Livin on a Fantasy!! September 29, 2012 Disney Fantasy

How was everyone's weekend? Mine went too fast! LOL...

I did win $50 in our office pool with the game last night. You know where that's going? Right into our Buzz bank to save up!

Michelle-I hope you are feeling much better!!! :flower3:

Hello to all! :wave2:

Considering the Giants won, the weekend was great. And I won $54 in the pool I was in (my office doesn't do pools. Heck most of the guys that work here don't even own TVs).

Hey all long time no talk!! Being a Store Manager in retail during the holidays makes your life nonexistant!!! :lmao: Anyway I just wanted to update some of our info. We have upgraded our room and are now on deck 10!!! Room 10132 to be exact. We are very excited and cant believe we are already in February! Cant wait until we start online check in and booking all of the stuff we want!!

Tink - what kind of store? It's funny, because I'm in retail also, but the IT end. The holidays are quiet for us, because we tend to freeze major changes to our website during the holiday season.

I am the store Manager of a Claire's boutique. It's an accessories and such store if you havent heard of it lol. We had so much going on and some new staff and alot of floor sets and changes. They dictated to me what my schedule was going to be so it made it really tough with my husbands schedule and our two little boys :confused3 But thats life right!! Hahaha we cant wait for this vacation though, we all really need it! Actually we just went into to Target (where the hubby is a Senior Manager) and bought 75 gift cards to put towards the cruise! :woohoo:

I know we still have loads of time..but are we going to have an FE signon cutoff date?
I usually only start buying/gathering stuff after I have a concrete number of peeps/kids/ages etc....

Just wondering....

Thanks!

Also another quickie.....when I look at the FE list on our awesome website that Michelle did...what does "SM???" mean?

:)

stands for secret Mickey...some people do this...basically if you do, as it gets about a month or so out...I will take the names doing the SM and draw names and assign a person to each participant of those doing it. Then it's like secret santa...you get that family something , maybe $25 or so tops and then secretively give it to them or gifts daily. How alot of people do it is find the person's stateroom person and ask them to put it in your persons room....

All my other cruises we have done 30 days prior....but it's up to everyone. 45 days if people want. I get some of mine done for the girls now. So I have a bunch ahead of time!!!

OH! So for our group, is it on top of FE? Or instead of?
I have heard that if some FE groups get too big, then sometimes a SM is done instead.

On our last cruise we had I think like 12-14 cabins/rooms to do. It was a nice small group, but I've seen groups on the boards that are like 30, 50+! That would be too much for me, so I could see how a SM would work.

No the SM is in addition. An SM is only buying for one family. As for the size of the FE, it will have to be a group desicion whether to split or not. I have had FE list as small as 20 cabins to 42 cabins. I didn't find that unreasonable. I think I made gifts for over 100 cruisers.

I have a few ideas, trying to make for this cruise and for my christmas cruise in 2013. I find starting now since sometimes I make the gifts works best cause we are an on the go family with Dance competition and soccer and well everything. I have the girls idea, something for boys( they are hard) and then something for the parents. Now just to make everything.

Ok, got it! Thanks for explaining. I'm not crafty, so we end up buying stuff so that's why for us, we might have to drop out if the group for FE gets too big :guilty:

We have a while to see anyway, I'm sure more will jump on board as the next few months go by.

I agree it can be alot. I think I have a total of 40 or under cabins is my idea of O.K. I figure we see how big the group gets and if it's 50 or more then split it. I wouldn't want someone missing out cause of size. What is your top # of cabins you could do?

it's our first cruise and we are soooooo excited i will be sailing with my parents, sister, husband and our 3 children ages 7, 2, and a few months... not sure how many just yet :) can't wait! :cheer2::cheer2:

Welcome to the cruise and welcome to the DIS. Love the screen name.

Loved the form! You'll have to teach me how to do that. I use use Google docs A LOT and never created a form.

Can you add one other thing possibly? If the cruiser is interested in linking their dining?

hmmm....Don't worry about us missing out, we really like to do the FE, but I'd say if the FE group goes over 20 cabins, we would have to bow out....

I'm going to go fill out the form now on our website! So excited to check it out....hey! Does anyone know when the Fantasy is in NYC? I thought it was today....but now I'm thinking I'm wrong..

You're off by a week. It comes in next Tuesday. I plan to come into the city early and go over to the water terminal on 39th street and photograph her coming up the Hudson.

I am so excited, I get to go to a cast event welcoming the Fantasy home to Florida on March 6. Can't wait to get that first glimpse of her.

I have some bad news, at least for me. As you may all hear on the news, the USPS talks are happening with maybe losing Sat delivery...nothing has been committed to but since DH works for USPS and things seem unsure right now, and this will effect his income drastically. We are moving our cruise out till Dec 2013. This gives us time to have it paid off and not feel stressed. Sorry that I am moving on ya'all...if anyone wants to take over keeping track of the info I can email you the documents I have. Sorry to ditch all of you. Hope you have a grande time and keep her in good shape for my 2013 Xmas cruise please!!
