move is bound to frustrate even the most patient of people. And that is not my experience at other parks.

Agreed but unique to Disney is they got into a habit of giving FP+ away to placate guests for minor offenses or no offenses at all. So it's not just about wanting a quicker way through the line and being impatient but also how Disney framed how they used their product in the past. People simply got used to having it for multiple reasons. And they never improved on that guest experience so people still are unhappy.

Are prices up for 10/30? Can anyone see them? I can't find them in the app.

edit: never mind, whole site is down

I thought you could purchase them 7 days out, so I'd be buying today for 10/30.
I booked Lightning Lanes for clients at a Deluxe Resort this morning, and the Premier Pass did not show as an option. Could be because the system is wonky today, but I'm also wondering if they aren't going to start selling them until 10/30. Kind of like what they did with Multi Pass...it went on sale AND started on the same day.

You will be able to purchase once they are available on October 30th. It is following the same process as the LLMP and/or LLSP launch on July 24th. So LLPP will be available on October 30th for same day and for 7 days in advance in a rolling window.

I come from the perspective of having visited Disney many times throughout the paper FP runner era and only once during FP+, and lots of Universal trips using hotel express and/or single rider. Despite being Type A, I'm pretty good at being bored and am the person daydreaming instead of on my phone in waiting rooms, etc.

But the theme parks have trained me that if I am more clever, more informed, maybe more privileged (or careful at budgeting and making up the $$ elsewhere), I can make my experience and most importantly my family and friends' experience better. I don't have to be the mom who told me she hated Disney because they waited two hours for Peter Pan at Christmas. (She had money and would have totally bought the premier pass, had it existed and someone had told her about it. I doubt she knew about VIP tours.) If there was never a FP, express, etc, I would happily accept theme parks without it, but it's difficult to go back.

The thing that stinks about Premier Passes going on sale AND starting on 10/30 is that 1) Premier Passes will be very limited, so it's possible that not everyone who wants one will get one; 2) We know how launch days go, so there's really no guarantee that it will be loaded right away on 10/30, that it will work the way it's supposed to, etc. For trips beginning at least 7 days after 10/30, people will be able to switch gears if they can't get a Premier Pass and purchase LLMP and ILL$ instead if necessary. But those people trying to use it on 10/30 are at a distinct disadvantage. If it doesn't go smoothly and they can't get a Premier Pass, there won't be any good LLMP and ILL$ left for the day to pivot to.

I asked about this, and you can do both, so as crazy as it is, you can do your LLMP/ILL$ at the 7 day window, then add on the LLPP on 10/30 and there is not a conflict between the two.

Sorry but that is the same gloom and doom that we all expected on July 24th when LLMP and/or LLSP launched. It never happened as it was a very easy launch.

And as @jwalker79 just posted anyone planning for 10/30 should have booked today. LLPP would just be a bonus on 10/30 and 99% chance that they could be refunded for any LLMP and/or LLSP selections.

I asked about that, and yes you can do that, but there's no guarantee you'd get a refund if you wanted to drop your LLMP and ILL$ after purchasing Premier Pass.

Some launches are smooth. Some are not. It's a gamble. Plus there's the added layer that we have no idea how many Premier Passes will be available on any given day, only that it will be very limited. And the official line is that LLMP and ILL$ are nonrefundable, but of course, YMMV on that. People wanting to purchase in the early days are just going to have to decide for themselves if the risk is worth it.
