Greetings from the Wilderness Lodge!! :)

We just checked-in today and I love it!!! :) We've always wanted to stay here but have been skeptical after reading some negative reports. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised with everything so far. :) So let me tell you all about it.

We arrived here around 11:30 am, after checking-out of Pop Century. The lodge still has all of its Christmas decorations up, and they are really beautiful. We are staying on the 7th floor, concierge, and everyone up here has been wonderful. :) We were greeted at the elevator by Dawn and taken to our room. We have two queen beds overlooking the courtyard with a nice view of the EWP. (it just finished as I'm typing this) The room is very nice, I see no signs of wear and tear, the bathroom is spotless and seems just like new, we have a fridge, two robes, armoire, small chest of drawers, table and chairs, etc. I can tell it is smaller than the rooms at the Poly, but we don't feel cramped. Dawn gave us a lounge schedule with our last name printed on the front (nice touch) and then showed us to the lounge where we stopped to eat a snack. They offered cookies, nuts, pretzels, fruit, tea, soda, lemonade, coffee, water, etc. We relaxed and really soaked in the atmosphere. This resort is definitely being added to my top four and we'll definitely stay here again, I'm sure. :) Glen, another great CM here with concierge, went all the way to DTD to get our DS a Mickey hat he wanted... and Rhonda, another CM here, played Lincoln Logs with our other DS while we were waiting near the elevator. I'd have to say that the Disney magic is alive and well here on the 7th floor. ;) (had to throw that in) ::yes:: I am absolutely stuffed after eating all the desserts tonight... they had this delicious hot fruit cobbler, brownies, cookie bars, cookies, etc. ... I have to say we are ALL happy. :) DS says he's sleeping in his Mickey hat tonight :earsboy: and I hope everyone reading this will really consider giving the WL a try. :wave2:

Glad to hear you are having a great time!

Can't wait to read more about your trip!

Glad you are having a nice time!

We too, LOVED our WL stay!!! Though, we were down in the "regular rooms" not getting spoiled on the 7th floor! :p

We're heading off to the MK this morning. :) Breakfast was great.... muffins, croissants, danish pastries, bagels, fruit, cereal, juices, coffee, etc. :) They have to-go cups with lids and also drink carriers. We slept great last night, the a/c is sooooo cold! :) I love it!! :)

Erika, you're killing me, lol. I love the WL but alas we are a family of five and do not fit in a regular room any more. Is there a deluxe room option for five? Perhaps you could ask a CM there if you don't know. Moving up to the Villas just costs too much for our budget.

Have fun! I'm sooo jealous.

disney4us2002,

There are deluxe rooms aka junior suites that sleep 6 but there aren't any on the concierge floor.

I wish there was. The room type along with the concierge service would be wonderful.

If you look at Disney's website it says Deluxe Concierge but I believe they are talking about the Honeymoon Rooms. They should have worded it differently. It makes it seem as if the deluxe rooms come with concierge and they do not-at least as of a few months ago.

You could always reserve a deluxe room and then ask if you can have concierge access added to your room for an additional charge.

I'm not sure about the room types up here... I'll ask. :)

We are still really enjoying our stay. :) After MK we came back for snacks and then headed to the pool. I really like being enclosed in one building. It's nice not to have to walk to separate buildings for front desk, restaurants, shops, food, etc. I'm sure that during rainy or really hot weather it's great. We've had beautiful weather everyday since we got here. :)

Two thumbs up for the concierge staff again. They made a special trip to get gatorade for our ds today. :) I could really get use to this pampering. :smooth:

Any questions about WL just let me know! :)

It sure sounds like the CM's at WL Concierge are treating you well.

A special trip for Gatorade, that's great!:D

Looking forward to hearing about the rest of your trip. We can't wait to go back in May.

Actually, Erika, if you wouldn't mind, could you go down to, say the 5th floor North Wing, and see what the courtyard room numbers would be from the lobby to the end of that hall, along the middle hall, and then maybe to the end of that hall? I'm trying to figure out the room number sequence! But, since there are basicly 2 wings and a connector area, it's making it kinda hard to figure out. Thanks, and if you don't get a chance, no big deal. Thanks again! ;)

I'll walk down there tonight Cali. :) When we checked-in they said that whole north wing of the 5th floor was closed for some kind of work being done. That was the area we originally requested... we were hoping for the MK view. :) But actually I like this cy view with the EWP better.

Erika,
Have a ball girlfiend. Live it up on you vacation! The WL is a great place to explore and have an adventure! Don't forget to find the WL Memory Box too! Hope your enjoying yourself and thanks for the updates!

Love Glenn ! He made sure my little nephew had his Chocolate milk everyday. The whole staff really seems to love going that extra mile for the kids .
Have a Great time !
Mishell

So glad you are loving the Lodge!!!! We had so much fun there over Thanksgiving. How was Pop??? I will be there soon....

Well, we had quite the surprise tonight while walking out to head to dinner. The lounge had quite a spread.... assorted cheeses and crackers, veggies with dip, bread with sun dried tomato dip, fruit, a big pot of tomato basil soup, grilled salmon, au gratin potatoes, assorted wines, a large tub of soft drinks, apple juice, milk, tea, lemonade, coffee, etc. The salmon was delicious and tasted just like Artist Point... I assume that's where it came from. After eating we headed to MK, hit a few rides, saw Wishes, and then came back for desserts and drinks... brownies, cookies, and a warm apple crisp. I made myself a white russian, yum! , and our wonderful CM Glenn brought the boys some ice cream. :)

After that we went down to the pier to watch the EWP. :) I just love to WL!!! ::yes::

Wow, sounds like they went all out tonight!

That sounds like more than what is usually out. How nice.:D

How many more days do you have at WDW?

I have really enjoyed reading your reports. I wish we were there already!

Oh, I also talked to Glen about the room choices for concierge. He said that all the rooms on the 7th floor are max of 4 people, but ANY room in the resort can have concierge added to it. So if you're staying in a junior suite you simply request that concierge be added when you check-in. :) The max occupancy is 6 for that room.

We are here 7 days this trip. We leave Wednesday. :(

Enjoy the rest of your stay.

Do they usually have that much out in the evening now? They didn't last time we were there.

We would love to reserve a deluxe room and have concierge service added at check-in but I don't want to risk it not being available. That combo would be perfect.

I'm so glad to hear how wonderful the CM's have been. It really sounds magical.

I'll ask Glen tomorrow and see if there is some kind of limit to the # of people that can request concierge being added on. He made it sound like anyone could do it.

I'm not sure what is up with the food. It's been great the entire time we've been here. :) Glen said they do read the DIS and keep up with reports/complaints, so maybe it's something new?? :)
