LIVE from WDW...thank you DH for having a business trip!

Yay, Nicki! So glad to see you back with another review sooner than expected, and SOOOO jealous that you can just hop on down the World on a whim. The Wave looked wonderful...bring on the Epcot eats!:yay:

Got to love spur of the moment trips to Disney!!! I'm a big fan of your reviews and I can't wait to hear how your Les Chefs lunch went!!!!! I hope you were able to find something yummy for dinner!!!!

Your pictures at the Wave made me drool a bit on the keyboard everything looked fantastic!!!!

Cant' wait to hear and see more!

I miss checking the dining boards for one night, and look what happens! I both hate you (for being there on such short notice) and love you (for doing another live review)! The Wave looked awesome.....looking forward to hearing about Chefs and Biergarten!

Thanks so much for the reviews!!! We are arriving a 8/23 and have ressies at the Wave and Chef's (for lunch). Those Wave pix look amazing. Can't wait to have that cocktail!!!!! Looking forward to review of Chef's. I am sending extra
pixie dust your way so that you can get into Teppan Edo tonight. pixiedust:
Have a great day!!!!

You are so welcome! You are going to love both of your meals there! We cancelled Chefs because we got into Teppan Edo, thanks for the pixie dust, it worked!

The Wave looks sooo good every time I see a review on it! But I'm so picky :lmao: Not sure I'd find something, but the Pork is calling my name! What'd you think of it when you had it? Since it's in a resort, it means I can go when I visit my parents on a non-park trip...

And  for a live report!!!

The pork was excellent, we had it in March and really enjoyed it alot!

OMG!!!! You shocked me! I'm so glad you got to go to WDW again!!! (must be the perks of living in FL...) I can't wait to read your next reviews!!! We're going to the Wave our second night, YAY!!! The steak looked great, but I'd get it medium! (MMMM!)

Just a note... I've changed my dining about 3 times since the last email! LOL! AND... Cait's going to bring her laptop so we'll have dueling "Live" reports! (well, maybe not dueling, but I think we have different dining ressies... I can't wait for Oct!!!)

OMG live reviews from you? That is sooo awesome!

Yeah!!! Another MickeyNicki review!:woohoo:

Welcome!

Thanks, we are so happy to be back here! I hope DH has another meeting planned soon!

Ah the Wave, what a fantastic place! We cancelled Chefs because we miraculously got into Teppan Edo! Stay tuned!

I miss checking the dining boards for one night, and look what happens! I both hate you (for being there on such short notice) and love you (for doing another live review)! The Wave looked awesome.....looking forward to hearing about Chefs and Biergarten!

See what happens when you miss a night? :lmao: More reviews coming up now!

More reviews coming up now!

Ooooh....can't wait. Were your ears ringing earlier this afternoon? We had lunch with Amy and Dan (Amy&Dan of the DIS) who were in town visiting her brother and we talked about you.

Hi guys! We just got back from a nice, very hot, day at Epcot and MK and boy am I exhausted! First up, breakfast at Roaring Forks. We arrived to a very small CS area that was loaded with a million people, ok not that many but there was no where to turn and the lines were insane.

DH went to get the food while I stood in line to get Nescrape (er coffee) for him and ice tea for me. Seriously, lines for the drink area...can you believe that??

DH ordered 2 adult platters..they came with wonderful creamy scrambled eggs, awesome hash browns, the worlds worst, undercooked, super greasy biscuit (one bite and I spit it out) and horrible limp greasy bacon that DH had a few bites of. Now I love bacon but not WDW bacon, I will not eat it. Sadly they didnt have any sausage, they do not offer it.

We also got our normal order of fruit but this one was ick...the melon was very hard and had zero flavor.

Food028.jpg

And the finishing touch, you guys know that Todd is madly in love with cinnamon buns...well they had them but they were covered in pecans and they were super duper soft and the icing was nice and warm and gooey...OMG it was incredible and we shared it and wish we had another one!

Food025.jpg

I must say the tiny dining area was loaded with people, the place was a freaking mess and the noise was insane....it was probably the most noisiest CS I have ever seen..but it was worth it to eat that cinnamon pecan roll :goodvibes

Hooray for DH!!! :goodvibes :cool1:

Always love your reports! Can't wait to see more!!! :cool1:

Oooooh....those are the GOOD kind of hash browns! REAL hash browns. Don't cut potatoes into tiny squares and tell me they're "hash browns"....nope, they have to be shredded, browned and buttery to count as the real thing! Totally agree with you about WDW bacon, too. How can you ruin bacon? :confused3 They found a way...

WOW that cinnamon pecan roll looks sinful!!!! I'm glad for the most part you had a great breakfast even if Roaring Forks was a crazy madhouse!!

OOOH...you got into Teppan Edo...YUM!!!

So our after our breakfast we were on the bus to Epcot and the conversation went like this "Nic I really want to eat at Teppan Edo" I know Todd I am trying my best but there are no openings all day. "Ok fine but I want to eat there"

Am I talking to my 6 year old niece?

So we got into Epcot with out a hitch, went to get FP for Soarin and head over to the countries. At 11:30 I called yet again to see if we could get in, the answer (again) was NO....so I went upstairs to check and the CM's told me they were booked solid. So we left and went to the gift shop...by now DH is not taking no for an answer so he said lets try again...For the love of Pete with this boy....and guess what? The SAME CM said they can seat us in 5 minutes.....so DH thinks he has the magic touch or something (and he is right, more on that later).

We sit for a few minutes, watch the opening ceremony and meet the people that we are sharing our table with, we were the first people sat...so much for booked solid right? Now let me remind you that this is Todd's favorite type of meal out of any meal in the world, the reason we do not eat here is because we get better, cheaper and more food at the local place at home...keep that in mind too while you read my review.....

Here is the menu

DH had lemonade and I had the most incredible, delish iced green tea...I had like 4 glasses of this stuff

Food008.jpg

DH had the miso soup and the salad with ginger dressing...I didnt want either of it. He loved the salad, is was fresh and cold and large...the miso soup was so salty he could not eat it.

Food009.jpg

Food010.jpg

Here are the dipping sauces, from left to right are the seafood sauce (like a lemon butter sauce), a ginger sauce and a mustard sauce

Food011.jpg

About this time we are getting friendly with our tablemates, and they were a nice family, 3 kids and 3 adults from Texas...we were chatting up a storm and the mom of the group noticed my crazy picture taking and said....are you on the Dis and are you MickeyNicki? Well hello! DH could not believe that someone knew me and it turned out it was Sheera from the Dis and she is on vacation with her family, they are staying until Thur...we had a blast with her and her family!

Here are our plates, noodles with onions and zucchini...DH loved it, it was just eh for me...part of this experience is getting all the veggies at my local place but here at Teppan Edo they do not give them to you so I was really bummed out. DH ate his plate and mine.

Food022.jpg

Food023.jpg

Here is the plain boring dry ick white rice...again I am a spoiled brat and like fried rice or brown rice...they do not have either...so DH ate his rice and mine as well.

Food027.jpg

DH had the chicken and shrimp...the shrimp were huge, the chicken very tender and he had some teriyaki sauce on the side to dip it in...he loved it and ate every bite...I had one bite of each and it was very good. This was also served with mushrooms.

Food038.jpg

Food039.jpg

I ordered the filet cooked med rare...it came with mushrooms that I gave to DH. Well he cut my filet into pieces the size of peanut M&M's and he way overcooked it to a well done...I didnt want to complain so I ate a few bites and Todd polished off the rest.

Food037.jpg

Ok to recap...DH had the soup, salad, the noodles and few veggies from the both of us, both white rices, the shrimp, chicken and my steak. So my husband completely pigged out and had himself a $90 lunch (including tip, they do not accept TIW card or the AP discount on a Saturday). What did I eat? Green tea! But he was so freaking happy and I wasnt too hungry anyways! The things I do for my man...I really wanted Chefs ha ha!

So you are probably wondering, did you ever eat anything? Oh heck yeah I did...we left Teppan Edo and went to France..this was my lunch.

Two of these little suckers

Food041.jpg

Well I had one first and then we went to the bakery and after that I went back and got another one...they are sooo much better than the GM ones!

Then I had a fantastic croissant, so light and flaky and butter and wonderful!

Food043.jpg

And this little cake for dessert...the bottom is dark chocolate, then there is a vanilla cake with lemon cream and raspberry on top...it was light and delish!

Food042.jpg

After hanging out in Epcot for a while DH wanted to head to MK....we had no clue what we were going to do for dinner and there was no TS places open in MK or the surrounding resorts so we figured we would eat at CHH....I really wanted the Plaza but they were booked....or are they?? Are any of the TS places REALLY booked??

No sooner do we get off the monorail does my little endless stomach (uh DH of course) say he needs a treat...so onto Main Street Bakery we go!

Food048.jpg

Todd chose a chocolate chip cookie, he didnt like it at all, too crispy and too greasy. The person in front of us had the frozen latte (I completely forgot all about them) and he had to get one of those too...it was more like a coffee milkshake but it was very very good and he did share it with me...will get that again for sure!

Food049.jpg

Food050.jpg

He really wanted an eggroll (where does he put all this food) but they no longer sell them in Adventureland and when we made it to Frontierland he spied the pretzel cart...he never passes up a pretzel.

Food051.jpg

Food052.jpg

Food053.jpg

The topic of what to do for dinner kept rearing its ugly head...we walked over to the Plaza and the CM said the only time open was 8:40...too late. If I eat that late I cannot sleep at night....we went to Tonys, they could take us at 4pm...too early, I know like we are the three bears or something.

So we decided on CS but the menu at Cosmic Rays was ick and we decided to get something from CHH but on the way I need to use the ladies room, the one that happened to be by the Plaza...I get out of the bathroom and DH is saying come on I got us a table...its like 5:30 and he did what?? I could not believe it...the same CM that told us no openings said ok to DH....he thinks he is the golden child when it comes to getting us into places that they tell me NO WAY. So I told the little maniac that he is now in charge of all our ressies :rotfl:

We ate here once many many moons ago, like 10 years or something. Here is the menu

Food057.jpg

I really wanted the club sandwich but DH whined "But I dont like that and cant share it with you" so I said then what do you want ME to get?? Oh get the reuben he says, and get fries. I said why cant you get fries? He said he is getting the broccoli slaw, I reminded him that he doesnt like that but he said he would eat it (guess who wound up eating it because HE didnt like it? Why doesnt he just obey like the vows said?? ;))

DH had the cheesesteak without the peppers but with extra mushrooms and onions and cheese...it was awesome...soft bread, lots of ooey goodness and the steak was very tender. The broccoli slaw was wonderful, crisp, crunchy and cold.

Food058.jpg

The reuben was awesome too, the corn beef was just salty enough and very tender, lots of cheese and dressing and kraut. The fries were incredible...if you have ever been to Boston and had Boston's Best Fries they are just like that...crispy, not greasy and just enough salt on em.

Food059.jpg

We watched all the foods come out and the most ordered were the chicken salad (which was HUGE) and the cheesesteak.

We had ice tea to drink and were way too full for dessert but on the way out DH picked up some rice krispie treats, rocky road fudge and the last gingerbread cookie they had.

We LOVE the plaza! The cheese steak is our favorite and we usually don't eat stuff like that.

Okay, so I had a reservation at Teppan Edo for the last night of our trip. I've been searching for a reason to cancel it and now I have one (your review). I'm all about some fried rice! I'd swap it out for Yak and Yeti, but I think I read one of your reviews where it's dark meat there? Hubby doesn't eat dark meat....
Back to square one! Obessing over our upcoming tip :rotfl:
I really didn't want to pay $12 for the kids meal there anyway. But now I need a back up plan. Any recommendations?
Enjoying your reviews as always!

Hooray for DH!!! :goodvibes :cool1:

Always love your reports! Can't wait to see more!!! :cool1:

Why is it the men always get their way? Or at least my man ha ha!

Those potatoes were fantastic! Wish they were served at the other CS places!

WOW that cinnamon pecan roll looks sinful!!!! I'm glad for the most part you had a great breakfast even if Roaring Forks was a crazy madhouse!!

OOOH...you got into Teppan Edo...YUM!!!

I would gladly give my kingdom (such as it is ) for that cinnamon pecan roll! Wow, it looks incredible!

You guys have no idea how to die for that cinnamon bun was...I think we need to buy some and take them home...eat them in the car for a sugar high!

You know that there will be no living with him now that "he" got you in to Teppan and you couldn't! :rotfl:

Oh you have no idea...and he got us into the Plaza so he thinks he is King of Disney, Ruler of the Reservations, Lord of the Menus!
