According to "The Passporter's Field Guide to the Disney Cruise Line", The Captain's Gala is only on 7+ night cruises. I'm fairly certain that our formal night will be on Sunday, Sept. 30th, while we are at sea.:boat:
:offtopic: I hope that I have included everybody that has expressed interest in participating in the FE gift exchange, on my spreadsheet. If anybody finds an error on my spreadsheet, please let me know about it.

thanks, nonniepaddie -- for the answer and the spreadsheet.

I'm new to the "meet group" thing. Is there normally a gathering on the ship on embarkation day? It'd be great if the DD(12) and DS(9) can find some friends to spend time with.

Thanks again!

Welcome to the group, I am glad you found us. :) My older daughter is thrilled to hear there will be another 12 year old girl with us. I do think we are planning a meet, but nothing is set in stone yet.

You have our two staterooms listed and we only need to do One cabin - we don't have to be treated as two as we will have 1 extender, if that makes sense??

I saw you are from OH. I am originally from Medina, OH but we live in Celebration, FL now. I have been in FL for a little over 12 years.

The spreadsheet is awesome! Matthew is also in the 0-3 range but listing him as 4-6 is fine with me. Oh and we are confirmed main seating now if anyone can change that? Thanks :)

On the subject of FE...whatever is decided is fine with us. Doing the FE was one of the highlights of our Magic cruise. If a meet up is planned we will try and be there also.

sandy,
our room number is 6530 category 05D on deck 6. would you update the FE list? what is your opinion about the dolphin swim at grand cayman? i am thinking about it for us (girls are 9 and 6) and me and DH. is it worth the cost? thoughts?

Updated.

Sunday is the formal and Thursday is semi-formal.

I think it's time we come to a decision about a meet. If I recall correctly there were two recommended locations. Has anybody been on the Fantasy or Dream that can make a recommendation? Does 3:00pm on embarkation day make sense?

Lizzie is listed as 4-6 on Nonniepaddie's list. She should be under 0-3, she will be 4 months old. (ECJ922, 5190). Just one more month until our cruise!!

Mom and dad got their room assignment (TaniaU 2) they're in 7592. Nice upgrade for them :)

They're just a few doors down from us.

I thought you had to be 6 months old to sail? I only ask because we waited until our daughter was 6 months old to sail last year! The nursery was really great with her and we were happy to get a dinner out!

Ignore me - my daughter was 5 months on her first sailing... LOL

You only have to be 12 weeks on Disney. My daughter was supposed to be 12 weeks on our cruise last year, but she came earlier than expected. She was 3 months when we boarded and the youngest on the ship! She did great. Babies are so easy, but, oh my, at almost 2 years, I might need a solo trip to Serenity bay!!!

As for splitting, I hope that we don't have to,but if we do, can we opt to be in both groups? I have already bought and planned for the current amount. The 8/29 deadline is perfect.

I'm fine with that ! Unfortunately I don't know the new ships ?
Simply by checking out the Fantasy decks plan, I see Bon Voyage on Deck 3 :
http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/fantasy/nightclubs-lounges/bon-voyage/

Or

Deck 13 Forward is Currents : http://disneycruise.disney.go.com/ships-activities/ships/fantasy/nightclubs-lounges/currents/

There are several lounges....but several are "adults only" and I know there are many children in our large group.

I'm open to any suggestions. I know on the Magic we've had meets on the Promenade Lounge on deck 3.

Hello! As I mentioned, a few weeks ago, I moved my cruise from the 22nd to the 29th and changed threads. The previous group had planned the following based on feedback from other threads as well as from people who had been on the Fantasy and found this to be the most convenient location (lots of seating, close to lobby). I am pasting the info below (updated with our dates) for our potential meet location and follow-up photo. Does this sound like it might work for our group?

Onboard Dis Meet and Group Photo:
Dis Meet is embarkation day Saturday 9/29 at 3PM.
Location: Vista Cafe and adjacent area on Deck 4 overlooking the Atrium lobby. You can purchase drinks at this location and they have free pastries.
Photo: Group photo immediately following the meet at 3:30PM on the Staircase and Atrium lobby.
