Live From the May Repositioning Cruise

Hi gmalinowski,

Hertz will do a one way. We are picking up a SUV at SNA and droping it off at Long Beach Downtown. I called to find out about tranpertation from there to the port. I was told that if they have extra employees, they will drive you to the ship , if not they will deduct $ 10.00 from your fees and call a cab. Plus it is only about 5 miles to the ship. We are dropping of our luguage at 11:00 am and checking out the sights, since I already made our Palo and excurtions.

You can use Budget also. They are also only about 5 minutes away. We took a cab from the port to their location on Ocean avenue (LG2). They have a deal with local cab companies...you pay the driver $20 and they take that $20 off of your rental. We rented one way to Palm Springs.

when are the pictures going to start getting posted and when will trip reports start comming?

I think many people are still out on part of their vacation. I'm sure the trip reports will be flowing in soon. I posted some pictures here:
community.webshots.com/user/jragland1900. They are mostly pictures of the ship and my DD that I posted for some friends. I still have tons of pics from the ports and the canal.

Working on downloading all the pictures now. Looks like I have about 1000 so I need to get them on a computer, than a backup copy to another place to be safe and then I will put them on my site. Later I'll write up another photo trip report and reduce the image sizes and stuff so everybody can see them without long download times.

I'll post the link to all the pictures as soon as I get them up

We didn't have the Walt suite this trip. That was room 8532...but we did get to visit the Walt and it was fun to see.

My guess is that people have to get home first.....;)

Not only get home but unwind and come back down to earth.

I know, for myself, it is going to take a couple of days and I don't even have to go to work and think of holding everything together.

Hi Kelli - hope you got home okay w/o any obstacles.

We went to CBS Studios and Farmer's Market on Monday and had a great lunch. I just love walking (RIDING) around that place. Couldn't buy anything, had no where to put it to bring it home. :rotfl:

Hi, Kay! Yes, JUST barely got home...830p Tues. Would have been home sooner, but I had to take an unexpected detour in case the nice CO highway patrol officer radioed ahead to one of his buddies.....I was "only" going 88 :rolleyes2 .....so we drove through Ft Collins and looked at the pretty houses, up to Wellington and back to the interstate. Added about 30 minutes, but may have saved me a lot of $$.

We saw you and Harry scratching your heads and trying to get all your stuff into a car at Hertz in Long Beach....we were about 5 minutes behind you doing the same thing at Budget!!! :goodvibes They asked if a Buick Rendezvous would be OK. I asked them if they were gonna give me 2--one for us, and one for our luggage....they found the Explorer I was supposed to get. Glad the UPS Stores in CA were open on Sunday.....

I hope everyone is still healthy and relatively happy to be home! I know I'll appreciate my health a lot more after visiting relatives in CA (3 with BAD health issues) and several more in WI (2 very serious health issues). The next time I have an ache or a pain, I think I'll just suck it up and thank God its not what others have to deal with every day!

Keith, Etta and I enjoyed meeting SO many of you, and hope you all had as much fun as we did! Funny, before the cruise, I didn't think I was going to find time for 2 massages, and that's the only thing I did make time for. I'm wondering where my 2 weeks went....and why I didn't find SO many people I wanted to say "Hi" to....

Linda--I had your banner laid out on the verandah the last morning waiting for people to show up.....wasn't about to try to put it out with just Keith and I...didn't want to get arresting for littering in CA.....:)

Nighty night, everyone! Kelli

Wow, only 300 kids on board...it must feel empty! Most of the cruises I have been on had 800 kids.

The aug repo cruise will have approx 1200 kids on it..that should be wild.

Ummmm, hello, can you tell me where you got that number? From what some have heard the number is no where near that.

The figure we heard on the repo was 1300.....I have NO idea where it came from.

Based on preliminary numbers we have from the DIS boards it looks like we average one child per stateroom. If anyone knows how many staterooms there are we should be able to extrapolate how many children will be on the cruise approximately.

Oh, I remember those two Italian hunks. They were our servers
when a dozen of us ate in the private dining room (with that fantastic tile
mural) at Palo.

I can't remember which of them brought in a flatbread pizza, and asked:
"Who ordered the flatbread?" None of us answered. "Oh, that's right....
I did!" (Did I mention how adorable they were?)

I think Marco was the one that Margaret kissed. If you're reading this,
Margaret, please clarify....and let me know if you saw them again! :earboy2:

Marco and Salvatore are both on the ship...they will be going back to Italy when the Magic docs in CA for the first time (May 28t). They have both signed renewal contracts..but will not return until the Aug Repo cruise. Marco will return for sure, Sal is having second thoughts, as he wants to settle down.
