I went in to make FP+ selections and noticed Living with the Land as a top tier choice. We went to Epcot in May 2014 and remember waiting less than 5 minutes for this attraction. What happened? We're headed back in late August and my son wants to do the "Behind the Seeds tour". They suggesting riding LWTL before the tour, but if it's really gotten that popular, do I need to use my FP for it to avoid a long line???

I wouldn't use my FP for it. I think most people were getting one for it when it was Tier 2 because of its proximity to Soarin' and that there are so few Tier 2 options there worth getting one for. I've never waited more than a few minutes. Even right now on the 4th it's listed as 20 minutes.

Most of the time, the attraction is typically a walk-on. We love it though! It can get crowded at times, but it seems to be only when a small line begins before or after lunch and then everyone walking by becomes roped in due to seeing others get in line -- crazy how human behavior works! I wouldn't FP+ it unless you are burning a slot. If it is busy, come back 45-60 minutes later and it will probably be back to normal.

I will be going probably first thing in the morning. Thanks!

I think the consensus is that Living With the Land is a Tier 1 FP ONLY because they have to have one Tier 1 choice with no height restrictions or health warnings that everyone in the family can ride AND that will still allow for something to be available last minute in Tier 1 (when all the TT/Soarin/Illuminations FPs are long gone). I've never seen a long line there, and I wouldn't use my Tier 1 FP on it unless you absolutely don't want any of the other choices.

I think GMR is in Tier 1 at DHS for the same reasons.

I think it also happened because people struggled with a 3rd selection for FP+. A lot chose Living with the Land and then it became a tier 1 due to perceived demand.

I'm hoping that when the frozen ride debuts it being a tier one will bump Living with the land back down to tier 2.

We always did Test Track, land, spaceship earth. But moving living with the land up messed that up.

As far as wait times, living with the land is normally walk on-10 min wait. At times though it will get up to 30-45 min. Around Christmas time I think it was I saw it at 95 minutes. Almost took a picture of that lol

When we were there a couple of weeks ago there was a 60 minute wait once and and 45 minute wait another. We were there on a CL 7 day, but I really think The Land line is long because of people coming off of Soarin and finishing meals.

Back in October we did Soarin' then immediately went to Living With The Land which had a zero wait. I wouldn't use a FastPass for it.

Yes them changing the tiers messed that up for us to. We are doing behind the seeds tour but are using that tier for Test Track and going to just wait in line for living with the land. Now we are having to choose the seas with nemo for our 2nd tier ride which usually doesnt need a FP+ either :confused3

Shows that Disney is not updating EPCOT at a rate even close to price increases. Nice ride, but it is a sad commentary on EPCOT when the land is a tier 1 choice!

I would not FP for it. You won't wait more than 20 minutes even during peak times.

It's a lack of attractions to even have FP's for at Epcot that bumps it up to tier 1 - just so it's not just TT and Soarin'. It hasn't suddenly become more popular after all these years. And that's good - we ride it every trip and enjoy it, but don't need a FP.

This isn't the case anymore. During peak periods it commonly reaches 30 min or more. As I said before in the thread, I've seen it at an hour and a half before.

It's usually a walk on, but sometimes it does get packed. So someone shouldn't get taken back if they go to check it out and see a big line

I also think that some of the slower loading rides, like the Land and Great Movie Ride, are set at Tier 1. You need to limit access to slow loading rides, especially if popular; otherwise, they will run out of FP+ too quickly and the lines will always be long. However, the Land and GMR really are not that popular. Epcot really needs the Froway to open ASAP. Hopefully, the extra capacity at Soarin' will help soon (within a year) too.
