:goodvibes 2 days down and still continuing our love affair with the VWL. Here are some highlighs and lowlights.

VWL continues to enthrall us, I'm trying to figure out a way to get the elevator doors home with me.

Attendance at the theme parks is still great! We did AK today and made it onto EE with only a 20 minute wait, got off rode it again and then did a FP for 10:30 am. MGM was just as great yesterday.

We did the illumnations cruise last evening, if you get a chance to do it, go for it. Definitely worth the money. Our driver Chris, was spectacular, engaging and even let my sons drive the boat. To which my son says " mom we should get one of these". I'm still trying to visit the world my kids live in, I don't think they allow adults.

Last but not least. there seems to be an abudance of the double wide strollers in the parks. I've dubbed them the DW's. now I know these things have generated a lot of discussion on the forums but I've made a few humorous observations.

Stopping. these things need stop lights. Parents tend to just stop in the middle of the street. they're sort of like 18 wheelers on I95. Unfortunately I'm more like a ford pinto, on a down hill slide to 50, I don't manuever or stop as well as I use to.

Parking. Whenever they get on the boat or monorails most dw's tend to park immediately in the first row, which is totally understandable except the ford pinto has not only increased her load but it's shifted with time. getting by these things can be some what difficult getting by.

All in all having a wonderful time

They really are something, aren't they?

Glad to hear that your trip continues to be a great one! :)

Sounds like you are having a great time! Wish we were there already........

but it is only 11 weeks from today that we leave and 11 weeks from tomorrow that we'll be there :woohoo: :woohoo:

Love VWL

Keep on your toes and don't get run over by a DW!

I agree with you on the DW. Seems like they are either going very very fast and you have to jump out of the way or they stop dead in front of you. Oye.

Sounds like you are all having a wonderful time. Take care of the lodge for us!

:goodvibes Wow! I'm really gonna have to take a look around the Lodge. Only been there for dinner, didn't really get a good look. There seems to be so many neat touches. :thumbsup2

I have always thought that it would be nice to suddenly "get the Power", like in Bruce Almighty. I would use it to flatten all the wheels of the DW, and make the parents wear signs that said, "Kick me. I was stupid enough to buy a DW, and use it at WDW."

Glad you're having a great time! We came home on Friday and found the crowds great too.

As much as trying to not get run over by a stroller is annoying, I am so grateful I never had to push one. DS's first trip was when he was 5 and we avoided that nightmare altogether.

Enjoy the rest of your trip. :woohoo:

VWL was the reason we bought into DVC. We loved it there. It is not our home resort, but we are going to try to book VWL for our next trip. We are staying at the BWV in October to hit Epcot and the F&W fest. Everything about VWL is stunning!

I don't know how people with the double wide strollers get through doorways! When my first two kids were that little, I bought the double stroller where one kid sits in the back behind the kid in the front. It's longer, yes, but only as wide as a single stroller.

Glad you are having a great trip!

PS- those elevator doors are beautiful!

I have a confession - I am a double wide stroller person.

My youngest who just turned 5 really benefits from having a stroller and sometimes, we even let the older boys ride!! ::yes:: Shocking, I know, but it's better than listening to them whine!! Especially the oldest one who will be 10 in December!

You haven't quite experienced the workout you can get with a double wide though, until you've pushed a 7 and 9 year old (roughly 130 + pounds) up the hill for Fantasmic!!

Yikes! I'll take your word for it. My kids had to hoof it when they turned 4 or 5!

I was always a believer that my kids should walk, otherwise I will be TIRED and they will have ENERGY!

we are just a few hours away from the single digit dance and we will be staying 4 days at VWL and 5 at the OKW first time for both , first time home! :cheer2:

Or, perhaps something like: "Warning, this vehicle makes frequent stops. Please don't tailgate." ;)

Glad you are having a great time.

the other thing they need are those little beeper things when they're going to back up. It would give us a hint at least!

This is so cute...our Middle DGC would go beeeppp when I would pull the stroller backwards!!! He's not for loan!

Unfortunatley I am a double wide stroller renter from the WDW parks. First off its saves the kids energy so we can stay at the parks longer. Also about stopping suddenly.....I have more couples just stop in front of me than any person pushing a stroller. I tend to be very conscious of whose around me when I'm pushing my little ones.....strollers are a necessity with younger children. Stroller or no stroller people will cut you off, stop, and just do stupid things right in front of you with out thinking about whose is around them.

Other than the DW's it sounds like your having a good time.....thats great. We'll be there in November so everyone beware my DW's coming through. ;)

When in WDW, practice Defensive Walking! It's like driving during Holiday season, people's minds are elsewhere. They're thinking about the attraction they just came off, the next one they are going on and the most important-Where are we going to eat?? I know I've been guilty of being completely clueless in the parks because I'm thinking about what's coming next.

We can't control other people's behavior, we can only control our reactions to it. If I stay alert, then I can minimize the "stroller vs human" and "human vs human" collisions.
