Live from the 4/10 Magic

Hi everyone,

Well it's almost cast-off time for the magic at Grand Cayman. The weather was absolutely perfect. A few clouds, Sunny skies, warm temps and no wind.

Tonite is Hercules in the Walt Theater, So far we opening Variety and Golden Mickey's.

Did not go to 70's as was too tired and fell asleep, Formal nite of ok we ate in Parrot Cay as our rotation is LAP.Tonite back to Lumeiere's. As I stated early we have Irene and Sofia as assitant server.

My daughter did the Rum point beach excursion. She enjoyed it, it was small, sand was pink, food and beverage was good as it is served at the Hyatt restaurant. You tack a bus to a ferry and then a 40 min ferry trip to tghe beach, there for about 3.5 hrs and then return trip.

Well thats it for now. Will post more later. If anyone has any questions pls feel to ask away.

kennyk at grand cayman almost enroute to cozumel:wave:

Thx for the updates. My extended family did not like an excursion on KW and they were unable to cancel later excursions. So I'm glad you could cancel. My parents went on the Rum Point Beach excursion and they said they liked it. I definitely want to do Stingray City again. Do you know if the combo excursion is worth it?

Oh yeah!! :pinkbounc I received some Bingo Love this evening. Only $166 but it put a dent in that cruise bill. ;)

Grand Cayman was nice. Rum Point beach was a lot smaller than I expected it to be but it is definately shady. If you have young kids who like to play in the water and the sand, then this is a good excursion for you. The water is very calm and shallow. The beach is shady and there are nice bathrooms and food and drink right there.
You could rent Jet Skis, floats and Snorkle equipment also, if you wanted. My son(11) and I even managed to get a little burnt sitting in the filtered sunlight. I can only image what we would look like if we had been sitting in the full sun. (ouch!)

We stopped in Del Sol before getting on the tender to come back to ship. Bought a couple of tee shirts and a nail polish. That is neat stuff. All of Del Sol's items change color in the sun.

Well have to run and change for dinner. It's back to Lumere's tonight. Tomorrow is Cozemel and the Sea Lion show excursion.

TTFN!!
Cindy at Sea.

If you can, while you are at the Sea Lion show, do the swim with the Sea Lion. My dd and I did it on the 2/28 cruise and had a blast!! Have fun in Cozumel!!

This may seem like a "dumb" question, but how are you able to do live reports? Do you bring a laptop or is there an internet cafe? I am really enjoying your posts! Sounds like you all are having a blast!!!

There's an internet cafe right near a loung. You can pay by the minute or a set fee for unlimited use for the whole cruise.

Hi Cindy and Kenny, so glad you're having a great time and reading your posts makes it all seem worth the wait, did you book through dvc and did you get any special treatment i.e room credit, gifts at welcome meeting etc, or discounts on any trips ?
Have a great holiday

While on CC, look for the island cat. His name is "Tipper" due to an ear injury, and he is very friendly - especially around lunch time! In 8 visits to CC, we have seen him only twice - he is elusive!!!

Thanks for all the Postings. I tried to see the "magic"al ship on the Grand Cayman port cam yesterday, but was unable to tell which one.

Have a great rest of the week.

:D

Hey to Everyone Live from Cozumel.

I am just posting along with Cindy and Kenny because I thought it would make it easier.

We had a great day in KW. We did the jet ski tour with Island Watersports and it was a blast. The weather was beautiful and we had a great day.

On Monday we had a DIS meet in our cabin since we are in the Walt Suite we thougt it would be nice to have it there. We had about 7 or 8 families show up and really enjoyed sitting around talking to everyone. It was a little rough Monday afternoon and evening with 8-13ft swells and some people were not looking to good. As a matter of fact you saw many people taking plates out of the dinning rooms back to someone in the cabin. It was a great day except for being rough.

Tuesday was GC and we did the stingray city tour with Capt Marvins. We had several other DISers on our boat and we had a blast. I would recommend Capt Marvins to anyone and we will definitely use them again when in GC. DH & I had the Elmis Absolute Face and Body in the spa and it was great. Weather and seas were great in GC and as we were leaving that afteroon but they got rough again over night. Rocking and rolling really haevy.

We are docked in Cozumel right now and most of the Disney excursions are cancelled because it is so windy and rough. The girls and I have the dolpin swim planned this afternoon so I will let you know how it goes.

I will try to post again later.

I am still in search on these boards for some info from Hansolo.....who is also on board and promised to answer some questions for me. Please relay this message to him.....perhaps he is posting I just can't find him!!! Maybe he and his family are just having too much fun!!!

Leilani,

Glad to hear you enjoyed Capt Marvins!

We'll be doing the 1/2 day 10-1 excursion. They said to be at the Waterfront Centre by 9:15.

How much time should we allow to get to the meeting place?

Enjoy the rest of the week!

Sue

Wow, sorry to hear about the crazy weather today. It's been raining hard here in the East for the past several days. Hopefully, your sea day will go better. Thx for posting!!!!

Yes, it's been raining, and raining, and raining, reminds me of the Energizer Bunny commercial!!! I sure hope you have a MAGICal day this Friday and get to CC!!!

Tipper is a fussy boy, as well as elusive! I have seen him three times in 37 cruises. He hangs out at Cookies looking for handouts, but when I offered him part of my burger, he turned up his nose. Someone at another table offered him some lobster burger, and that was much more to his liking! What a spoiled kitty...he made me feel homesick for my three spoiled fur-kids at home.

jlawall - I would plan to leave the ship by about 8am or as soon as it is cleared. This gives you enough time just in case you do not make it on the first tender. We were there a little early, but it felt better being there than being late. There are directions given out telling you what to do if you have an excursion that is not DCL sponsered. We have concierge so we just called them and they told us where to go.

Had another great day in Cozumel. We are sitting in Cove Cafe having an after dinner drink while we listen to the deck party as we get ready to set sail from Cozumel.

The girls and I did the dolphin swim with Dolphin Discovery and had a great time. I will post later when I get home. Talk to everyone soon.

Tipper was sitting on one of the barrels on the walkway when I snapped his picture, then he "strolled" over to the table and we fed him ribs! He liked my son a lot and kept rubbing on him! He certainly looks healthy and well-fed!!

DVC4US can yuo please tell me who the CMs are in the Cove Cafe. Thanks.

Hans where are you? I am home and at work waiting for some reports.....

Yes, we are onboard and yes we are having way to much fun. We're going to try to cut back for the rest of our Easter Cruise.:boat:

Yea, right!!! NOT!!!!

To DCBrown, Thanks so much for the gift. You shouldn't have but I'm sure we will put it to good use. I'm glad we were able to help out and meet with Denvick at the Radisson. It was great to see you again.

To everyone else, we will post a trip report when (if) we return.

Oh, by the way Rae519, I left some orange mango soup for you but you will have to look for it.:hyper:

Hans,

I was afraid you did not make it on the ship!! You never know...it was also good to see all of you. Days at Universal were tiring but very enjoyable....we are home to rain, wind and cold....and it hasn't stopped since we landed.

Enjoy the RUM......let me know what the rebooking window is if you can...I am glad FUN was your excuse!!!
