Fabulous pictures, CE, I really have enjoyed them. Dramatic parade and on-ride ones. Very, very nice.

civileng68,can you recomnend any books or web sites to learn how to do raw files?I have what came with my camera but I don't understand it.Thanks, keep posting your photos they are awesome. :thumbsup2

I dont know of any books. However, the way I learned about RAW was, I started googling "Raw vs. Jpeg". You'll get alot of what you need that way.

Basically it comes down to this. RAW is the raw format with which the photo was taken. If you have a 12 megapixel camera, you are using nearly every MP to make the photo. Because of this, photos are generally like 10MB or something crazy like that. Basically JPEG is simply a compression format. It takes the RAW photo and compresses it to what is called a JPEG format. When this happens, basically pixels in the photo are being tossed out. The computer program doing the compression (or the camera) is not using all of the megapixels. Many times, if you do not crop or zoom on the photo, you can't tell the difference. However, I do alot of cropping, which sometimes zooms the kept portion of the photo and there the difference can be seen.

However, if you are not planning on cropping or zooming or printing the photo, JPEG can attain the same quality as the photos as RAW (visually).

To everyone else, IM working on my final trip report tonight and will publish it sometime tomorrow.

Thanks!

OK, as promised, here is the panoramic from the Train Station at Main Street USA. I have had to reduce the quality to upload this photo but I still think it's great.

To keep the "feeling" of the size of the shot, I kept it large. I hope that's ok.

Just FYI, the blur is done on purpose, and is needed to capture such a bright image at night. This shot is a compilation of 5 shots, at 30 seconds per shot.

I've been a DIS reader for two years now. I've never posted. However, after seeing your amazing panoramic shot, I couldn't not respond. That is the most beautiful shot I've ever seen! Your skills are amazing and your wife should be proud! You are truly an artist! :artist:

Thank you so much for bringing such joy into our lives as you've been enjoying your trip. My 10-year-olds comment was "Mommy, I want to take pictures like that!" However, I'm not sure that is possible with his regular disposable that I get for him when we take our trips :rotfl2:

Again, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Oh my gosh! You really should put out some kind of book or sell your photos. They are really spectacular. Your photos draw me in and for a split second I feel like I'm there. Thank you for that.

Thank you so much for taking the time out of your vacation and doing this.

Yes, this is a great spot to watch the show from. It does get crowded however.

My favorite location is anywhere in the "hub".
