Wolfpackfan and DW are back at WDW this week staying at OKW. This is our second time during F&W and I am really looking forward to eating a lot of great food and have some good beer to go with it. Instead of doing my usual daily update, what I want to do is just update my pictures everyday and let that serve as my TR. The link is below in my sig and my pictures for this week will be in the first album. So as to not confuse you too much, we did stay at POP Century last night as you will notice from the pictures, but checked into OKW today. Got a nice studio overlooking the golf course as requested (building 15). No problems at all with the room and really liking the free WiFi. I have a laptop, an iPad and two iPhones connected with no problems. We've already hit Epcot and MK and am heading back to Epcot for dinner (F&W kiosks of course).

I will leave a post here each time I update the photo album. If you have trouble getting into it please let me know. And of course if you have any questions at all while we are down here, let me know also.

Later.

Monday morning update -

Well we woke up this morning to rain and it is supposed to rain on into the afternoon. Bummer, but then considering there are so many folks today that don't even have any power, I can't complain too much. I figure we'll just put on our ponchos and head on out. I had planned for us to go to AK this morning, but will probably go back to Epcot, since there are more things we can do there inside.

I added a few more pictures to my web album (link below).

Enjoying your pics! Please keep posting pics of the menus at the F&W booths - DH and I are going for an adults-only F&W trip in 2 weeks and I love the preview of all the yummy eats!

Will do.

Monday afternoon update -

Well the day turned out pretty good after all. The rain stopped shortly after lunch and the sun has been out since then and it is absolutely beautiful here now. We hit Epcot this morning and did Soarin, Living with the Land, Living Seas and Ellen. Had lunch in The Land (DW and I both had soup and then split a veggie flatbread). I have to say I am very happy to see Disney offering healthy eating options at various restaurants now. More so than I can remember in the past. We had lunch yesterday at Columbia House and they offer a number of healthy choices and so does The Land. Then of course I kind of ruined it by hitting some food kiosks after lunch :lmao:.

This afternoon we hit MK because DW wanted to see the folks with their Halloween costumes. Saw a number of interesting costumes. Plan for tonight is DTD.

I've added a number of photos to my Picasa album (link is below). Enjoy.

Great photos. Glad the weather cleared up for you, too. Quick question about the OKW resort. Do any of the patios face the parking area? Also, the coffe pots, do they take the cone filter or round filter?

No, all the balconies face the back of the buildings. We lucked out and are looking out over the golf course. The coffee pots take the round filter. Be careful with the pots though. Yesterday I started the coffee going and went and took my shower. When I came out, there was coffee everywhere. I don't know what went wrong but the coffee maker wasn't working right. It was a real mess to cleanup. I called housekeeping and sometime during the day they bought me a new coffee maker and it worked fine this morning.

One thing - when you check in, check the location of your building. Some locations can be pretty far away from the bus stops and/or the Hospitality House. The CM checking us in was great and basically asked me where would we like to be. I told him kind of close to HH with a golf course view. It took him about 10 minutes and a phone call but he got us a great location. So you don't have to take the unit they pre-assign you. But check while you are at HH.

Tuesday morning update -

Well vacation is 1/3 over. Sheesh time sure goes fast. Plan for today - AK this morning, HS this afternoon and Epcot tonight (F&W food kiosks for dinner).

For those that are big fans of F&W - my favorite dishes so far - Cheese soup in Canada, Chipotle sausage in Canada, Coq au Vin in France, Sushi in Japan, Shrimp Taco in Mexico and Pot Stickers in China.

Will update my pictures tonight.

Later.

Bummer. Morning coffee delayed. That would make me grumpy for a bit. Good to hear housekeeping is still doing a good job.

Thanks for the check-in tip. We'll be there next week. First time at OKW so I'm not really sure what building to ask for so I've been scanning every OKW thread imaginable to hear other members' opinions. I am glad to know the patios do not face the parking lot.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Tuesday afternoon update -

As planned we hit AK this morning and then went over to HS. Low crowds at both parks today. I did a walk on at Star Tours as well as The Great Movie Ride. Also did a walk on for our Safari at AK. Had lunch at Flame Tree BBQ at AK (love their ribs and onion rings). Now we're back in our unit resting up. Plan to hit Epcot this evening and eat at food kiosks for dinner. You know, I'm still trying to decide if eating at the kiosks for meals is a good thing or not. I love the food, but the costs can mount up pretty quick. But then again, say I get four items, that would cost about $20 maybe and would probably be about the same amount as I'd get at a restaurant. So that's not too bad, especially considering we're at WDW which is expensive anyway you look at it.

I am uploading new pictures as I type this. I know I am posting a lot of pictures and I hope folks don't get tired of scrolling through all the older pictures to get to the latest, but that is just the way Google Picasa works.

So that's it for now.

love the pics. thanks for posting

Wednesday morning update -

Plan for the day - heading to MK shortly. Then have lunch ADR at Coral Seas (never eaten there before). This afternoon hope to hit the "movies" at Epcot - Canada, France and China. Tonight is completely wide open. We're at that stage in our trip when we've really done everything we want to do, so the rest of the trip is just relaxing and enjoying being here.

Later.

This is just great! We'll be OKW for the first time next week, too! We're really enjoying your updates and the pictures. :)

Wednesday afternoon update -

Hit MK this morning and crowds were very small early on but had got larger by 11:00. Did walkons at Peter Pan, Snow White, Winnie and Buzz (can you believe 60 somethings doing Winnie :lmao:). Left MK around 11:00 because we had a noon ADR at Coral Reef. I got the lobster soup and mussels and DW got the crab cakes. Excellent mussels and soup. We then basically did a walk around World Showcase. Saw the Canada and France movies and hit several food kiosks. Then did American Adventure before heading back to OKW.

Plan for tonight is DTD and dinner at House of Blues (plan to split the Jambalaya). Plus do some shopping.

Added still more pictures to my photo album (as usual link is still below). I've just about taken pictures of everything I can, I think.
