Live from WDW, its the Nicki and Todd show..and RAIN!!!!

Hey! You can't be leaving yet! You just got there!! :headache:

Anyhoo, I'm glad you enjoyed Grand Floridian Cafe! We have a lunch ADR there in January, and I'm really looking forward to it!! :thumbsup2

What a great report. Thank you for sharing with us!! :thumbsup2

Great reviews, as always! I didn't know about the Grand Floridian so I will have to add that to the list to try. So you didn't like the tangerine daiquiri?? I trust your judgment but on this one I'm just going to have to try for myself. ;) Sorry that the weather hasn't been the greatest but as you said, a rainy day at WDW is better than a "regular" day just about anywhere else. Hope you're enjoying your morning at the Poly and breakfast at Boma. I'll be there around the same time in October so I'll keep an eye out for DIS'ers taking pictures of menus and food. :)

Great review of GFC! I, too, loved the shrimp pasta dish at Spoodles. The GFC one topped it, huh?:)

Well Super Nicki,I turned in my 1900 park fare in for GFC,Thanks a million and I was so hook on the report that you gave on spoodles in your previous report,so I made a ressie there, along with the Tangirine Cafe,I am so thankful for these reports, you may not know it but you and your husband are going to make my first trip to WDW special,I know where to eat and thank you and all the great people on this site,oh quick question I am not sure if you are on the dinning plan, but if you are what can you get for your dessert option at GFC ,I saw the menu with all the little desserts, and then I saw what you guys had, and my did it look great, well my question is with the dinning plan do you only get one of those mini desserts,I couldnt do anything with just one,my hips cant afford one,by my tummy is asking for more:)

Oh Nicki, you spoil me with your reviews! Thanks for sharing everything looks so good!:worship:

Nicki, you're going to break me!!!:goodvibes

I have once again added another ADR based on your recommendations - O'hana for breakfast. That one will be OOP since all my TS credits are already spoken for.

Now that I've added O'hana breakfast, that makes several ressies I've made based on your reports - Boma breakfast, O'hana dinner, and Spoodles. I'm sure there are others but they don't come to mind immediatley.

You've also inspired me to write reviews when we return home. I've thought over and over about a title since yours are catchy. I have an idea but don't know for sure about it. Anyway, thanks for the great reviews!

Fantastic reviews!! Can't wait for your Boma review! We are going in December and eating at several of the same places you visited. We are going to the GFC for breakfast though as my daughter wants the lobster eggs benedict!
Looking forward to your boma review and thanks!

:cool1: Reviews and pics!! Thank you!!
I think Kona has the blue Glowtini's - what is in them?!!! (besides the glow cube!!)

Your Grand Floridian Cafe review is just WRONG!! It is making me rethink my ressies... again!!! esp since they had lots of variety of veggies!! :rotfl2:

The Blue Glowtini had pineapple juice and alotta booze! It was amazing and tasted like Hawaii...if that makes any sense :lmao:

Great report..Hope you enjoy your last day. BTW do you have a picture of you guys..? I like to see who i am reading. if that makes sense:)

Thanks! I have to download our personal pics one of these days...I usually just load the good stuff :rotfl:

It must be so cool having the parks so empty and the monorail, its like having your own private park!!!

Thanks so much for the CP review, we're eating there for the first time in 3 weeks and 1 day!! Can you tell I'm excited for my trip!:rotfl2: The food sounds good to me and there is such a variety that I'm sure we will have a fantastic meal! I'm bummed about the desserts, but at least there were a few good ones and I'll just hope your dessert night was an off night;)

Okay so the breakfast breads at O'Hana's look so yummy, they make me want to book a ressie at O'Hana's just for the bread. Hmm that wouldn't be the first time I've done something like that. This is the second time you've tempted me to make breakfast ressies, the first time you suceeded and we're going to the Boma buffet, if I could fit more food in my belly I would probably add O'Hana's but for now, I'll have to wait until our next trip! That will give me something to look forward to!!

The GF looks like a fantastic experience!! You've even got me contemplating switching a ressie, hmm again mostly because of the bread... did the pasta dish have a garlic sauce?? Unfortunately, I can't have garlic... insert big  gasp:eek: here.. I know, I know it sucks as all the yummy dishes have garlic in them, but it is what it is and I've learned to adjust, so all if good:goodvibes

I hope you enjoy BOMA, I know you will, and your last morning in the World!! Have a safe trip home:goodvibes can't wait for your last review!!:upsidedow

Thank you! I love it when WDW is not super crowded although I would have preferred more sunshine :goodvibes

The pasta at GFC did not tasty like garlic at all, it was perfect! I will be posting Boma in just a few minutes so stay tuned! You will love it and I hope you try Ohana, that place is awesome! DH wants to go back again soon, we will be there in January with our nieces and he cannot wait!

Great review! And your pics have almost convinced my husband to let me take photos on our trip! :) And thanks for answering a question I have had -- whether you can get the pressed pot of coffee at Ohana. I was really hoping we could, since it's right across the way from Kona and the coffee cart, but I had never heard confirmation of that! That coffee is SO awesome!

Thats cool! I cannot wait to see your pictures either! I love the Kona pressed pot so I was beyond thrilled when our server said Of Course I Can Get It For You!!

Nicki,

Hi, I've really enjoyed your report, you always do such great detailed TR's! I loved all the hidden Mickey's on your desert plate, so cute and that little something special that reminds you where you are! :goodvibes We have a ressie for GFC for September and now I can't wait! Thanks so much for posting not only the awesome food pics, but also the menus. It's so nice to see them since many of the menus online are out of date. That's very thoughtful of you. Enjoy your last day and have a safe trip home!

Thank you! I noticed the hidden Mickeys too! You will love GFC, I hope you do a dining review so you can tell us all about it! I am a huge menu searcher so I decided from now on I am going to try and snag as many menu pics as I can!

WOW your reviews and photos are incredible! :thumbsup2 Thank you so much for posting! I have ressies for the GFC and when I saw that the Land and Sea was off the menu I considered cancelling but after reading this I may keep it for the steak and desserts.

Thanks! You will not be sorry if you order the NY strip, it was amazing!

I'd been noticing that broccolini business, too! I love broccoli, but that stuff just doesn't look like it would feel good in your mouth. :scared: So it was nice to see some good 'ole green beans in you DH's plate! The kid's menu looked better than average, which is nice. I've been hearing good things about GFC lately.

Have fun at Boma! That's what I'm most looking forward to in January.

Thanks! Boma pics and review to come in a minute!

It's so sad that you are leaving in the morning. The GFR dinner looked AMAZING! I showed Aaron the dessert plate and he was like yeah I would want it all too. I just laughed at him.

It was just as awesome as it looks! Tell Aaron he has got to get the dessert but make sure he doesnt hog it all from you!

Hey! You can't be leaving yet! You just got there!! :headache:

Anyhoo, I'm glad you enjoyed Grand Floridian Cafe! We have a lunch ADR there in January, and I'm really looking forward to it!! :thumbsup2

I know it was a short one but we cannot wait until Oct for our 9 day one!

What a great report. Thank you for sharing with us!! :thumbsup2

Glad you liked it, thanks for reading!

HA HA just look for the little short one with the black ponytail taking pics and the tall guys standing around saying are you done yet?? Can I eat it yet??

We love the GFC also but sad to see the land and sea entree is no longer on the menu.:sad2:

I dont like it when a great item is removed either, but think of it this way, a new item is there too love!

Great review of GFC! I, too, loved the shrimp pasta dish at Spoodles. The GFC one topped it, huh?:)

Oh heck ya babe....you aint tasted nuttin like the one at GFC! Go for it you wont be sorry

:woohoo: Bring on the Boma! :woohoo:

Coming up soon!

Love the GFC review and those great big yummy pics!:3dglasses

I love to zoom in close and get the nooks and crannies!

Aw you are so kind! You will not regret ditching 1900 PF for the GFC, it was awesome! DH and I dont really eat out much at home, maybe pizza or Fridays with friends but we work too much and it is just easier to cook at home and when we do go out we never order drinks, apps and dessert! When we go on vacation we do it up right and oink out! I told DH that in Oct we are hitting the resort gym every morning! We do not do the dining plan but I heard the GFC waiter telling the table next to us that they get 2 mini desserts with the dining plan, all 4 of them got 2 desserts. Hope that helps!

Oh Nicki, you spoil me with your reviews! Thanks for sharing everything looks so good!:worship:

You are welcome, hope you liked it!

Your pictures are so wonderful! Can't wait for more!| Thank you!!!!:surfweb:

Ha ha that is too funny! I hope you liked them as much as I did and I cannot wait to hear all about it!

Fantastic reviews!! Can't wait for your Boma review! We are going in December and eating at several of the same places you visited. We are going to the GFC for breakfast though as my daughter wants the lobster eggs benedict!
Looking forward to your boma review and thanks!

Coming right up! I want to go to the GFC for breakfast too but where do I fit it in??

Thanks! I have to download our personal pics one of these days...I usually just load the good stuff :rotfl:

You mean that's not your pictures as your avatar? That's how I picture you guys - all sweet and romantic and loving, and having a great time in between all of the photos of your food

Seriously, you write the best dining reviews, you're really a celebrity on the DIS Plus you're also a fellow January Snowbird, which is extra fun!

Ok I am home and I am not even bummed out about it because I will be back in 7 weeks YAY! DH said I should call and add another night so we can drive up after work on Thursday and be all nice and refreshed for Friday morning...dont have to ask me twice pal!

I did check with the front desk at the Poly this morning and they are now booking bounceback for free dining at this time but nothing else for 2009. The CM told me the regular 09 bouncebacks should be released in Oct...WOO HOO I will be there then so I hope I get to bounceback and not fall down in the process!

We checked out at 10 so we could make our 10:30 at Boma. This is becoming a routine for us, Boma on our departure day. We arrived at the valet and he said you were here a few weeks ago right? I said in late June yeah how do you remember me?? He said I dont but I remember your car! :rotfl: I have a GTO with racing stripes so I guess it is a pretty memorable car but it is pretty darn sad when a valet picks you out as a big Boma eater :rotfl2:

We were seated right away, not that busy at all. The food was amazing as it always is. I just cannot find fault with this place. Even the regular coffee was good. The juice did not taste like the juice Ohana serves even tho the CM at Ohana said it was the same. The color was darker at Boma too....no worries they are both wonderful!

DisneyJune08007-2.jpg

DH starts off with yogurt and granola (blech for me but Yumm-o for him) and oatmeal with brown sugar and raisins (another blech for me but Yumm-o for him)

DisneyJune08005-3.jpg

DisneyJune08006-3.jpg

Here is our fruit plate, fantastic and sweet and cold and perfect!

DisneyJune08003-3.jpg

Here is our pastry plate of banana bread, cornbread, scones and a croissant

DisneyJune08001-3.jpg

Here is my plate of carved ham (amazing flavor), potatoes (crispy edges and soft middle), scrambled eggs (I am a WDW scrambled egg addict what can I say about this creamy light yummy dish), sausage link (nice and spicy), sausage biscuit casserole (can you have any more pork items on one plate Nic???) and cinnamon raisin brioche french toast (the best I ever had)

DisneyJune08002-3.jpg

Here is DHs plate of the same but he added a pancake too and nix the sausage and sub in the crispy bacon

DisneyJune08004-3.jpg

The items were the exact same as March and June so I will go and post my close up pics from March for you to drool over.
