Hello. I just got in not long ago from this sailing. I'll do a real trip report later but here is some info.
The first few days were wonderful. Nice weather. Good times.
We went to Antigua first. We took a taxi to Jolly Beach Resort.
It was incredibile. I highly recommend. It was 41 dollars per adult. This included continental breakfast, full buffet lunch and all you can drink (it is an all inclusive resort.) It was white sand beaches. Umbrella huts everywhere, included in price. Amazing pool right next to the beach. It was quite empty. I think we were the only ones from the boat there. Everyone else were regular guests. WONDERFUL! It was 4 adults and 2 kids in our group. We loved it.
St. Thomas was nice although not as fun as Antigua. We did Coral World (it was VERY VERY HOT) and the water was very cloudy due to storms and the beaches were very rough so we didn't swim. We did enjoy taking the tram and the very pretty views. It was a lovely place. I'd like to go back and do a beach or snorkeling excursion.
The nightmare day was Thursday. The water was incredibly rough. I have been on 6 cruises, 5 of them in hurricane season and this was by far the worst I have experienced. My whole family was sick, as was it seemed about 90% of the boat. Even a lot of the staff were ill. The pool was closed, you could hardly walk due to the rocking. My poor little girl (4 yrs old) threw up all morning. We had our character breakfast that morning which ended up being a bust. Many of the children in the room, including our whole table, had to leave very shortly after it started due to feeling ill.
We tried to make the most of it and strayed out of the cabin by afternoon (my daughter and I anyway...DH was sick in the cabin all day.) We saw the Princess Diaries 2 which was a good distraction. We did make it to dinner and Disney Dreams which also was a good distraction from the misery. We tried to keep our attitudes good.
We found our Thursday evening the
Castaway Cay was canceled. We were are sorely dissappointed as that is always THE HIGHLIGHT of the cruise, and we were especially looking forward to it just to get off the waves and on solid land.
Friday got much better. The waves were improved. The pools were open. We ended up enjoying the day very much. We had dinner in Palos and had the the unusual experience of watching the boat cruise toward shore and pull up to port as we dined.
We pulled in about 8:30 pm. We were left off the boat about 10:30 pm. We didn't get checked in at the Dolphin until 1:30 AM! They couldn't handle the volume and it went poorly.
The Dolphin is nice. We slept HARD in their wonderful soft beds.
We made it out of MCO before it shut down! My thoughts and prayers are with the Floridians.
Overall it was a mixed bag. We had some awesome times and some gruesome times. Oh well. Something we'll never forget...and YEAH 50% off a future cruise!
