We are spending MLK weekend here at the DL Hotel. We had a rainy Saturday and the fireworks were cancelled this evening. Crowds have not been bad today at all. We walked on to Soarin' twice. The wait for Space Mtn was only 30 mins! We also walked right on Splash and Matterhorn. Lines were the best I have seen for a holiday weekend in a while. I am sure it is the weather. I bet tomorrow will be more crowded as it is supposed to clear up.
We love our room and have been really enjoying the hotel. Free high speed Internet service made it worth it to bring along the computer. Let me know if you have any questions. :earsboy:

I wish I was there too.

Oh WAIT!!! I will be next weekend with my best friend!! :cool1:

I check in on Tuesday at the DLH for a week stay :), I cant wait, hmmmm better go finish packin, hehe :)

Is the highspeed via a wireless network or is it hardwired? I ask becuase I have to stay in contact with my squadron while I'm on my honeymoon next year, and it'd be nice to just bring my laptop and make quick checks from the room while I'm waiting for my wife to get ready in the mornings.

I heard the monorail was going to be refurb starting this month thru the spring, is this true, is the monorail working or is it shut down? if its shut down is it a long walk to the parks from DLH ? I am staying there easter break and i was just wondering if i should just change my ressies to DL cal. hotel, i heard that hotel is closer. tell us about the free internet, is that a special going on now or did DLH always have the free internet? Are you planning on going to universal studios? if so how far is that from the DLH? thanks ;)

Glad you are having a good time, I sure wish I was there right now, freezing here in Mass. :earsgirl:

It's wireless in all the hotels plus in the Disney lobbies and lounges.

Wish WDW would get free wireless in their lobbies and lounges as DL has.

Lot's of time you will find us locals in the Lost Bar on our computers posting to the boards.

The rain sent us to the movies yesterday. Love having a AMC theatre at DTD.

It's ethernet in the guestrooms (they do have a cable there for you to use during your stay which is good because if forgot my cable at home!).

They do have wireless in several areas of each hotel which is posted on a sheet in the room. At DLH the lobby bar, Lost Bar, Captains Galley (by pool) Business Center, and concierge lounge are all WiFi.

The monorail is running this weekend. Don't know about upcoming weeks ahead. It is a long walk from DL to DLH but in the past when the monorail was down for rehab they did run shuttles to DLH. A few years ago when we stayed here that was what happened at least.
The free internet is included in the resort fee so I guess it is not really free ;) but nevertheless it does make the resort fee have a bit more value for the money.
I am from So Cal so we are only here for DL not Universal.

I am thrilled to read about the low crowds -- rain or no rain (rain won't deter us.....ponchos are packed!) The bags are packed and lined up, the boarding tickets were just printed, and DS is hyper in anticipation because we LEAVE in the MORNING!!! We are so excited to be heading to DL. :wizard:

(thank you to everyone on the disboards for being so helpful!) :disrocks:
