Live TR - the 35 night trip!

That is great that you got the reservation. So jealous of your trip, it seems that you guys had a lot of fun. Enjoyed reading about your journey. Have a safe trip back.

WOW! I just read your entire TR ... so far. What an amazing adventure for your family, especially your children. Thank you so much for sharing all of your fun.

Wow! Can't believe it's already time to plan the return trip home. I have enjoyed all of your pics and adventures. I probably would be burnt to a crisp if it were me on the beach all that time (too much Scandinavian heritage), but I envy the tans I see on the kids.

If you keep adding more days, it might be the 50 day TR!:thumbsup2
:rotfl: oh how I wish! :rotfl:

Thanks for following along. 3 more days until reality...it has been a great adventure. Seriously, the best month of my entire life.

:rotfl: DH, who has only been at the beach with us twice during the day - is Lithuanian and can't take the sun, so I totally KWYM.

At the kids' request, today we took one last trip to Bathtub Reef Beach for snorkeling, but this time I made them stop at Gilbert's Bar/House of Refuge. I grew up with a dad that made us stop at every historical site known to man, and I am proudly carrying on that tradition! :goodvibes

The House of Refuge was really cool. The only remaining historical structure. They were built in the late 1800's to house shipwrecked sailors, and evidently Florida had them dotting the coast. It was really cool.

Hard to imagine what life must have been like for the keeper and his family.

The reef was as cool as always. DD caught five crabs. DS and I sat in the water and let little fish come nibble our feet. Love the reef. It is magical.

:cool1: ITA - but I will say that the press pot at the Wave is even better, although the rest of the breakfast is lackluster.

My favorite presspot is at the Kona Cafe, I will have to try the Wave somtime.

What an absolutly amazing trip, we all have enjoyed hitchhicking on your adventure. Thank you so much for having us all along for the ride. Went to Vero last year and will be back. Safe travels home and I hope your re-entry into reality is smooth!

Your trip report has been awesome! I usually don't share the DIS with my kids, but we all enjoyed tagging along with you. We will be in VB the end of July, and my DS8 plans to replicate your DD sand castles!

Have a safe journey home.

the TR has been absolutely amazing and I am shocked that its almost up! The pics of the kids are so great and the opportunities you have been able to give them are wonderful! What a trip for them to look back on with sentiment! :goodvibes

Not to mention you have made me consider VB for a future trip!

Thanks for sharing your wonderful trip with us! I can't believe its almost over! What a great way to spend time with your family. What special memories you have created for them! VB looks wonderful and we hope to stay there in March. Thanks for all the great dining reviews! I have written down some to use in March. Enjoy the rest of your time in FL and have a safe trip home.

Thanks again, I really enjoyed your report!

You know visitors to Thailand and other spots in the world pay good money to have a nibbling fish pedicure and you got one for free! Along with saiboats that may be another niche to be filled. LOL:thumbsup2 Finally got to read through your trip report and sorry we didn't get to meet up with you and your family. Did you see anyone waving from the boat offshore? Was out there on a few calm days. Your trip report should be a must read for anybody considering a trip to the area. Imho a link should be placed on PG1 of the VB Admiration Thread. Thanks for taking the time to put it all together and wish your husband the best in completing his work. Safe travels home. pirate:

I just read your entire TR in one sitting -- just great!!! As I've been reading, I've been telling my family all about your adventures.

Now -- We all cannot wait to go to Vero Beach!!

Thanks for taking the time to share!! :cutie:

Thanks - I saw the boat and some guys on the beach said it was treasure hunters -thought you might be on it! Maybe we can meet up next year, we will be back June 1st 2011:banana: DD is going to get scuba certified.

:cool1: Glad you all are excited about Vero. It's a really special place.

We said goodbye to the beach about an hour ago, now it is time to pack up the house. I will really miss this.

Yesterday, DS got his special breakfast with me. We went to Shutters.

. It is always a treat to visit the Disney property - I love to see all the kids and adults so happy and relaxed. It is such a different vibe than at WDW where people often seem stressed, tired, and irritable. IMHO, everyone really owes it to themselves to visit VB or HHI at least once with their spouse/ family.

I know this time has been really good for DH and I, and for our relationships with the kids.

Last night we ate at the River Grille in Sebastian (super close to Disney) where ...drumroll please.....they have a summer special. Two entrees, two sides, and a BOTTLE of wine...for 45.00

They do have popcorn chicken or buttered noodles for kids - but this is a better date/couples spot. It was very, very good.

Dinner starts with warm sourdough bread in olive oil with parmesan shavings and fresh basil. Mmmmmmm

Great Idea. It is done. Very top of page #1. Thanks for the suggestion, Mike.

:beach:

Have a safe trip home....my boys are so upset having to return home after only 5 nights in WDW....I can only imagine how hard it is to say goodbye to VB after 35 nights :sad1:. Thanks again for sharing your wonderful trip! :goodvibes

Hey Starbox.... great Report... very jealous. I'll be there in 37 days but who's counting!:lmao:

Did you make it to Oriente? River Grille similar type of place? My kids are about the same age as yours and they LOVED Oriente last year. Always looking for a great place to eat.

We are now hooked on your Italian take out in Vero! Take it back to the pool for movie dive in night.

Thanks

Great Trip Report, Enjoyed Reading about all the Restaurants, Sites, and seeing the pictures of the Vero Beach area.

Especially loved the Beach Vacation Home you got to stay in.

I will be going to Disney World and Vero Beach in the early Fall, so I am going to make my partner read about all the great experiences you have shown in this thread.

Thanks, Phil
