Thanks for trying anyway, Mark. I hated to ask but had no other immediate means of reaching him. He is probably still TAPT rotation. Head server of his section last week was Gaspare Costa. Mario also sometimes serves on CC of course.

Anyway - Andrea McArdle? I love her voice! I think she has a daughter who sings also. Is she with her?

Happy cruisin'! Sounds WONDERful as usual!

Shari

Mark..... The DVC Member cruise has our interest for the future. One question is, how formal at any point was the dress? I hate the idea of a black tie affair when I am trying to relax. Thanks in advance.

 Don't want to be a post stealer. The earlier post below from madcoco is not ours. The info sounds accurate but we sure didn't make it.

MarkRG Thanks once again for the buttons. Haven't run into you since the 1st day. Man the deck was packed that day. Hope your cruise is going well.;) Having a great time on this end.

Shari our server is Sasha from Croatia he said he knows Mario. what message do you need to send. We could try to pass it along tomorrow if possible. We are on the PTAP rotation.

Make sure you logoff on the main screen when you leave, otherwise the next person who sits down at the computer will be on your name and maybe not realize it.

Glad you are all having a good time!

Thank you SO MUCH! I sent you a PM regarding my message. I will certainly understand if it is not possible, but I DO appreciate the effort!

Enjoy your 2nd day at CC!
Shari

Thanks for the reports, I really wanted to go on this cruise, but I had just made all the flight arrangements for a cruise in May when the member cruise was announced. Glad to hear your having a good time.

Andrea's daughter is Alexis Kalehoff and she is indeed a Broadway actress. We had the opportunity to meet both of them in August 2000 on our first cruise. Our DD Sarah was even in the Oceanear's Lab with Alexis. Quite a talented family.

Thanks DebbieB Didn't have the thinking cap on last night. Too many rumrunners.:)

Shari I sent you a PM. Will try my best.
We just left CC.:(:(:(

At the Members Sailaway Party from CC today they gave away 3 grand prizes drawn from the members names who added on during the cruise. One week each in Hawaii, Cancun and Key West FL!! Those lucky dogs! LOL!!

From what I hear, it looks like there most certainly will be another DVC Cruise. This one has exceeded the expectation of most folks that I have chatted with. Many are asking for a 7 day Member Cruise, so we shall see what develops! Look for lots of photos in the Vacation Magic! ;)

HELLO!
This'll be my last post till we get home tomorrow night.

First of all, I already like the new board layout, way cool!

Second, yes, you need to logout AND click the 'Return to the forum index' link that appears so it re-loads a not logged in page. Caches are nasty things.

More, anyone I've missed seeing, sorry we havn't bumped into you again. The sailaway party was a madhouse, and with the loud music, and my being hard of hearing, well, you can guess.

It's the last night of sailing, we're going home. :D :(

This has been a cool day!

We pulled back into Castaway Cay about 7:30 am, and disembarkation about 8:30. Wandered down to the family beach to see DVC beach balls everywhere! They're the 1/4 size ones with the DVC logo on them. I doubt even one got left behind. I know we snagged one.

Ok, shlep back to the watersport beach(the closest one to the ship) to get the group photo with the tees from our stateroom last night. I forgot to mention them yesterday- they're blue, with members are magical on the front, and the ss member cruise logo all the way across the back. I wish they could have found a guy who didn't have to waste so much time fiddling(read show off) with all his camera crap to take one picture. And when I mean fiddling, I saw more gizmos than camera while we all stood around. It's going to be a cool picture however! Ok, back to the beach to chill out a bit. Water's still too cool for much swimming. Gail(#1 Mouse) and DH John(?names keep falling right out of my head, sorry!), members of the polar bear club in good standing, actually went snorkeling! DVC had a whole schedule of member activites that they gave away entries into the drawing for the 1 year of dues paid, mentioned by Carol above. I didn't detail that either, they gave us cards at the beginning of the cruise that you had to fill out, kind of like a treasure hunt. I'll list all the q's and answers later.

Ok, by lunchtime wanted to go hang out on those nice comfy deck 4 chairs. Surprise! They're doing safety drills, got to see a crew raft up close and personal and then launch and retrieve one of the lifeboats with some time milling around the lagoon in between. Facinating how the whole system fits together. But I'm a gearhead, might not fascinate some.

Went and saw the 2pm 'matinee' of Disney Dreams. This REALLY shows the lack of children onboard, I guess there might have been 2 or 3 dozen people in the whole theatre! Overheard a cm say something like rehearsal is more crowded. I agree, felt bad for the performers to play to such an empty audience. But, they put on an exceptional performance, as always.

After that, head up to the sailaway party, almost as well attended as the first one. They gave a free drink coupon for sailaway to each adult in the stateroom last night as well as the tees. Nice time, got to see some of the disers again, for probably the last time, watched us pull away. In a nice touch, they turned parallel to the island before pulling away. Gave everyone a nice, long look on the way out. Seas are still flat, but we have some light weather to sail thru tonight.

Now, Mary and I have collected every piece of paper offered to us. :teeth:

When we get home, I intend to make a digital scrapbook with a lot of this, and a trip report of sorts. Might take a bit but it'll get done. :)

Next time I post I'll be home, and get any questions then :)
Until Later!

Have a safe trip back, and will be waiting to hear your next report!!!:p

Great Report MarkRG! I was nice to live vicariously through you. I will make sure to get on one of these "Members Only"cruises at some point in time.

Sounds like a blast and I can't wait until you post all the literature that you've acquired in your travels.

Have a safe journey home,
Lisa

Hello!!

We arrived at VWL at about 10:00 AM after leaving Port Canaveral - and our room was ready, BUT - it was the infamous "Dumpster View."

Oh well - only here for two days...

To answer Peter's earlier question, we asked Pierre, our head server, this morning at breakfast, about how many people were onboard. He said a normal cruise was about 2,600, and the DVC cruise was 2,200.

It was a really fun experience. Scott (My DH) and I were asked to take part in a photo shoot which may possibly result in future DVC publications... We're really bad actors, though, so I'm not sure you'll ever see it.. :)

It was a great time - I'm certain they'll have another cruise.

Oh, and also, MANY of the DVC staff saw the great buttons that Mark made for us and commented, "Oh - you're on the DIS Boards" - we LOVE reading that stuff!! Mark & Gail even commented that several were naming names of people that post on this board. HI DVC STAFF THAT ARE READING!! :)

Anyway - looking forward to seeing everyone's pics - I'll get mine up this weekend when we get home...

Will be waiting!!! Especially since we are expecting more snow here in the Philadelphia area tonight and tomorrow. The pictures and report will WARM our hearts!!!:p

Others have said it, but I must echo....I greatly appeciate your taking the time to post. It has been wonderful to "go along for the ride" with you.

I imagine DCL also appreciates it...because now they've got a bunch of DVCrs salivating to get on a members only cruise!!:p

Thank you again.

Hi Everyone! Just left the ship this morning - didn't want to but they made everyone leave - we cannot wait to do this again - with DVC taking over a ship and some DISers too - what better combination is there! It was a pleasure to finally meet Mark and Mary - great people to know and they share their knowledge of the ships and Nassau! Thanks Mark and Mary - hope to meet up with you again soon! I also had the pleasure of meeting ChrisC and Beth and their friends from England (bad with names, sorry), also saw Our own Reg and her family and Sanddune and her family and some friends I met at a meet - John and his wife, Gail - I think they go by Captain Hook and #1Mouse (?). It was a great party and I was luving every minute of it!!! And, to share with all of you I won some great prizes - one of which was a visit to the Cocktail Reception at the Disney Suite!!!!!! Needless to say, I cried tears of joy when I entered this glorious room! Will tell you more when I have time - I'm using a computer in a library and about to time out! Will check in again soon. This is one trip I would not have missed!!!!!

Landed this afternoon at 1:30 (got on an earlier flight) after having to say good-bye to the Wonder.

We really loved everything about the special Member Cruise and especially meeting the wonderful members of the DIS. Some we missed completely, some we only saw at Sailaway, others we saw a bit more and it was nice to put names to faces and say hello.

Beth, I think you and Scott would be great in a commercial!

Mary, that is so great that you got to tour the suites. Seems like a lot of DIS'ers had that honor. Wish we did, but I can't complain as we got so much on the cruise.

To Gail and John - thanks for making the cruise extra special for us. We loved the day we spent at Atlantis with you. Extra thanks for the bubbles!

Shontell - you and your mom are the best! We couldn't have asked for better neighbors!

Beth & Chris - thanks so much for the landyards. You know it is a great idea when Disney goes and steels it for the rest of the ship :) but only the DIS'ers had ones with the DISboards logo!

Lauretta, George, Carmine & Kay - the first at our Radisson DIS meet - thanks for making it lots of fun. Sorry we didn't see more of you on the cruise.

Cheryl, Todd, Carol Ann, John (Crissup), Mike (Madcoco), Robin (RRBB), David, Reg (dvcreg), Gary, Caitlin, Sue (WDW1972), Darla (ILuvDVC), Penny, Simon - it was great running into you on shore and on the ship. That was one of the things Mark wanted to accomplish with the buttons was a chance for DIS'ers to recognize each other.

For all those I only got to meet at the DIS meets - sorry we didn't get to spend more time. The sailaway meet especially was a zoo.

I'm going to do a day by day report on the cruise line trip report board.

Last, but not least, thanks to all the hard working members of both DCL and DVC to make this a very, very special cruise.

Hi Mary! Glad you and Mark got home safely... You guys were GREAT for organizing all of us.

I just have to tell you...

I wore my button (and anniversary ribbon!) to the MK today. Scott wanted to eat at CRT for lunch.. Our server saw the ribbon, and gave us two beautiful wine glasses that say "Cinderalla's Royal Table" on the side. They are SO COOL!! :) And it's all thanks to Mark's ribbon!!

We saw one other family walking around with their blue t-shirts, on. And, believe it or not, I ran into Cheryl and her husband (Todd?) in front of the Hall of Presidents!! Wow!!

Didn't see Gail or John. They're staying at BCV, though - and we're here at WLV.

Thanks again! What a great week!!

Beth ,

So glad you and Scott are having a great time and that the ribbon got you a little extra attention. That is so cool.

We had to come home right after the cruise and today was a work day for both of us (got to pay for these vacations somehow).

I wondered if Cheryl and Todd were home yet because I hadn't seen any posts from them yet.

I think Gail and John come home Saturday.

Have a safe trip home. It was wonderful meeting you and Scott!

We're home!!!! We stayed 2 nights at BCV - very nice. Beth, we were expecting to run into you and Scott but all we saw were cheerleaders!!!!!!!

We went on the Illuminations Cruise Thursday night and one of the couples - Dottie (Disneyholic) & Joe were sharing the boat with us. We had a great time discussing the Members Cruise and found out that they were 2 staterooms down from us. Actually right next door to you (Beth) & Scott.

One last surprise - John upgraded us to First Class for the flight home - bring on the rum!!!!!!! When we got into Detroit and to the baggage claim area, there was our 8 year old daughter standing there with a poster board sign that said "Welcome Home Mom & Dad" and she had all kinds of Disney pictures pasted on it.

This Members Cruise was absolutely wonderful. Thanks, Mark & Mary for setting up the meets & the buttons. Anyone going to Atlantis - Mark and Mary make wonderful tour guides - Thanks again for showing us around.

We really enjoyed meeting everyone. Especially glad to see that we didn't have to leave iluvdisney in Nassau. We also got to go to the cocktail reception in the Disney suite. The suite is absolutely beautiful.

Regina, I have a great photo of Chris singing to you. Your hands are covering your face - you weren't embarassed were you?!?!?!?!

Looking forward to another Members Cruise being announced.
