Live from the PC Terminal 8/2/11

popcorn:: I need details!!!!!
I know, me too. She won't be back until the 16th. I will post as soon as I hear anything from her.

Hopefully we'll get some live posts from the port that day too.

we sailed on the Aug 7th cruise and had no problems at all. We had a boarding time of 11:30-12:00. We got there at 10:30 by towncar and then we boarded the ship at 11:10. They opened the terminal at 10:50 so we just waited in the garage for 10 min. They even brought us bottle water while we waited. The system was simple and easy. I was quite impressed. This was our 5th DCL cruise and it was the simplest embarkation ever!:goodvibes

This doesn't make sense. Why institute a checking-in policy if you are not going to abide by it? Why waste time and money? All I know when I arrive at my designated check-in time, there better be room for me in the terminal.;)

So they allowed the town car company to drop you off at the garage at 10:30AM.

.

What does drop you off at the garage mean? You sat in the parking garage but weren't allowed in the terminal until 11am?

We were on the August 7 Dream. Got to port around 10:50. Drove around in one circle and at 11 a.m. we were (what looked to be) the first car to be let in. (just luck!). My boarding "time" was 11:30 to 12:00 according to my docs (didn't mean to get there early, but we did). I dropped off luggage, dh parked the rental car and I went to check in. I got boarding group 7 and we were on the ship around 11:55 a.m.

Super easy.

A question for all of you. You all talk about "your boarding time" where do you get your boarding time??? Do you have this on your cruise contract??? Or with your luggage tags? How does it work?????????

Speeking of luggage tags, can we print them at home? Haven't cruise with Disney since 2007!!!!:sad2:

Many, many posters use the term "boarding time" when they mean "port arrival time". There is no boarding time, only a boarding number, which is handed to you when you check in at the terminal. The port arrival time, AFAIK, is only selectable when you do the online checkin process via the DCL website.

No, you can't print luggage tags. They arrive with your cruise documents a few weeks before your cruise.

Got to budget car rental at 10:30. Called s can at 11:45. Many families with all their luggage. About to get dropped off. Finally.

Arrived a little before 11. Sailed through security and checking. Got group 11. They are at 10 already!

Yikes on Budget car rental situation- glad we decided against that option. Yeah on checking in just before 11 and getting on the ship at 11:45! MREBUCK, what was your original port arrival time on-line?

I am so excited for next week!

This is good to hear, we checked in over the weekend for our October cruise and were able to pick 11:00 am for our check in time. I was pretty nervous that we wouldn't be able to. We're coming from WDW and are returning our car that day at MCO and having my folks who are coming with us pick us up and we'll go together. Here's to hoping we can be on board by noon :).

It's DH & I first cruise (my parents are cruise veterans on other lines) so we're pretty excited to get on and check everything out.

LONG check in lines but they move ok. Finally sitting in Enchanted Garden to eat, fruity drink in hand.

So--are they consistently enforcing the port arrival times??? Just wondering.

That would appear to be a big fat NO. Well, I should say, there has been NO posts of any type of enforcement action being taken by Disney.
