Live Trip Updates From Disney w/ Photos!

Thank you so much - I can't wait to go back with you in Nov and Dec :woohoo:

I especially enjoyed the story about meeting your wife and I found it very refreshing that you waited until you were married to move in.

Thanks for sharing your trip and incredible pics - I am kind of sad it's over. :guilty:

Before we even saw your caption, DH quite loudly bemoaned the parrot's absence!
Evidently, all true buccaneers will miss the squawker!

For everyong mourning the loss of the parrot. . . here's a little live audio to remember him by

OP - some amazing pictures you have there! I had a photography class in college and you're making want to pull my old SLR out and practice with it again!

B) A couple near me at a parade had hired a Disney CM to spend the day with them and tell them all about WDW. I overhead them talking while waiting for a parade, and the CM told them that WDW has more lightning rods than any place in the world. Many times they are obvious but many times they are hidden. My wife and I began looking and it's as fun as looking for Hidden Mickeys. Look at Main St USA and see the tops of the buildings with the flag poles and you see lighting rods! Also, many buildings have lighting rods (about 6 inches tall) about every 4 feet. They are all over the place. I'd bet that WDW has over 100,000 lightning rods on the property.

Just another little tidbit about the lighting rods at Disney: I know you were discussing Magic Kingdom but (change of park here) when you walk into MGM and you see the Mickey at the top of crossroads, that will be the only Mickey you will find that has a tilted head. His ear is a lightening rod.

Thanks for replying to my post. I'm glad that you and your wife had such a great trip. Thanks for sharing the EXIF data, can't wait to see more.

One more question, how did you take your camera on Splash? I'd be scared to get my camera or my lens wet!

Well, with my new camera (Nikon D200) it's not an issue. However, in the past, I took the shot quickly and then just tucked it under my shirt.

However, with my current camera (Nikon D200) it is made of Magnesium Alloy and the body is completely sealed from the elements.

VERY VERY cool piece of information! Thanks!

Again, THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH for the fabulous trip report and pictures. Thank you and DW for taking us along on your trip. Thank you to your wife for allowing us to be included.
I also love the story of your meeting and marrying! How fabulous! WDW is indeed a magical place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :wizard: :wizard:

Thank you so much for providing us with a glimpse of your WDW trip. I sat here this morning and read through the entire post and almost missed my DD's bus for her first day of school. We go to WDW in 85 days and it gave me a little boost - one that I definately needed right now!!!!

Thank you!!

I've been a DIS member for about 10 years and this is by far the best thread I've ever seen! Thank you so much - my DH and I are going in November and your reports and GORGEOUS pictures really got us excited! As if we weren't excited enough already. Your story about meeting your wife at WDW almost made me cry. How SWEET. We didn't meet there, but we spent our honeymoon at Disney in 1994 and have been going every year since. At least once a year. And, we're from NC. Naples is beautiful so you've lived in two of the most beautiful places in the union.

We took our dog once. We were staying at CBR and so we put him in the MGM kennel because it was the closest. They told us that all we had to do was tell the security person we were there for our dog and they let us park right near it - in the handicapped section.

Thanks again - my DH and I just spent about an hour reading through your thread. You should be a professional photographer, not an engineer. Can we hire you to come to Disney and take pictures of us??? LOL!

When is your next trip? I'll be sure to look for the thread.

You're next trip is in 85 days? When exactly is your trip? I may be there the same time as you! As of right now, we plan on being there in early Dec, but I have to wait until I get my next class syllabus from college to make sure I wont be missing any test days.

Pam, thanks so much for the kind words. Yes, NC is beatufiul along with Naples. I am from the Concord/Charlotte area (right near the line between the two. In fact, I lived right at the Speedway (Lowes Motor Speedway) and would walk there for races. I still love going home and fortunately I have a wife who loves NC so, we swap Christmas years. One year it's Christmas here in Naples, and the next in NC. Fortunately though, the year that we stay in Naples for Christmas, we leave the day after to go to NC for New years. So we're in NC for the holidays either way!

As I said in my previous post, barring any tests in early Dec. I plan on going back then for MVMCP. I'll be doing the same trip report then, and taking the same photos. I have a little something in mind for that time. I know alot of Dis'ers are going to be going then and I'm going to try to ge a quick 5 minute meet for anyone there and get a photo (with my camera) of us all in front of the castle and post it here on the boards. However, I'm not going to push forward until I know exactly when I'm going.

Thanks again for such kind words!

Fabulous thread! Super pics, make us feel as if we're smack dab in the parks, on the rides, listening to the Dapper Dans! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Love you & yr DW's romance story! May you both live "Happily Ever After"! :bride: :groom:

Now we're looking forward to your next vacation, too! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for all the photos and information. We're heading down in 2 weeks, and your posts got me even more excited. Disney should hire you as an official photographer you do an amazing job! Thanks again. :)

I had to say hello to another NC DISer. Hello PAM, too. I live in the Charlotte area also........not too close to the speedway though. I am on the south end. It is beautiful here. I would love to see any pictures that you have taken of the Charlotte area, too.

OT: I am always amazed at the NC connections I find on the DIS. I currently live in the Triad area, but I call the Roberta/Harrisburg area home.

BTW... great report and photos! :thumbsup2 Thanks for taking the time to share

Yep! Born and raised in Concord! I used to go to Harrisburgh to get my haircuts and to eat at one of my favorite little restaurants: R & R.

It's a Small World..........................................after all.

If it happens to be the dates we are there Dec 3-10 I would love to be part of that pictures. How awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CIVILENG68, I have also watched this thread from the very beginning, and have enjoyed all the great reports and all the beautiful pictures. I really hate to see it end. Can't wait to see the pics and read the report for the next trip. We'll have to wait till we get back though. If all goes well with you and your not going to miss any test days, we'll be there the same time as you.

Thank you soo much for sharing your vacation with us. Your pictures are awesome and I can't wait to see the next ones from your next trip!! I am taking my DD (6) for a surprise trip in December and I'm even more excited now!!
