Was the terminal decorated for Christmas?

On the 13th they had garland and ornaments hanging from the Mickey hands on the pillars. There was also a big tree on the way to the big Mickey ears that you walk through to board the ship.

This has been the Best trip. The Dis people I have met are all terrific. I just left Rockin Bar D where we all watched Gary Delana. In attendance were 5J's (John and Julia) Silver7(Teresa and Mark),TBert5(Mark and Sarah) The Eiss family and Doogierunner. and Lampy is there somewhere. What a great group. It is like travelling with pld friends! The DIS thread we had going was terrific. Everywhere we have been I have run into some DIS friends. I am in Promenade for this quick post before I pass out. Babysharknc(Bill and Carolyn) are our tablemates. Great great people.
Got to meet Momsgoofy and her family. Got to meet Pussycat,Ladyhawke,The Fosbenners. All a super bunch!

Weather could not be more perfect. Todat John and Julia(5Js) and I spent a great afternoon on deck 10 over adult pool having two for 1 YellowBirds. I don't know what they had in them but.......
I was really relaxed for the couples massage!

Gotta get some sleep-- TOO MUCH FUN!

I'm pretty sure on his previous message he said they got picked up at 11:30 and were at port by 1pm.

SHELLY.........the "highest sea" has been 1-4 footers.......a little different than last years 26 footers.......Izzinmac...they still have miller lite available!!

BC left at 11:30 but went to The swan and POR so we didn't actually leave WDW 'till 12:05.....kind of a bummer.

GC is destroyed!!!!!!! The only thing opened are the shops.......Hardrock cafe won't open 'till Feb. The small grill we went to was sold out of almost everything.........hamburgers and "non american" hot dogs and fries were all that was left!! At 12:30!!!

Del Sol ran out of the " freebie" offerings........and they said we could "redeen our coupons in Cozumel", they were out of inventory everywhere except the jewelery stores.....and they were more expensive than back home. I purchased a Rolex at a local jewler for 365.00 less than the cheapest I could find in GC (sshhhhh Willie or other 11/20 sailors be quiet it's her xmas gift....just like the one I'm wearing!!) ...........I'm not complaining but they should have not rushed it....JMHO.....do a shore excursion....the beach was beautiful and the excursios were running.........I did go to Hell.....that was cool but NO MILLER LITE there........

It has been a wonderful trip so far!! All of the people that we met from Disboards are great!! We had a great time in GC today. The weather was perfect--80 degrees. We took our DS on the Nautilus Undersea --it was great!! We saw sharks, barracudas and stingrays. We then gave him the choice--Oceaneers Club or shopping--he chose the Club. We had lunch at Breezes--overlooking the water. Very good!!

The shows have been great on board--Golden Mickeys last night and Hercules tonight.

Tomorrow we will be in Cozumel. Take care!!

I am hoping that someone on board can help me with a question. We are trying to book our REAS package for our NYE cruise but I need to find out if Flounder's is usually open in the morning on the Key west day. If anyone is using Flounder's would you mind asking and reporting back. I would greatly appreciate it. Hope everyone is having a great trip. We can wait to sail again next month.

Hi Lampskies,

Could you please elaborate on what you mean "...........I'm not complaining but they should have not rushed it....JMHO.....do a shore excursion...." Is it worth it to do an excursion in GC? What is your or other's experience with their excursion in GC? Did anyone go to the beach by themselves? Which beach did you go to?

We will be on the western cruise in two weeks. I would like to get an idea on what excursion to pick in GC.

Thanks and have a wonderful cruise.

We were on the 11/6 cruise and I'll try to explain what Lampskies means. The island is totally devastated, and outside of the downtown area, the island is still barely functional. There area a lot of shortages of items even in the downtown shops, so it can sometimes be a challenge shopping. She was recommending doing an excursion so you'll have a planned activity while onGC. It is really the only thing to do now, due to all the damage around the island.

Sad to hear about Grand Cayman... its the one Western Port I've never seen and wanted to. I can imagine it must be very difficult to rebuild on an island, just the logistics alone, let alone the cost. Even hear in Orlando, there are still thousands of blue tarped roofs and downed trees, street signs, etc... Can't imagine what Grand Cayman must look like.

Lampy...

Can you find out if PJ is back in Palo for me??????

Thanks...

Phyllis

If you can....see if Que from Cruise Staff is onboard....I know he told me he was leaving the ship for a bit in November and wanted to know if he left the ship yet!!!

MJ

ONE MORE THING....

Can you check your Navigator and tell me where the ressies for
Palo are being taken???

And the change of dining rotation too.....

Thanks
Phyllis

On the 11/6 sailing, those changes and Palo ressies were all in Rockin' D Bar starting at 12PM.

MJ: Que left the ship on November 6th. They were talking about him leaving to go on vacation and it being his last Pub night for a while on the last night of our 10/30 cruise.

If you have been to Orlando its NOTHING like GC. Yes, a shore excursion is recomended by me. The 7 mile leach looked functional but as we drovw around the island every open lot had fallen trees all over them! The island was brown and yes, the resturants and shops had little if anything left....If I could do it again and we had to stop at GC I'd probably do the 7 mile beach or rent a taxi and take a tour of the devestation.....I was told the side the ship docks was hurt the least.......

Today though......we are in BEAUTIFUL Cozumel!!! I open my verandah (after seeing a possible 4-6 inches of snow for N.W. Indiana) to 86 degrees.....very hot! We went to the Magic/comedy show last night, very funny and the 80's flashback afterwards......Myself and 2 other disers got picked to be Jon Bon Jovi and band on stage......Gotta get ready for the fury beach party!!!
