Living Seas is there another exit besides the enclosed elevator type doors

Hi: At the living seas, can you leave another way besides going thru the elevator type door. I have a problem with being in small enclosed places and need another exit out of the living seas or I cannot go into the attraction.

Living Seas is undergoing rehab right now. I believe when it's finished they are changing the entrance/exit for the attraction. I don't know what it means for the hydrolators though.

Ask a Cast member near the attraction. They may be able to take you in through "real doors".

Okay thanks, I guess I had better check the rehabs section to see what is under rehab in dec, I didn't even think of that, as we are going in a couple of weeks.

It was open today. You just enter through regular doors now. I don't know if that'll be changing in the future since it looks like they're still doing some refurbishment, but for now they're regular doors.

Looked at that link.... I am upset!!! I was hoping the seacabs would be up and running at this point!! Guess we will have to wait till next year!

Hi: I am just trying to refresh my mind as it was ten years ago that I went in the living seas. Were the hydrolators at the end of the attraction? I am glad that they are gone.

10 years ago, the attraction was like this:

1) Queue area showing antique diving equipment
2) Preshow presented by United Technologies
3) Movie showing creation of earths oceans
4) Hydrolators down to Sea Base Alpha
5) Sea Cabs ride to main aquarium area (bypass available for wheelchairs)
6) Aquariums/shops/ Sea Base Alpha area
7) Another set of hydrolators to exit

If Sea Base Alpha were really "down somewhere" you would have to ride the hydrolators down and then back up to exit.

The hydrolators did add a touch of magic (are adults too old for magic?) to Living Seas, but they increased delays when it was crowded. But maybe the effect was a beneficial crowd control as someone reported that Living Seas was mobbed recently.

They might be able to keep the hydrolators "going down" to the sea cab ride and later the guests would either forget that they really should "come back up" before exiting via the new regular doors, or assume that the sea cabs performed the ascent to "the new" Sea Base level.

Even prior to the rehab, the CM's at Living Seas were very very claustrophobic-friendly.

I asked to leave the wait area and decided to skip the attraction. An older gentlemen INSISTED that I couldn't leave without seeing Crush, and while he took me through the back route which bypassed the hydrolators, he also insisted on letting me stand at the back of the Crush show.

Then he had someone waiting to escort me out another back way and skip the exit hydrolators.

He was very sweet and even though I kept protesting that I was ok just to leave, he would make sure that I enjoyed my morning!! (It was very quiet and empty at Epcot that day)

I assume that the ongoing rehab will result in some form of the seacabs and/or hydrolators in future; in that case I would also just ask....
