Live Reports May 8-28 (yes, 21 days) Solo & a 1st timer!

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your live updates.. I just now read them all. Oh, what fun it is to be solo and do just what you want when you want. I'm glad you're having so much fun (despite your head cold). Keep the updates coming for the next few days.

Pam

After being in the MK for while I decided I wanted to see the new pirates movie, (oh the joy of going solo). So I hopped a couple of buses and went to DTD.

The movie was really good. I liked the reference to a scene in DL pirates ride, (not this one at MK). I hope the do two more.
if you've never seen the DL version you may not get it.

Now I'm back in the MK.

Going to watch the fireworks from the train station this time. Already grabbed a seat.

Tomorrow I'm actually going to check out the rest of DTD besides the theater then end up at Epcot for dinner and fireworks.

You've done great with your updates... I've been following since day 1. This is just marvelous!

Thanks, it's nice to know someone is reading my ramblings!

All back at sports now. Fireworks were great of course. They are my favorite here, followed by Epcot, then F! DAK's fireworks come in dead last :)

Goodnight

I'm still faithfully reading too, Bob, but have had some life circumstances come up that say I can't be on the DIS until after you get home- at least regularly. I'll check in, but can't promise a lot of commenting- BIG party to prepare for on Saturday with oodles of prep stilll needed. Meantime- enjoy
DTD- one of my favorite places to chill out.

Just enjoyed a shrimp dinner at CHH. Sitting on the second story bridge between FL & LS. Last seat FL side looking out the window. Bet most of you can picture the exact spot in your mind right now.

Been doing the westside all afternoon, time for the eastside.

Just discovered your TRs this morning, and really enjoying them!! I made a solo visit from the 3rd-6th. Just 3 weeks ago today I was sitting on the bridge at the 1st table on the FL side enjoying the CHH Fried Shrimp Basket Yummy!

You mentioned that the Riverboat was running when you 1st arrived. I was really bummed to find it was going to be down for refurbishment for most of the month starting on the 3rd. Now I'm wondering if it actually was running on the 5th when I was there....

Oh, and I was thinking - they should create an 'Honorary CM' pin for you since you keep getting stopped and asked for help! Enjoy the last couple of days of your trip, and stop at Earl of Sandwich and get a sandwich for me :)

Yes I can! That's my favorite spot and I make sure I get there as soon as CHH opens so I can secure my spot by the window near HM and the Riverboat. I just love watching the boat load and go around the river.

Can't remember but have you checked out the Living with the Land boat tour at Epcot? If you enjoy that, you might also enjoy the Behind the Seeds tour that can be booked.

I always do the boat tour a couple times each trip. This year I did the walking tour and really enjoyed it, not to mention learning a few things about hydrophonics gardening which I would like to try.

Bob... wow, I just realized its only 2 more days of Disney for you... how are you going to spend it??

Went to DTD at 11 has lunch at PH got to use that $15 coupon. Actually the chicken, avacado, Swiss sandwich was quite good. Total bill came to $1.08 plus tip. The fries were yummy too.

Wandered around, bought a couple of things.

I then took the boat to POR. (Got to everything)

Too hot to enjoy walking around.

Took a bus over to Epcot for the last time.

Rode MS and TT one last time.

Time to wander the world. Probably have dinner in Japan, in the mood for sushi.

Later is illiuminations one last time.

Tomorrow is my last full day, going to spend it at MK of course. Last dinner Ohana's again. Going to spend my last night like my first night.

Wow I can't believe tomorrow is your last full day :sad1: I have been :surfweb: since day 1 of your TR. I can't believe how fast it went....it feels like you just arrived like yesterday. I hope everything went well and you had a magical vacation. I will be staying tuned in popcorn:: to hear more about your last day.

Take Care

**Have A Magical Day/Night**

Bob,
Just found your TR this morning and I am all caught up now.
Your trip sounds terrific.
Hopefully, we'll be at WDW next June. At first I didn't think I would want to go to DHS for the SWW.
I was watching some of the hoopla on YouTube that was going on last Friday and it looked really neat.
My DS (10) was watching the parade with me and pointing out almost every character. I told him we will definitely get over there. I know it won't be as full-blown as this year, but I think we will really enjoy it.
Have a great last couple of days!
Amy

I just read this entire report while my DD napped (So much for laundry and Cleaning). Sounds like you had an amazing time... You have expierenced what many of us an only dream of. Glad you had such a wonderful time and I hope O'hana's is perfect tonight!

Got to MK for rd. Doing a "best of" day, hitting all of my favorites. JC, BTM, HM etc.

Quite crowded today, just taking my time.

I had lunch at the Plaza. Good club sandwich and fries. Nice and cool inside too.
I don't think I said this but one of my favorite things to do when I'm solo is to notice people taking pictures and I offer to take their picture with their camera. I get a lot of nice suprised and happy people doing this. Just fun.

At Disneyland I look for people looking confused at their map and I offer to help them find something. Disneyland I know like the back of my hand but here I'm the newbie but people keep asking me anyways. I guess I look helpful.

I'm at Sports currently, wanted to take a break and freshen u before Ohana's.

I love to do that, too... whether I'm solo or not. My favorite is for the couples. No one ever thinks about who's going to take the pictures when they plan The World for their Honeymoon. Imagine looking back on your pictures of the trip when you've just started your life together, and there's only one of you in the pictures!! (of course, they COULD use Photopass, but they're not EVERYWHERE!! lol)

it's funny you mentioned that b/c I was at the zoo today with my aunt and cousins, and I saw a mom, dad and kid, with mom standing there trying to take a picture in front of the welcome sign. I just had to stop and offer to take a picture with all THREE of them in it! They were shocked, of course, at the offer, and my aunt was confused by my behavior (cause not only have they never been to Disney with me, they've never been AT ALL!)

I also had to stop and tell a family that if they moved around this one corner, they could see the elephants much better!! Similar to map help! lol

There! I've figured it out.. Going to Disney World just makes me a better person! :lmao:

A perfect ending.

I took a bus to the MK then the monorail to the Poly, got there about 7pm.

Had a back scratcher and a tropical macau while watching bartender Walter work his magic with a mob of customers.

A huge thunderstorm passed through between 8 & 8:30. Quite a light and water show!

Got seated for my wonderful dinner early at about 8:30.

I forgot her name but the entertainment lady from Hawaii called me "her handsome cousin in a great aloha shirt" and gave me 4 of the "good" Hawaiian leis just because. She told me again after the coconut races how she loved the shirt and gave me a hug and kiss on the cheek goodbye.

I watched the fireworks from my window table with a perfect view of the castle with no trees. What a great show

I then took a boat back to MK and a bus back to sports.

What a great end to my trip!

Tomorrow is sleep in, check my baggage and I was thinking of taking a bus to Epcot, then the monorail to TTC, then to MK, ride the train around one last time and then reverse everything back to here.

Then DME back to the airport and a very sad and long trip back to AZ.

Once I get back on my computer I plan to do a wrap up of my wonderful adventure.

Goodnight one last time from WDW!

I hope your last day is great. And have a relaxing trip home. Looking forward to hearing your final thoughts and best memories of the trip. Thanks for shareing!

Well I di just what I wanted to this am. After dropping of my bag I headed to Epcot, monorails to MK, walked around for a while, a couple more pics then reverse all back to sports.

I rode the Tronorail back and forth to Epcot. Cool.

Now sitting in the food court eating, charging my phone and waiting for the dreaded bus to take me to the airport and back to reality . As I said before reality sucks sometimes.
Bye

Man, so sorry I missed all of the "live" bits, but so glad I finally found your TR today. :)

Looking forward to going back over the thread to read what I've missed.

Hope you have a safe flight back home! :goodvibes

How sad that you are on your way back to reality. I hope your trip was as great as you hoped it would be.
