HELLO!
This'll be my last post till we get home tomorrow night.
First of all, I already like the new board layout, way cool!
Second, yes, you need to logout AND click the 'Return to the forum index' link that appears so it re-loads a not logged in page. Caches are nasty things.
More, anyone I've missed seeing, sorry we havn't bumped into you again. The sailaway party was a madhouse, and with the loud music, and my being hard of hearing, well, you can guess.
It's the last night of sailing, we're going home.
This has been a cool day!
We pulled back into
Castaway Cay about 7:30 am, and disembarkation about 8:30. Wandered down to the family beach to see
DVC beach balls everywhere! They're the 1/4 size ones with the DVC logo on them. I doubt even one got left behind. I know we snagged one.
Ok, shlep back to the watersport beach(the closest one to the ship) to get the group photo with the tees from our stateroom last night. I forgot to mention them yesterday- they're blue, with members are magical on the front, and the ss member cruise logo all the way across the back. I wish they could have found a guy who didn't have to waste so much time fiddling(read show off) with all his camera crap to take
one picture. And when I mean fiddling, I saw more gizmos than camera while we all stood around. It's going to be a cool picture however! Ok, back to the beach to chill out a bit. Water's still too cool for much swimming. Gail(#1 Mouse) and DH John(?names keep falling right out of my head, sorry!), members of the polar bear club in good standing, actually went snorkeling! DVC had a whole schedule of member activites that they gave away entries into the drawing for the 1 year of dues paid, mentioned by Carol above. I didn't detail that either, they gave us cards at the beginning of the cruise that you had to fill out, kind of like a treasure hunt. I'll list all the q's and answers later.
Ok, by lunchtime wanted to go hang out on those nice comfy deck 4 chairs. Surprise! They're doing safety drills, got to see a crew raft up close and personal and then launch and retrieve one of the lifeboats with some time milling around the lagoon in between. Facinating how the whole system fits together. But I'm a gearhead, might not fascinate some.
Went and saw the 2pm 'matinee' of Disney Dreams. This REALLY shows the lack of children onboard, I guess there might have been 2 or 3 dozen people in the whole theatre! Overheard a cm say something like rehearsal is more crowded. I agree, felt bad for the performers to play to such an empty audience. But, they put on an exceptional performance, as always.
After that, head up to the sailaway party, almost as well attended as the first one. They gave a free drink coupon for sailaway to each adult in the stateroom last night as well as the tees. Nice time, got to see some of the disers again, for probably the last time, watched us pull away. In a nice touch, they turned parallel to the island before pulling away. Gave everyone a nice, long look on the way out. Seas are still flat, but we have some light weather to sail thru tonight.
Now, Mary and I have collected every piece of paper offered to us.
When we get home, I intend to make a digital scrapbook with a lot of this, and a trip report of sorts. Might take a bit but it'll get done.
Next time I post I'll be home, and get any questions then
Until Later!
