We LOVE this place and are ready to move in! The cast members are nothing but fantastic, everyone has been so happy and helpful. We ate at Boma and are doing Jiko later in the week, we are on deluxe dining and are already stuffed. We arrived around 10 am Sunday and had done online check in. Our room was ready which we weren't expecting and then another surprise, a savannah view with bunk beds for DD even though we only paid for standard. It's been a magical trip so far and I don't want the week to end!

Sounds amazing. Yeah for pixie dust. We are staying for 1 night at AKL in October for the first time. Savannah view. Also on the DxDDP. What did you think of Boma?

We will be checking into AKV Kidani on Thursday. We have a 2 bedroom savannah view reserved. This will be our first stay here. Can't wait. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

I feel it's probably not a great idea to post room numbers until after we've checked out. Not that we have stalkers here, but who knows, in general, not a good thing.

Will be there in 19days... wishing for a little pixie dust.. we are traveling with 2 little ones this trip and could use the bunk beds..
We love AK... Everything about it.

Does the room seem more spacious w/ the bunkbeds? I paid for pool view BB, but sure hates spending the $250 extra on the bunkbeds!

Thanks for the post. We will be there in 45 days for two nights and are NOT going to the parks....just enjoying the AKL before we move to OKW for four nights.

The room seems plenty big for us, 2 adults and an 8 year old, I think having bunk beds makes it seem more spacious. We are on the sunset savannah and have seen most of the animals listed, there are no zebras on sunset though. I think our view is probably what is considered obstructed, but we like it just fine. I'll post some pics when I have some more time, we've been out late every night. Tomorrow should be a more relaxed day.

We liked Boma, but there were so many dishes we didn't get to try, so much food!

We will be there in 50 days. Can't wait! We love AKL. We have a pool view BB room reserved and I hope that it is nice. We have never done the BB room before. We are surprising our kids with a trip for MNSSHP. I hope they are excited! Enjoy your trip!

Thank you for your live update! I appreciate this and find it very helpful. I am so happy that you are having a fabulous time. This is consistent with what I've read about AKL.

So glad you are enjoying you stay at AKL. It will be 88 days before I can be there. can you give some insight to the activites there at the lodge? I changed my schedule to free me up on at least one weekday so that I can do some. Hoping to be able to make some african jewerly. Thanks and would love to see some pics when you get a chance.

FarmerSue, we will be there about the same time! It's our first trip to AKL and we are so excited! I had the hotel fax a list of activities and thought the jewelry making sounded like fun as well! Enjoy your trip! Thanks OP for the update, i'm even more excited if that's possible

I am so glad you're enjoying AKL so much! It's our very favorite WDW resort. The atmosphere is so unique. I always feel like I'm going home when we stay there. We were there last February and also got a Savannah View upgrade, which was such a thrill when we weren't expecting it. Great CMs there - I agree!! In October, we are returning to WDW and staying at a mod. It was the only way we could go back a second time within the same year so that we could go to MNSSHP. After reading your post, I'm missing AKL!!

We haven't done any activities yet but might today since it looks like it's going to rain most of the day. We were at Epcot yesterday while it was raining and I just need a break from wet, squishy shoes!
