Live From the magic

Bobby - sounds like Disney is trying to make your mystery cruise as Magical as possible! Glad you are enjoying it.

Thinking good thoughts for all those in the path of the storm and that includes all of you on the Magic. Especially those, like yourself, who have cars parked at the port!

Steve and I were just talking about the parking lot last night! I have not heard what kind of surge they plan on getting. Although the thought of getting a new car does intrigue me, I would be crushed if I lost the one I have. I live out of my van and there is a lot of "stuff" in it that I would not want to lose. Anyway, I check this thread often to see how it is going at sea! Enjoy the next few days!

Tropical Storm Ivan is forming.

MorganClan,

Since you're going to be on there a bit longer, could you look for a server named Philip from Croatia and ask if he's going to be on the 10/2. I hate to ask again, but I think my post got lost. LOL! I am SOOOOOOO jealous! Have a blast!!!!!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: ::MickeyMo

::yes:: Good thoughts going your way and loads of pixie dust to keep everyone safe out there, Canada's thinking of you all! :worried:

MoranClan enjoy your extra time and don't worry about your car, you have insurance don't you? I know you are thankful for being in such good hands in such a great place! Sending pixie dust your way.

Bobby...I just checked one of the local Orlando TV station web sites. They have a county by county update.

For Brevard County where the Port is located they are predicting this:

If the storm comes in around Vero Beach(as it's predicted to do as of 1030 this morning).

Storm Surge 6-12 feet
Winds 105 mph
Rain 10-15 ins.

I don't know when high is...that would also have something to do with the surge.

Have a great rest of your cruise and try not to worry...from one who has been up before 0500 every morning this week...checking on this storm.............

...that's I don't know when high tide is.....

Hey Moranclan,

Enjoy the detour to TX! Glad to hear everone is safe.

Please tell Nicola from England in MIckey's Mates that Kate & Brett from PA say hello. We met her on her third week onboard the Magic back in April. She's a lovely person. WE're hoping to see her, Den and Prudence (our GREAT servers) on our cruise out of LA.

Stay safe and enjoy the extra time on the Magic

Poconoboatniks,

We went on a cruise last year and met Nicola. She rocks! But when we went back on the cruise this year, they told us that she had changed cruise lines and is now a merchandise manager. She emailed me a couple weeks ago and said that she's having a blast. They go on a different itenerary every week and the ship is smaller and has fewer crew, so they're a closer knit family. So she's a lot happier where she is now. Have a great cruise anyway. ::MickeyMo

Sparrow,

When did you cruise? We met her the first week of April '04 and she said she was going to be on the Magic for 6mths. She did tell us about her previous position on a smaller boat. The boat was smaller and the passengers cruised for longer trips.

We went in Feb '04. Maybe she's back on the Magic, or maybe we've got two different Nicola. LOL! That's funny! :yo-yo: I hope she'll be on our cruise so we can find out!

Good Morning Everyone..

Slowly pulling into the Texas Port as I type..Cant see much, Its dark outside...

Passed a few oil Rigs yesterday which was cool...Seas are still great with very little movement onboard...

They are letting people get off this morning if they wish...Thats first for DCL...

We will be here until 12:00 and yes we can go ashore for few hours...

Lines have been huge for the Internet, thats why I couldnt post much yesterday...

The Magic is planned to dock at the Port on Monday at 12:00...The Wonder is scheduled at the same time as well..

How is the Storm doing?...Any Updates would be appreciated..

Thanks

Bobby

Hi, Bobby -

Enjoy your time on the ship!! I understand folks concerns about their vehicles in the parking lot. During our Floyd mystery cruise, we had a blast on the ship but the first two days I worried about the car and the last two, I wondered if we would have a home to come home, too, in Jacksonville, North Carolina. All was well when we disembarked but it is definitely an interesting experience. Our DCL Captain and crew were so professional, caring and tireless in making sure we had fun!!

This is the latest update from the National Hurricane Center posted at 0500. There will be a new update at 0800. Frances is still a borderline Cat 2/3:
