We are currently at OKW- building 36- having a WONDERFUL time....wish you were here!

The resort appears to be in great condition. The painting renovation is still ongoing, but the driveway resurfacing seems to be pretty well completed.

The bus "On Demand" program has been changed/modified/cut-back since it began in late March, but they stil have great hopes and expectations for its ultimate success. The computer system has been a major source of trouble thus far, so currently the program is being handled manually. The program functions between 11AM and 6PM. Early and late routes are the same as always. I have always been an advocate for the bus system and right now feel it is better than I've ever seen it. We have not had any wait more than 20 minutes and most have been 10 or less. We did have some delay at VWL 2 nites ago, but still within the 20 minute range. I'm confident that it will continue to improve and will eventually include key terminals at all bus stops. The 18 new buses are in service and they have more ordered when Pop Century comes online in Dec.

As for DVC sales information, I have spoken with numerous DVC CM's and have not seen such a consistant lack of information. Most do not evenhave any rumors they can offer as an incentive to ask more questions. All have backed off on the Bonnett Creek rumor, which was very consistant in the last 2 years.

Price increases- beyond the $75 for June 3, are also not rumor-mill fodder. No one was willing to suggest any price for BCV- or a sales date. All feel that another increase is likely by that time (whenever that may be) but have no other info to offer. I'll keep asking around, but have nothing concrete to mention at this time.

Our guests left this evening. Our room has been great. They changed our full clean by a day and we will pay for an extra cleaning tomorrow so we can move back into our 1BR. All is well!

Thanks for the update, Doc! Sounds like a great trip so far. We appreciate the info you have tried to get for us, especially since it is being done on your vacation time! BTW, have you seen JayPd in the neighborhood? I think he is close by to you.... ;)

Thanks for the great trip report Doc!

Glad you are having a great time. We leave for our first OKW trip in 3 days!! Needless to say, we are VERY excited.

We look forward to meeting you next Wednesday for the mini-meet.

I missed the member's update today, but will be at our DIS/DVC mini-meet tomorrow. Hope to meet Jay then!

Also looking forward to next Wed- May 16 at 3PM at the marina flagpole. Hope to see you then!

I'll be at the update next Tues for sure! Parks have been great- no crowds! MK was great today. No waits more than 10 minutes.

Weather has been really great- low humidity- low 80's!

Doc, thanks so much for taking the time to check-in with us while you're still away and for trying to find out any "news from home". Enjoy your trip!

Doc,

Thanks for the updates. All of us that can't be there can at least enjoy it through your reports. Definitely above and beyond the call of duty!!

Bob

Doc, thanks for the update, especially on the busses as I hadn't heard much on that recently. Will try it out on our next trip.

Keep up the good work.
See you all shortly.

Thanks Doc. Maybe we'll meet you next week. We'll be there at OKW from May 13 to May 19.

I think we all should donate a point and leave you there to give "live" reports. Great info.

Dave

I love these live updates!! Makes me want to be there SO bad! LOL!! :D How is the weather right now? Is it super hot? And are you finding the parks really crowded or so-so? Hope OKW is treating you well!! Enjoy your stay home (I am sure you will...);)

Rima

Doc, I wish I was there. It is very nice of you to take the time to let us know what is going on, an extra Mickey Ice Cream bar for you. What are the new buses like? When I was there in Jan. the bus drivers were saying that the new buses should be an improvment. They said that they are lower to the ground so it will be easier to board and easier for wheelchairs.
Have a great time, and think of us here while you enjoy OKW.:jester:

Doc, Thanks for the live updates (and further info on DVC rumors, etc.). We only live a little more than an hour away from WDW, and we are WAY jealous of you. We are stuck in the office all day with the beautiful weather outside...... and we're not at Disney like you. Oh well, looking forward to our 4 days in Vero at the end of the month. 18 days and counting.....

The new buses are nice. They have a different look. They are very low to the ground, so are much easier to board. Wheelchair access is very easy- there is an extended ramp which takes the place of the old pneumatic ones. Seating capacity is reduced, but there is more standing room. Not a plus for those crowded trips home after closing a park, but otherwise a spacious feel at most times of the day.

Weather has been spectacular and crowds non-existant.

I'm off for the DIS/DVC meet. I'll say "Hi" to everyone at the meet from everyone on the Boards! I hope to post some photos later tonight.

As with everybody, I too am jealous. With I was there, but for now I'll just have to catch a peek on the Web cam. The weather looks fantastic.:earseek:

Thanks for the live updates Doc. Wish we were there!!!

Glad to hear the bus is working well. We have never felt it was horrible, but most posts seem to say it is better.

Sounds like the BOD program is at least beginning to evolve into some improvement in their attempt to manage transportation more efficiently...which I'm confident is no easy task ;)

Thanks for the update Doc !!
