If I wasn't bogged down with 20 loads of laundry right now, I would sit here for an hour pointing out how interesting it is that people on the same exact cruise can have totally different experiences or opinions about it.

We just got off the Magic, and I will only take time right now to say that we had a totally different experience than Windermerejudy. I thought that we had the same close, wonderful interactions with the CM's as we always have. I didn't run into anyone who was sick, nor did I hear of anyone being sick. I think with all the handwashing, DCL was being extra careful, more because we were in Mexico than for any other reason.

And so far, everyone's guessing about Que have been wrong. That's all I'll say on the subject.

Granted, it wasn't the Caribbean, but anyone who expected that it would be was kidding themselves.....and it wasn't DCL's own terminal, either...so yes, things were very different. But it was still Disney, and still wonderful.

I'm glad to hear you had wonderful interactions with the CM's. I'm going on another curise line besides disney this summer(first not disney cruise) and I hope I meet as nice as people I have met that work on disney

Geez, JustMeStace did not mean toffend you so. 1. You were not on the same cruise I was on so how can you comment on our week. 2. I have traveled far more than probably most of the people on these boards. I travel all over the world every other month and grew up on the border of Mexico so I knew exactly whta to expect. I am commenting that MY particular cruise experience was different than any in the past. I thought we could be open and honest here. I did not realize that we had to sugarcoat things and always be superbly pleased about everything. The cruise staff we encountered stated that some of them had been ill and like I stated earlier my mom went on the behind the scenes galley tour and they were not allowing passengers in the kitchen areas due to "increased incidence of gastrointestinal disorders aboard the ship" Just because you do not experience sickness does not mean that plenty of others are not as lucky. You act like you are accusing me of making things up. I do not understand why when I am just a nice person trying to report things as I saw them, which is obviously not through the same pair of glasses as you saw them on a different week, you have to jump all over me. I am a very honest person that speaks my mind. If you do not like my opinion ------get on another thread and write your own.

On another note--- I was not starting rumors about Que. All I said is that he was no longer on board and they said he left suddenly not of his own accord. There is nothing wrong about that. If there is then maybe you should take that up with the cruise staff that told us that. I don't know Que like you oblviously do only casually from Bingo so I could have no possible reason to want to ruin his reputation. I think that is between he and DCL. Movin on to the new staff.

Oops sorry I did just notice that you cruised on our cruise. How come you did not hook up with any of our DIS group and then you might have seen some of the sick people.

Please re-read what I wrote. I really just wanted people to know that everyone sees things differently, and that we didn't see it the same way that you did. I was hoping to let people know that although some of your experiences weren't the best, we had a great time.......no attack, no "jumping all over" you.

DCL called and offered us a room far too late to join in the DIS festivities.

And, I didn't say YOU were starting/spreading rumors....I said that "everyone's guessing" was wrong.

This might be taken as "jumping all over" you.....Don't you find it a little hard to say that you probably travel more than almost thousands and thousands of people?? (The number of people on these boards). How could you possibly know how much we all travel? :confused3

I did reread what you wrote and I also went back to rearead what had given you the impression that I thought the whole cruise was terrible. There were many fabulous things. DisneyDarwin who also had a live thread stated the same exact thing that his wait staff was not as attentive as in the past. Our waiter and asst. always seemed behind. Sure if you were one table over it was probably altogether different. I don't know how you totally saw things differently than we did as most of what I wrote about related to excursions, ports, events, schedules... The differences in our opinions probably boil down to a couple of things. The reason we were so attuned to sick people is that happens to be our families profession and we had 4 peole out of 6 come down with symptoms towards the end of the cruise. We avidly washed our hands throughout, but all it takes is one weak link.

I am not guessing as to how much anyone travels. I was only trying to make a point that we do travel a lot and we did not expect it to be like the caribbean. I am not sure if you thought that was why we were "disappointed" but we really were not disappointed only know we would never do west coast again. Just too far. I am sorry if my trip verson seemed to you like we were let down. There were a lot of new crew on board and I think they are still learning. Kids club for example where everyone is still around, was fabulous, great....We also had the best wait staff last time ---guess most would pail after that. AND we too were on that infamous Xmas cruise and almost anything is a back step from there. It was my best vacation in several years. Never ever saw my cabin steward so ----no comment there. I was let down that Travis, Que and now Doug are gone YES!!!! but we will get to know the new ones and life goes on. Or as Timon says Hakuna Matata.

Stace--I really am not trying to upset you. I would like to settle matters. I am sorry if I offended you. I hope your version was as fun as mine.

Travis is gone? or is he just on vacation right now, because I heard from someone he was coming back in the end of august, not that I care really because now since both Que and Doug are gone I wanna meet some more of the cruise staff, so I can't wait till August 19th 2006 cc 2 times and meeting people two best things to do on vacation

Judy,

Also, justmestace was not on the repo cruise when the incident with Que happened. DCL is not going to tell anyone what happened with him othe rthan what they are saying, he went on to bigger and better things. Since I was on the cruise and had family members and friends witness what went down, I hardly would say it was a "rumor" as justmestace said.

Anyway, it took me a long time to get used to the 3 hour time change again! We are going on the Wonder next week and spending a few days in WDW before and after. Should be fun. Hopefully the water will be warmer than that Pacific!

I also noticed on our repo cruise that there were a lot of new faces.

Glad you made it home safely and thanks for all the updates.

Debbie you are a lucky duck to go back after repo so soon. Weather here in Orlando is gorgeous. Sunny and light afternoon showers to cool things off and clear out the parks for us. I nearly froze to death the first day at sea and the last. I guess I am a Florida wimp. What all do you have on your agenda for FL?

I know I was told more than that he had moved on to bigger and better things by 2 cruise staffers in private when DCL bosses were not listening. I know the shocked looks on peoples faces when you would mention him. No I do not think Travis is gone Marla but he was not on board for our cruise.

I do know it was something that happened on the last 2 cruises which correlates with Debbies info but honestly it does not matter. He is not on our favorite cruise line any more for whatever reason so now our favorites must become Renee, Ang, Gary, Jessie, Dessler, ....It was kind of fun trying to pick out Gary and Jessie in the roles in the shows. I still think Renee and Ang are Minnie. Maybe Dessler is goofy??????

Judy,
Actually the cruise coming up was booked before the repo cruise. We are taking our grandson who will be 7 months on this one. Well, we have to take his mom and dad as well, and his aunt and uncle! lol :teeth:

Glad weather is good. My best friend lives in Altamonte Springs and we are going to meet up with her and her dh before the cruise and after. We will be staying at OKW. We will be back in August for 2 weeks at OKW. Then we are taking a (Princess (whispered) cruise) in December out of Ft. Lauderdale. We've never cruised on another cruise line so this should be interesting.

After we left Cabo, it was very cool. No one was out on the decks and very few in the pools. Part of my cruising experience is getting some deck time! The last day, people kept talking about how cold it was. (I'm always hot so it felt really good to me) I'm not sure what the incentive really would be to cruise out of LA unless you really go to some warmer places. The water from the time we went through the Panama Canal was cold. I'm sure it warms up through the summer, however, when we lived in San Diego and went to the beach in July, water temps were like 60!

As far as Que, hope he finds what he is looking for. I just know what I was told and what I personally witnessed on the repo cruise. Also, I think that if they kept the same crew members, after awhile they would get boring anyway.
