This morning when I could *finally* disconnect from the PC, grab the kids and ran to Miraflores locks. Got there at 0830 but a security guard would not let us in (they openned at 0900). So we went back a couple of miles to where the MAGIC was and took the first (very small) picture with my cell phone and emailed it to Kelli.
Got back to Miraflores at 0859... and they let us in (there were about 20 cars lined up waiting to enter)
By the time we made it to the roof the MAGIC was starting to enter the locks. The pilot on board was taking it very easy... so it took longer than usual.
I would alternate between my digital camera and the cell phone, so I could start sending pictures w/o having to wait until I got home later.
The MAGIC was not even half way in when it started raining... guess what... I did not bring an umbrella, so me and the kids look at each other and decided *what's a little bit of rain gonna do to us!!!*
I shot a total of 35 pictures with the digital camera and about 5 or 6 with the cell phone. Only problem was that, trying to get a better shot I did zoom in with the camera and pictures did not come up as good. Anyway, people on the ship should be able to recognize themselves based on the location or the clothes they were wearing.
We left when she started towing out of Miraflores, hoping that we would have time to go home, pick up DW, get some breakfast and go back to the North end of Pedro Miguel locks... but we did not
Hope everyone is enjoying this transit so far... and stay tuned for the Gatun locks passage. (Need to get me a REAL digital camera....
