Live from the fort

Hi Kris, so sorry something came up and we can't make it over tonight. We will stop by tomorrow night and try and see you then

Hope everything is ok. We are glad the rain has passed and hubby was smart enough to put the chairs in the rv storage so they were not soaked. We are enjoying the slightly cooler weather with mal and some wine. Life is good.

Mal is used to us being at work all day so this is actually better. Here at Disney we only leave her alone for about 6 hours. On a normal work day we are gone 14 hours. It has been ok but I may have to adjust my work schedule soon to get home and then work. Right now she still moves around a bit but I will have to worry about bed sores. She has a bad sore on one leg right now. It was getting better until she managed to twist herself to lick it and it got worse. We watch it carefully until we can get to the vet on Saturday. I am still trying to figure out the best way to clean her.

It is tough and I know some people don't have the means or time to take care of a dog with DM. I do my best. However she has really enjoyed this trip I feel like it was a vacation for her as well.

Sitting inside the RV since it is raining, but still had a good day. Went to AK. The plan was to get there early enough to go back to rafiki's planet watch to see the vet demo. They sometimes have surgeries on Thursday. However we did not get to AK till about 11 so we passed. I did have FP+ foe everst. First we did the jungle trek. I love seeing the tigers. It was warm. Then not to Everest, we were concerned about rain today and hubby just checked the radar said nothing there. Just then it rained as we were getting on Everest. That was fun riding it in the rain, but it did not last long and by the end of the ride it was sunny again. We were hungry and I was concerned about more rain so headed to yak and yeti for lunch. Had a good lunch, actually better than I expected. Next on to the safari. We had a lot of fun as the animals were restless because of more storms coming. Then we had to wait on the zebra to cross the road. Checked out where the new FoTLK theater will be and headed out.

We hit the premium outlet mall next. Got a few things I needed, yay for a sale at Under Amour.

Sadly we came back and started packing up. We will probably head to territory lounge again for dinner and then sit outside with mal. Am hoping by the time we eat the rain will go away. I want to enjoy our last night outside. As for the bug bites, allergy pills have helped me scratch less. They are getting better.

As for Mallory, her leg is looking better since she has not been able to lick. I am glad we got a long walk in this morning (one reason we were late to AK) I don't think she will get a walk before dinner. I will hold out hope to walk her tonight.

We love camping this way. It may not be practical and I know the best reason I have for getting an RV is to take mal with. I know I won't have her forever and maybe not even the next time we come to Disney (though I really hope so). I think we still want a camper. If we have our own we can also bring mal's brother, Yeti, a Great Pyrenees. Though I would break him in camping near home, he is a bit of a barker. This really has been fun and would love more trips to the fort!

I enjoyed your trip report, thanks for posting!

If I were you and were thinking of getting a camper, I would check out all the places to camp within a 2 hour radius of home and decide how much you would really use it. I for one LOVE camping! We are in our camper at least every other weekend from March to November, with two week long trips thrown in the mix and sometimes we are gone every weekend in an entire month. To me that makes the cost soooo worthwhile!!!

Give Mal a pat on the head for me! I have a St. Bernard who tends to get a lot of attention whenever we go somewhere, she's a barker at home but when we camp she is totally fine, so your pyr may surprise you. For some dogs there seems to be something to them being in a different place that they don't think of as "theirs" that makes them bark a lot less.

Hi Kris, we stopped by a little while ago. We did not want to knock incase you were not there as we thought we might upset Mal. We left something at your door on the pad. We left a note also, I think shaving where she has the sore will help a lot since it won't stay to wet from her licking if she still is. You can get the Colloidal Silver, Sovereign is the brand from any health food store or online. Dab it on the sore 3 times per day and like we said it will not hurt if she licks it. We put drops in the dogs water daily. If you have any questions just let us know, you can email us at corizma@icloud.com.

Thanks mike we found it. Sorry we missed you. I put some on her leg after our walk. Today she only got two walks because of the rain but she did get two good walks. Been so nice here at the fort. Thanks again mike.

For the others that did not get to meet the superstar in person when I am home will try and figure out how to load some pics of mal.
