Wow Another day at seas. You truly hada mystery cruise. At least you know you are safe on board. I hope you enjoyed the cruise and we really appreciate the updates. Good luck to all those on board with travel plans. Let's just keep praying Frances leaves the area.
PS How was Pirate's Night?

Moran, where exactly are you right now? I'm assuming some where around the western side of the gulf of mexico? You guys are in our thoughts and prayers. Though, I think you are in the safest place anyone can be.

Sounds like your'e having fun despite the "weather" wishing you all a safe docking and return journey home. Please keep us updated.

Hi there! For those of you on board now, OFFICIALLY Disney has announced that this Sat. Sept.4 cruise will sail Mon. Sept. 6th. So those of you on board, you will get an extra day on the Magic!!!! The cruise website states that both the Magic and Wonder will sail out from Port Canaveral on a 5 and 3 day cruise. SO good news for all of you on board, bad news for the entire state of Florida!

You guys are in the safest place possible! ON the SHIP!!!

Have a great extra day!

Just out of shear curiousity, for those of you "stuck" ;) on the Magic for a other two days, how are changes in your travel arrangements being handled? Are you all on your own to try to get flights changed or is DCL working on that? Is there a difference in how they are handling folks who booked air through DCL and those who booked on their own?

My curiosity also stems from the fact we sail in three weeks, and while I think it is highly unlikley that another storm or this magnitude will mess up that trip, you just never know. So I'm very interested in how the logistics of this change are being worked out.

Meanwhile, how sweet to be on the ship all day Saturday and Sunday! If the circumstances weren't so dramatic for so many, that would be a huge thing to celebrate. And pleae do celebrate, there is nothing you all can do and you're in the safest place, so drink up me harties, yo-ho!

I was wondering this exact same thing - I'm even on the same cruise (9/25)! Let's hope for clear skies in 3 weeks, that's for sure.

Thanks for all the live updates, MoranClan! ::yes::

AprilN,
I just saw you WISH image in your post and WOW! I am impressed! Congratulations. You are going to have some great cruise pictures this year!

As for the Magic, I was wondering the same thing. I hope the airlines are working with people to make new arrangements.

I hope everyone on board for those 2 extra days can enjoy themselves. I wonder if they will show movies in the evenings for the "show" since they have already done all of the shows (of course I wouldn't mind seeing the Golden Mickeys and Dreams over and over again).

~First let me say hello to the Moran Clan~
My Mom, sister and niece are there with you, and enjoying the trip immensly!
~Hi Y'All~

allears, aprilN & westjones; my Mom called me this am and was said she booked thru DCL and the DCL is rearranging their flight.
Those that did not use DCL have to make there own arrangements for travel home.

I wonder if DCL has lifted the high prices charged for ship to land phone calls? Is that a charge by the cruise line or the phone systems?

At any rate, if people on the ship are rebooking their own travel arrangements, you think they need phone access.

I was wondering about the cost of calling to shore to change your arrangements. I'm kind of surprised that DCL isn't working on everyone's flights, since it is their (of course not they have much choice) decision to keep people on the ship two extra days.

It must be a bit of a mad scramble to make those changes. I hope no one had anything really critical to do after the cruise and can just enjoy the extra time.

I'm also looking forward to the reports about what activities they come up with and what they do with shows and such. I'm sure they will do a great job, but can you imagine the effort that has to go into creating two additional days of magic! I bet it turns out to be really special.

I would assume that most of the cruisers are planning to fly out of MCO, which is closing tonight and will probably stay closed for a while. Might not be a problem.

I'll bet the "internet cafe" is packed!!!!!!!!!

Update just called in from the ship:

The Disney Western Cruise that was supposed to dock at Port Canaveral on Saturday is now waiting out the storm at Galveston Texas. I'm told they are not going to disembark, just wait out the storm there.

For those of you with family or friends on the ship, they are fine. And yes, they are still charging $6.75 a minute for phone calls, if you were wondering why you're not getting a call...

It looks like I'll be picking them up from the airport on sunday or even as late as monday.

~fyi~

Not sure if you went to any of the Meet & Greets or not yet, but if you did, did you meet SeaSpray?? A.k.a. Terry from Massachusetts? She's my aunt and I'm trying to find out what the deal is with the storm. If you see or know her, please tell her I said "HI"! :teeth:

Thanks, have an awesome trip, and we'll be anxiously awaiting more details about the itinerary for the rest of the week.

OMG....Ceasar is one of my favorite CM's as well!! He always has a huge smile on his face when we see him....he never forgets a face!!!

We are sailing on 9/25 and I will post if he will be there in October if you don't find ahead of time.

MJ

Thanks mmouse37! We love going to Treasure Ketch once or twice a day while on board because of him. For those of you who are on the cruise, or going, look for Cesare 'cause he rocks! He also has great tips on cruising!

If they're actually docked in Galveston---or floating near it---peoples' cell phones ought to have service.

If the Magic is now docked in Galveston, I wonder if they would let passengers off who may need or want to get home prior to Monday.
