Castle View from room 4646. Look closley and you can see the MK tree. It was in the Rose Garden as Disney was preparing for the taping of the Christmas parade.

Thanks for posting the pictures & after looking at them, at least my family & I will know the situation for parking by the North Garden Wing, because I doubt any of the those parking spaces will open by next Satutrday.

I forgot to ask with the limited amount of parking spaces, did you find that the security guards at the gates were more strict when it came to parking, for both Contemporary guests & guests just going for an ADR?

I really can't answer your question as I flew down on this trip - only used Disney transportation. There was one incident when I was heading out of the resort on a bus when I noticed that the security guard was not letting a vehicle into the resort parking lot. The hotel was sold out from Wed. through Sunday (maybe longer) and there seemed to be plenty of parking spaces available. Remember that not everyone drives to WDW. Remember there is some parking by the south wing. If you go to Downtown Disney, drive your own car and avoid Disney transportation! It was at least a 40 minute ride from the CR to DD. I'll have some more pics up tomorrow.

The Castle is being repainted. I think there're supposed to be finished within the next week or so. On days that MVMP were scheduled, the crane was lowered. It was down on Fri & Sat. but back up on Sunday.

The only day it was up while we were there was on Thurs for a short while. I assumed they where putting camaras in place for the filming of the parade on Friday and Saturday. Unfortunately, we were gone by Sunday, so I didn't see it then.

Remember there is some parking by the south wing. If you go to Downtown Disney, drive your own car and avoid Disney transportation! It was at least a 40 minute ride from the CR to DD.

Ain't that the truth. After so many stays at the Contemporary & taking the Disney Transport Bus to Downtown Disney, my family & I take my Dad's car to DTD from now on. The wait for that bus takes forever & we can get there in 15-20 minutes with our own transportation.

Grand Canyon Concourse North (shops) As you can tell from this photo, this end of the concourse is a shell of its former self. All of the seating is in the form of benches. Also the carpet is a dull gray pattern. I'm assuming there will be more changes once the game room moves up to the Fantasia store.

One last question since I saw you added some extra pictures. Did you happen to see if they were selling the pins somewhere on the 4th floor, prehaps around that area towards the back? One of my friends said they were moved out of the Fantasia store, so just wondering if you happen to see where they were being sold?

Yes, the area in the center of the concourse near the window sells pins as well as other merchandise. There was a limited edition Contemporary Resort Holiday pin which was released on my check-in day. I think there was one for each Disney Resort.
