Live From Wonder 7/7/05

I so happy you get to go on the island! Even part of the day is better than nothing. When we sailed in September, our biggest disappointment was not docking at CC. Glad some pixie dust came your way!

Have a great time! Wish I could be sitting in the Walt Disney Theater with you tonight watching Dreams! Oh, how I love that show!

I' so pleased that you managed to dock at Castaway Cay :sunny: and thanks for blowing that ship's horn for us - it must have been so much fun, I was in awe being on the bridge of the ship - I think I'd hyper-ventilate if I was able to actually blow the horn.

Enjoy the rest of your cruise and thanks for the updates.

Actually the Captain did extend our stay on CC today. Instead of 5 pm, it was 6 pm. That was nice. Was windy to say the least.

When I got back to my room, the Captain had a Certificate for blowing the Mickey Horn for my DH and I. What a nice jesture.

I want to THANK EVERYONE for your kind words on this thread. It was very nice to read each time I signed on at the Internet Cafe. Thanks so much

And I want to thank several of you for your PM's to me with kind words.

As a point of interest, when the Wonder goes into dry dock in September, there will be no more Bridge Tours and no one will be allowed on the Bridge. They are extending the Spa over head and it will extend completely over the Bridge. So if you are sailing soon, take the Bridge Tour now while they still have it. That includes blowing the horn, if anyone requests it. That is what one of othe Officers on the Bridge told me while we were there talking to them.

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
And, my signature is not too long and does not have too many lines in it. And I do not click on any links that I "AM TOLD" to click on. If there was a way to block you I certainly would and will be looking into it.

Doesn't the Wonder go into drydock in 2006? I didn't think it went this year, I thought the Magic did. Well, if it is still available we will try to get in the bridge tour again in March when we go. Sounds like there will be a lot of changes on the ship on the next dry dock. It will be fun to see the changes!

Glad they let you stay longer at CC! Enjoy your last night on the ship!

As another point of interest.

for all of us that had postcards to mail from CC, Disney is paying for the postage. All we had to do is drop the cards off at the PO on the Island.

Another nice jesure.

I think you might be right about the date. Sorry about that. Since the Spa makes so much money, they have to make it bigger to get those extra $$'s. LOL

KRDISNEYBOUND thanks for the information on the bridge tours. My family and I will be on the July 24th Wonder sailing :boat: and I would love  to take the tour.

I am sure right now you are getting ready for breakfast and to disembark  Thanks for the reports and I'm glad you had a great time, especially being able to blow the horn! :cheer2:

In two weeks we will begin our own "WONDER"FUL adventure...

See ya!

krdisneybound, glad you had a nice cruise and made it into CC for a while anyway. :goodvibes What a special treat to be able to blow the horn!! :wizard:

I posted a picture of the bridge from the Bridge Tour on the DCL Picture a Day thread so I'll post it here, too for anyone who's never seen it.

Thanks for that pic, Linda. I WAS THERE - To end this thread and since I am home now, I am posting a pic of the Certificate that Captain John gave me - I'm gonna frame it. And he signed it also

It states - "for Operating Mickey's Whistle with Professionalism and Style" Signed by Captain John Barwis on July 8, 2005 - has my name on it also.

:cool1: I think that was just too cool that you got to blow the ship's horn. It really is the little things that make our lives awesome. I'm so glad you asked and got the opportunity that only very few would ever get. By the way, did you take pictures of this once in a lifetime moment?

Karen :thewave:

That is so awesome!!! Thanks for sharing with us! I love it!
Isn't that a memory you will treasure forever!?!?
Was anyone able to take your picture while you were on the bridge?

Kelly

I actually did not take any pics at that moment. All the Officers were going back and forth and we were leaving the dock and so much activity around, I didn't want to confuse anything and have to leave due to picture taking. It was just an honor to be on the Bridge, as we left port and seeing it from the front, along with the others. But I'll always remember.

Thanks to everyone for your very kind comments. So very much appreciated from wonderful DIS'ers.
