Live Report starting tomorrow. first update

We leave tomorrow morning and will arrive in Orlando at 12:32. We will have our laptop and since we have to have an internet connection so DS17 can email homework back to school and DH has to be able to stay in touch with his office I figure I will do a live trip report.

We are staying at the AKL Concierge. I have a few surprises for my kids planned with the help of Don and Juanita. This is a part of DS 17 graduation present. He gets to go again with his class to Grad Weekend in April. I wanted one last big family vacation before he goes to college next year.

So here is the cast.
ME - Mom to the world. Planner extrodinare. Hope they appreciate everything I have planned for this trip

DH (Dopey but we love him) Excited to go but he is an engineer and doesn't show it. He indulges me in whatever my latest obsession is.

DS17 - (Grumpy) been to the world in 1995. Not as excited as he once was about this trip - his EXGF family is traveling with us.

DS4 - (Stitch)Can't wait to get there. He has never been. Trouble finds him faster than you would beleive. He has Asperger's and I have gotten lots of good advice from the disabilites board.

EXGF Family. When the kids were dating (they dated for over a year) both families planned a trip to surprise the kids - but we didn't know the other familyl was going. It came to light last Feburary when I was talking to the mom and I mentioned I had just booked our trip. We are only scheduled to have a couple meals togeher. They are a non planning family, no ADR's, get up at noon stay up late family.(the opposite of us) Should be fun.

We are leaving this afternoon abotu 4 to head to KC - have dinner with my dad and his wife and head to the airport hotel.

DH went to work today. He is picking up Stich from school at3:30 and thinks he can get home and packed and on the road by 4 .

I am doing last minute checks on everyone else. DS17 is still doing laundry. DS4 is glued to Playhouse Disney (Thank God for small favors)

I keep telling my self I need to log off and finish cleaning but I am a DISSER at heart. I will be in touch tomorrow.

We FINALLY made it. You know there is a problem when the pilot says "Uh Ladies and Gentlemen we have a problem." At least we were still on the ground when that announcement was made. Turned out the navigagitonal system had failed and they had to fly in a part from Cincinati. So instead of leaving at 720 we left at 11. We arrived at about 515.

I had ordered a special cake for DS17 as a graduation present. I can't describe it well enough to give it justice. I will post a picture tomorrow. IT has a 3D Mickey holding a chocolate morter board. Around Mickey's feet are a chocolate Comedy and tradgedy mask. With edible gold on it. And a soccer ball made from sugar.

this place is amazing. WE are at AKL Concierge and WOW this hotel is great. We have a room on the Zebra trail - 5th floor. We have seen Zebras, Giraffes, and several things I have yet to identify.

Had dinner at Rose and Crown tonight. Stitch had a great time playing with the blue cubes from my glow - tinis. That is an amazing drink. I already feel like I have eaten enough for a week. and I have only had one meal.

EXGF family had dinner with us and admited they had no reservations for the rest of the week. Oh well. The only complaint I have is the drunken people in Epcot. And the foul language used by so manypeople. I know there is alot for adults but there are kids around. EXGF family didn't see any reason to see Illuminations so they went back to the hotel before it started. We were escorted to R&C private viewing area and then went back and settled our bill. Kirsty from London was great. Very attentive. DS17 picked the best dessert - the sticky pudding. That was amazing. He was kind enough to share a small bite with dear old mom.

Tomorrow we are headed to MK. Crowds didn't seem horrible tonight but we only hit Epcot for a little while. Time to turn out the lights and convince Stitch to get some shut eye.
