I know there are a lot of spreadsheet warriors that often get highlighted in the threads, but there are also a lot of talented and creative DVC members from all kinds of backgrounds/careers so I wanted to start this creativity thread for members to share their creative talents and *Bonus* if its Disney/DVC related!

I know how to handmake candles and these days mainly do it for fun, but also if we're asked to go to an event or for family and friends during the holidays! I am not trying to sell anything here or have other people solicit please, I hope this is allowed for me and others to share their personal creativity if not I will delete.

Here is one i made after the first time I stayed at the Villas at Disneyland hotel. I wanted the background of the label to incorporate the 70th anniversary and Celebrate Happy! Theme of the hotel. The character i chose and the colors is how I expressed the absolute joy I felt being there. I combined different fruity scents to try to replicate the smell of the hotel, that I loved. This one was just for us so I left it simple, but I secretely named it Celebrate and I get happy every time I light it up ✨🌈 🏰

Love love this idea!! Has anyone seen any good ideas for the resort door banners? Sometimes I see them in the hallways. Lots more on the DCL, I think, but wondering about a fabric version I could DIY and pack in suitcase?

Ive never thought about doing this! We always buy the hangers from Etsy for dcl but it would be fun to have more personalized stuff on the doors at wdw, but im gunna assume the doors arent magnetic right 😆

Disney says that resort doors aren't allowed to be decorated. There was a thread a while back about this topic and someone reported watching a Mousekeeper spend quite a bit of time cleaning up the door after someone had decorated. I believe it was in a thread about why there are check-in delays. Here is the Disney response- https://plandisney.disney.go.com/qu...outside-room-door-contemporary-resort-556130/

Thanks for the info! It is understandable why but at least we get the window, I enjoy seeing xmas trees during the holidays!

Hmmm. I would never want to make more work for Mousekeeping, but I was thinking more of a fabric 'banner' that hangs over the door (rather than sticky stuff on the door). I wonder if that would be received differently?
Don't want to hijack the thread - I've enjoyed the photos (so keep sharing please!).

I love making things, so for this past Halloween I did a Harry Potter themed trunk for my son’s schools trunk or treat. I know HP isn’t Disney, but it’s close enough lol. I’ll go over some things I made.

I made this sign, and every part of it.

I made the mandrake out of clay, an old flower pot and fake leaves. I hand made the label and aged it to look old and dirty.

IMG_4852.jpeg
I made a giant whomping willow and the car that got stuck in it, can’t tell in the pic but it has working lights and HP and Ron are seen through all the windows.

IMG_4849.jpeg
I made these three quidditch posts and I made the luggage out of cardboard boxes. The owl we bought from Universal when we were there, it moves and squawks.IMG_4848.jpeg
I made a mini honey dukes.

IMG_4844.jpeg
I made a life sized Dobby the house elf. His heads sculpted from clay, body is various materials. He turned out so cute!

IMG_4845.jpeg

I made a mini pensieve, with a magical bottle floating over it depositing a “memory”.

IMG_4841.jpeg
I made a potions station, hand making the labels on most of them and filling bottles with potions from the movies/books.

IMG_4856.jpeg
I made/put together lots of other stuff too. Here’s a close up of inside the trunk.

Here’s a wider view. We had HP music going too, it was so beautiful. The honeydukes was off to the side and was where we were handing out candy. We won “Best Trunk” for the fourth year in a row lol. Maybe I’ll post another time last years trunk, which was Nightmare Before Christmas themed.

I am a knitter. Lately I am on a blanket kick. They are pretty easy and mindless so good for when I visit my mom at her facility. I actually typically just leave it there and pick it up to work on while I am there. I do have a few things I have made that are Disney-esque (usually colors, but have 1 blanket that gives a really Minnie polka dot dress feel and have made some beaded knit ornaments that are very Disney type colors). I have one that has a small world feel to it, but I kind of think that is with my mom's tree at the facility she resides at. I do not ever sell them, but probably every friend has received one or more of them for their families. I typically do not start making more for the year until around October.

Not the best picture --- gold with red and black beads for Mickey and Red with white beads for Minnieornaments.jpg
