Live from WDW, its the Nicki and Todd show..and RAIN!!!!

Aloha everyone!

I thought I would do our breakfast review while DH is out on the balcony taking a conference call.

We had 7:30 am ressies at Ohana and that is the best time to go. We have never been here before but the call of fresh yeasty cinnamon bread beckoned so I made ressies.

We rolled out of bed and rolled into Ohana at 7:15 am, first in line and then there was a ton of people behind us. We were seated right at 7:30am to the far left of the restaurant at a window table overlooking the marina. Walking to our seat we picked up our basket of pinapple coconut bread and cinnamon raisin bread. This was amazing, so soft and gooey and darn good!

We were given our juice, the server said it is the same at Boma, Tusker House, Ohana and Kona....it was fantastic and they came around to fill our glasses often.

They do give you regular coffee but we ordered a pressed pot with no problem.

A fresh plate of fruit was delivered and it was out of this world. Watermelon, pineapple, grapes, honedew and cantelope.

DisneyJune08002-2.jpg

Breakfast skillet had biscuits, crispy bacon, spicy delish sausage, nice crisp on the edges potato wedges and the best scrambled eggs in all the land.

DisneyJune08006-2.jpg

They come around with a huge bowl of Mickey waffles, you can have as many as you like at one time...DH had 2 and I had 1. I am not a waffle girl but I tried one and it was so light and crispy and delish that I am NOW a Mickey waffle girl

We sat by the door that the characters come out of. First it was Stitch, Lilo, Mickey and lastly Pluto. The character interaction was the best that we have ever witnessed.

Here is Pluto peeking out of the door...he was playing shy! He would go up to all the guests and sniff them first and then lick all over you!

They had a parade around the restaurant with marrakas (sp?) and the characters were dancing up a storm. DH and I loved this place and cannot wait to take our nieces here in January, they are both huge Stitch fans and lovers of waffles!

Ohana breakfast is a blast!

Ohana's been getting great breakfast reviews lately. We may have to give it a try.

You should, it was amazing!

I'm loving the live review! I can't wait for dinner!

Since it is pouring for the last 3 hours we left Epcot, cancelled our Marrakesh ressie and got into the Grand Floridian Cafe. Kona is sold out, Coral Reef is sold out, Ohana is sold out, the Luau was cancelled tonight. Hope dinner is great, we have never been there before.

Great review of Ohana.

Thanks!

Oh carp! I had just talked myself out of 'Ohana for breakfast! What to do, what to do?

Talk yourself back into it! :goodvibes

Thanks for the Kona menus! I'll be eating there in September. Any idea if you can order Sushi from the Sushi Bar whie you are dining at Kona?

Back from our Epcot day...it started raining at 2pm and has not stopped...it is coming down really hard out there so we decided to ditch Epcot at 3:30 and cancel our Marrakesh ressie (I was looking forward to it but we will be there in Oct) and called the dining line to see what is available. No Kona, no Ohana, but they do have a 7pm at the Grand Floridian Cafe...ok that sounds good we have never been there before and it is on the monorail line...cool sign us up. Now DH can get a nap and I can get to posting lunch!

Epcot was a ghost town....I mean soooo quiet. Soarin had a 35 minute wait which is the lowest I have ever seen it. We walked onto everything else.

DH loves WDW pretzels so we got him one and a Vitamin drink. He loves these and I am a very mean wife and refuse to buy them at home because they are loaded with sugar but on vacation he knows that anything goes and we eat whatever we want. He loved both items and did not offer to share....:rotfl:

He was craving a burger and fries so we went to good ole USA. He cut me off a little slice and shared his fries. It was good, your standard CS burger. I took pics of the menu for you guys. We were the only one in line and there were only 3 other tables eating and it was 12:30ish....like I said Epcot was deadville. Oh and guys, NO CHEESE SAUCE HERE

Even tho we were going to Marrakesh for dinner (I did not know at the time that we would cancel it) I wanted something from Tangierine Cafe. When we were here in March/April I fell head over heals for the falafel wrap. This time was just as amazing as the last time and they gave me extra sauce (which it did not need). The couscous was fantastic but the tabouleh was very bitter this time. I took pics of the menu board and the food table for you guys too.

While I was ordering DH went to get me a tangerine daquiri.....I have been trying on the last 3 trips to order one but the machine is always down. This time I was in luck. The stuff in the machine has no booze in it, they add it after and mine tasted like no booze at all and it was very sweet. Little did I know that I wasnt missing anything and I will not get it again.

DH also bought himself a macaroon, he said it was the best but I dont eat those so I couldnt tell ya if it really was!

The rain opened up around 2 and we started to head back to the front of the park and do some stuff there. DH decided that he needs a sweet snack so we went to the Land for Sunshine Seasons. He picked a rice krispie treat. There is a new pan of them and he took the first one on the corner. I took one bite and pronounced it stale. I mean really gross stale. So I pick up the receipt and head back to the bakery area. I then notice that the price is $2.29 and they charged me $2.69. No big deal but hey, cant they get the price right?

So there is a huge line and I wait in it...no fair cutting ;) I tell the girl nicely and quietly that the treat is stale and is there another tray of them? She looks at me like I am speaking Greek. She brings another baker over and I explain it to her. She grabs a new treat from the one tray that I just took one from and I said no, that is the stale tray. She said they are not stale. I told her to take a bite of mine and tell me that. She said there are no more fresher ones in the back...I say give me a brownie please. They are $2.89 so I go to the register to pay the difference and get flack from the cashier. She thought I needed to pay for the brownie and not just the difference in price. Oy what a nightmare! I had to get the baker to come to the cashier to explain to her the problem.

I get back to DH and I was so flustered and ticked off that I wanted to just take a nap :rotfl: DH pics up the brownie and said taste this...I said no way pal if it is stale just pitch it. He says, Nic just take a bite will ya? So I grab the thing, take a bite and .... went to chocolate heaven . This thing is so dense and so rich and so wonderful that I forgot that I was irritated!

Here are pics of baked goods, the treat and the brownie.
