Hello all Disboards members. My family & I have arrived at the Contemporary & got a un expected surprise, an upgrade to a Magic Kingdom view from the Bay Lake Side. The reason is our origional room was not ready, so because we waited they upgraded us to a MK view & we are in room 4829.

Just got back from Downtown Disney, purchased 32 new pins, 2 Year Of A Million Dream shirts & had a great meal at the Earl of Sandwich.

How are the crowd levels this week? We are going the week before Christmas next year. We normally go the second week of December, but bumped it back a week for next year.

The number of guests must be high, from what I saw at Downtown Disney. They were busy, but it was very easy to move around & etc. What I can say for sure is the Contemporary is really enforcing the parking rules with a lot of spaces being closed off. We came back last night around 9:30 PM & saw a mini van in front of us told to turn around & leave. So even at a late time you can still be turned around & told to leave.

Congratulations on the upgrade! I'm glad to hear about the parking situation. I can't tell you how many times I came back to the resort in the mid-afternoon and had to park a LONG way away while TONS of places opened up after the MK closed.

I am getting so tired of waiting for our trip in June you are very lucky. Although my experiences at Contemporary weren't very great it was very beautiful when we were there at x-mas. I loved the trees in the lobby. i just wish I could be at PORiverside to se the decorations. We go there every year but I can't recall if we were ever there at x-mas, Have Fun keep us updated!

Did you request a MK view or Bay Lake? We are also staying Atrium Club and we requested a MK view last Feb. Thanks for the tip about the parking lots being full. We arrive tomorrow and have just decided to valet park. (that is the lot right in front isn't it?) We don't plan on needing our van, but we don't want to park way out either.

Have you been able to see any work being done in that area?

On the Atrium Club you do not make a reservation for the Mk side, or the Bay Lake Side. They have to be requsted. When we checked in they said we were on the Bay Lake Side, however because of us waiting in the lounge with our suit cases, they decided to upgrade us to a MK view room.

Yes the valet parking lot is the one in the middle that you can see from a MK view room.

Yes the tennis courts are closed, along with half of the spaces in the North Garden Wing parking lot. So there is a huge fence that blocks the spaces that have been closed.

CR Resort Fan 4 Life, I hope to get over to MK in time for the 7 AM EMH once or twice during our stay. Do you know if the Atrium Club lounge will have anything out for us early birds? I think I heard (probably from your prior posts!) that coffee/tea service starts at 6, but I was hoping the kids would be able to get juice and maybe a little bit of food before we head out for these ultra-early days. Do you know if they plan to adjust their serving schedule to compensate for the MK's extra hours?

My gut feeling is the food is placed at 7:00 AM, although I can ask them & see what they say.

Yes the internet is still free & your kids can watch DVD's on the DVD player that is right undernaeth the TV.
