I am currently sitting in our king size bed in our 2 bedroom at SSR:banana: ! We are staying in Congress Park for the first time - it is great! But, the rooms are starting to show some wear and tear compared to the Grandstand. The weather was BEAUTIFUL today - around 78 degrees! First, we walked to DTD which took about 5-10 minutes. The kids loved walking! We purchased our annual passes at Guest Relations - which was really quick:cool1: . Then, we caught a bus and headed to Grand Floridian to take the monorail to Epcot. (DS-5 loves:love: the monorail). Well, on the way from DTD to Pleasure Island this kids threw up right next to me:mad:  which made me sick - I am sooo an anti-vomitter:sick: . Everyone got off the bus at Pleasure Island, I head to the nearest bathroom with baby wipes to clean my shoes - I little throw:sick: got on my shoes. Anyway, got that taken care of and finally made it to Epcot. Didn't stay there very long due to ADR at Sci Fi at Studios. We took a taxi from Epcot to Studios (about $9), it was worth it after the bus experience. We walked around Studios for a while just taking in the scene. We had a great dinner at Sci-Fi - the kids had a blast:cheer2: ! The crowds are pretty light. Well, I am off to get some rest.....oh by the way - internet:surfweb: is NOT free.....

Sounds like you're having a great time (Minus the vomit) I would have gotten sick as well.

We were thinking of requesting Congress Park. Does your room face DTD? And since you've stayed at Grandstand (we love it there) which section do you like better?

Also, surprised to hear internet is not free. Thought it finally was free at all DVC sites.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation. And thanks for :surfweb: .

They have said that it will be Spring before we receive the free internet.

dbprimeaux-yeah, I think that would definitely count as a downside to using the Disney Buses....but luckily it was just your shoes! :rotfl:

Spring? That works for friends we're traveling with. Thanks for the info.

Glad the weather is great.. but blech on the vomit! You would think I would be used to it.. Having pretty much raised my 2 little sisters when I was younger and now having 4 kids myself.. but ewww!

Hope the rest of your trip is puke-free

Sorry about the sick kid episode. all else looks great..next time you might try taking the boat from epcot to studios, nice ride and its free.

I....oh by the way - internet:surfweb: is NOT free.....

When we were at OKW we got the message each day when we connected to the Internet that it would cost us $9.95/day. We accepted it assuming we would be charged, but at the end of the week we were not actually charged.

Thanks for the report....I would love to be sitting on a king bed
at any of the 1 BR right about now:goodvibes
Have a great trip

Yay, DB!! Sorry about the up-chuck on your shoes though... yucko.

:cloud9: We just returned from a morning at Epcot. First, we had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare - which was GREAT:love: !! We then took the monorail to Epcot. OMG:scared1: the crowds were horrible:scared1: . We waited in line for Spaceship Earth (about 30 minutes) while DH went and got Fastpass ticket for Soarin' - (BTW it was around 10:30-ish AM). The Fastpass tickets were for 6:00PM tonight:scared1: !! Well, then we did Ellen's Energy ride and NEMO and saw the fish. We walked over to Mexico and ate lunch - very disappointed in the nachos:sad2: . Oh well, at least we are at WDW:lovestruc . We are now resting for tonight - pirate: princess: party at 7PM. Oh, and last night we had - ice cream sundaes (warm brownie & espresso):worship: from Ghirdaella's at DTD. I also had a GREAT sandwich (Earl Club) at Earl's Sandwich Shop at DTD.

Yesterday, we had breakfast at Animal Kingdom - Tusker House Donald's Safari Breakfast. I was pretty good... I like 1900 Park Fare better...:rolleyes1

BTW - it is about 80+ degrees here! It was outright HOT today....LOL!:lmao:

Just a report from me....

WhooHoo... We're here too... Also staying in Congress Park... DB, it looks as if we had the same agenda today. We also just got back from EPCOT a little while ago. We brought my mom down for her first trip to WDW. We're going back this evening to see Illuminations. I told her since we missed Wishes and the SpectroMagic parade, we at least need to see the show at EPCOT.

Can you belive this weather, 84 degrees, nice breeze blowing. All of you folks from "up north" should be down here now to experience this!

I am like you, I think the Congress Park sections is beginning to show some wear and tear. Nothing major broken here, just a bunch of scuffed walls, some corner protection trim loose, and the carpet showing some wear. However, I am not in the least bit dissatisfied.

Anyway, I hope you guys have fun. And for the rest of you "poor working" souls out there.... "Get back to work and quit surfing the net while you're supposed to be working!" :)

Oh DB, I forgot to ask in the last post.... Is there anyone left in the state of Louisiana? This morning at EPCOT, every other person I saw had some sort of shirt from LSU, the Mardi Gras, or some other Louisiana reference....

Inquiring minds want to know.....:)

Duane

dbprimeaux,

Do me a favor. Go take a walk over to Grandstand and see if any of those lights on the pathway (by the golf course) are out. Two were out on NYE and I never got the chance to tell the Front Desk. It's been bugging me ever since.

If you go to the Front Desk evening on they should be less busy. Just tell the gal (or guy) at the desk and they'll have maintenance fix it quickly. Judging by my October trip, those lights tend to go out a lot. They need to use better bulbs methinks.

Oh and did the lifegaurds ever get a replacement clock for the HSR pool? Fool kids broke it last summer and maintenance told them it had to be special ordered.

Duane,
Yes there are lots of people left in Louisiana! Us folks who were not so lucky to spend Mardi Gras at WDW!!:goodvibes

And La. folks are mighty proud of our Tigers this year and love to let others know how proud we are! My niece sent me a pic today of an LSU flag flying at a ski place in West Virginia. We're everywhere!!

I love staying at Congress Park. Sorry to hear about the bus trouble. And hope you have fun at the P&P! Please let us know how it was... I'm still undecided if we should attend! popcorn::

Well, we just returned from DTD... We had dinner at Rainforest Cafe' - which so far has been the best food, yet! We had dinner last night at Cap n' Jack's at DTD, and yuck:eek: is all I can say.....very expensive. We spent the day at Disney Hollywood Studios:cloud9: . The crowds were much heavier today compared to yesterday. But, the wait time for Tower of Terror and Rockin Roller Coaster was short. Fantasmaic was GREAT:banana: !! I still can't get over the weather....it is about 80 degrees....LOL!

Ok...here comes to complaining... I am so disappointed in the Mousekeeping. The only way we could tell that the room was "cleaned" ...was the trash was emptyed. "Emptyed
....they didn't even replace the bag....since when is Disney saving on trash bags???? We found clothes in the drawers and toys under the curtains. My DH vaccumed because the floor was so dirty. I just think it is sad that we "PAY" to be DVC members and the rooms at the All-Stars Resorts are cleaner. BTW - there is no more DVC discounts at the World of Disney Store at DTD.

But, I am just glad we are here at Disney:cloud9:

They have said that it will be Spring before we receive the free internet.

So, I wonder what they call "spring"?!?!?!? We arrive at AKV March 1, so I wonder if that qualifies?

First, we had breakfast at 1900 Park Fare - which was GREAT:love: !!
Yum!

We walked over to Mexico and ate lunch - very disappointed in the nachos:sad2:
Oh, I hope that was just a glitch.

Oh, and last night we had - ice cream sundaes (warm brownie & espresso):worship: from Ghirdaella's at DTD.
Yum Yum Yum Yum!

I also had a GREAT sandwich (Earl Club) at Earl's Sandwich Shop at DTD.
One of our favortite counter service in WDW! Yum!

Yesterday, we had breakfast at Animal Kingdom - Tusker House Donald's Safari Breakfast.
Yum!

Thanks for the report. We will be arriving on Sunday:cool1: . I was on the fence about bringing sandals and capris, but no more.

Is Spaceship Earth permanently open now? I keep reading 2/18 and we have to leave on the 15th, so it would be wonderful if we get to ride after the rehab.

Have a great time!
