Live from Disney! (with pics)

- Seems to be easier working backwords in the forum thread, thought I would post some quick replies while Cass sleeps and I fold my clothes.

Jill: It was our pleasure to do that for you, we're glad you enjoyed the photo and got some "magic" from it! :wizard:
Spread the magic I say, my Mom taught me it's easier in life (and especially on your soul) to be considerate and kind than rude and arrogant. I have a lot to thank my Mom & Dad for the values I have as well as in my adult life and perhaps even more so, to my best friend and wife, Cass.

The empty hammock picture is for all of you DISers out there waiting for your next vacation and you can use the picture as your background (without having us in it and feeling weird about it) & think to yourselves when you finally get to CC - "it's about time I used this hammock, it's been waiting for me since October 28th 2005!" :goodvibes

Thanks for the well wishes gang, Cass is sleeping as I speak and me, well I'm on my nth wind it seems. I'm like an Energizer rabbit sometimes... (hmm, no wonder I frustrate my wife sometimes, I don't stop working). Cass needed a footrub tonight and she almost fell asleep while I was doing it; she's pretty wiped. I'll be sure to give her more footrubs and backrubs speakupjc :) Not sure about the courtyard, will have to ask Cass about that.

& Mickey0216, we fly back to Calgary on Wednesday on Westjet; so hopefully Cass will be up to three more days of posts. The trip is 22 days in length and costs an arm, leg, and then some; but it has been worth it! Cass and I have had a blast so far and that two hours in the hammock was the icing on the cake regardless of how sick we are now. We are so glad we got to dock at CC (thanks again Captain Thord and to all the Disney Staff at CC for doing that phenomenal cleanup job!) and we just got to hang out together; Cass sand note says it all I think

Thanks for that awesome comment btw Pigasus, we're proud Canadians and happy you feel the same way too!

Hmm, why am I thin... hypoglycemic and a fast metabolism really. Then again, I have put on a few pounds on my frame in the last few years, I'm a whole 157lbs; 160lbs if I'm wet. Then again, if I take off my "tool belt" I'm down to 152lbs. Cass will have to explain that to you though I'm sure my friends and family are laughing at me right now.

BTW: How as your birthday CJK? You'll have to let us know.

cjhentschel: Thanks for noticing my Stormtrooper T-shirt, that really made me smile :)
You can get the M&M's Star Wars t-shirt here
; though I'm now getting a Neimodian voice running through my head asking if that's legal and if the forum administrators will ban my thread link.
Anyways, PM me if you're interested in knowing where to find the shirt, you can't find it any store except for these two places.
I would love to come down for Star Wars Weekends sometime as a CloneTrooper and see some of the DIS family kids in costume

Aside: No ice cream today, but the two I had in the photo at CC was a Strawberry Yogurt (tasty!) and Cookies N Cream Cookie Dough (very sweet with dough chunks in it, it was almost too much for me). I also had Pluto's ice cream again at the end of the night. That is the TASTYEST soft ice cream on the ship and I love the swirl :earseek:
I wish I could have eaten more....
Well, it's time for bed. TTFN!
Robert

Well us late night Disers will keep you company Rob! Thanks again for that fantastic note you wrote to me and Don, it was so appreciated. My DS17 just came home from a halloween party and I showed him and he said, "sweeeet". He loved it. I actually made it our wallpaper, yes, you'll be our wallpaper for a few days Rob!! :teeth: Hey, hope you can catch some zzzz's tonight to enjoy the rest of your vacation. Hope to read more!

I wish I was arriving on Wednesday instead of Thursday b/c I would love to take you both out to dinner! Cass - we all hope you feel better. The WL is a great place to recover. Thank you for all your hard work and devotion.

BTW - Where is the tag fairy when you need him/her! :wizard:

having a really great time reading your reports, so much so I am in planning a land/sea cruise for my family...but...as you will come to find out when you guys have little ones running around (good luck on that BTW~~ ) the bill goes SIGNIFICANTLY higher when adding a jr or 2 or 3, in our case!!! So for now, I am living my cruisefantasy thru your thread!! :sunny:

As for the weight issue: I think I have gained 5 "photopounds" just by looking at you two eat!!! YUUUMMM...

To Cass:

I am an assistant teacher in a Computer Apps class at our high school. We are working on Webdesigns and I thought I would use your website as an example for my students!! I love how your music and effects work on your video clips!! We are in the process of using Imovie, Iphoto and garage band in class!!

I really do like it a lot!!

hope you two have a great "what is left of vacation" TIME!!

I remember the last leg of our Poly trip... WAAAAA.....

this keeps me going til I get back!!

PS Met some GREAT Canadians on ME in Sept, my were they super friendly!!!

We even have pics of them!! And by chance got behind them in fasspass line at Soarin' and rode that with them!!! Guess they figured Iowans are close enough to Canadians!!! :rotfl:

Cass I hope you feel better soon! I am in the planning stages of our next trip and your report is helping so much. We won't be doing the cruise though until my little guys are a bit older, but it is hard to to just do it after reading the great time y'all are having. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

This was so great, just signed on in HOPES of more! WOW OH WOW! I am going to book another cruise, we are going through withdrawal now. Hope you both start feeling much better and can enjoy the rest of your trip. It has just be wonderful reading all the posts from you two. Thanks for all the fun reading.

WCC is great to but sometimes a little to high on noise. Be sure and see the EWP out on the beach at 9:30 it is so cute. Waiting for next installment as I countdown. Pixie Dust to you both and well wishes.

:confused3 Ugg, this was a rough day for all…

I forgot to mention that I went for one last dip in the hot tub on Friday night, ahhh it was heavenly!!! :cloud9:

Went to bed last night at midnite and tossed and turned for a bit. My throat started to get sore and before long, I was coughing up a storm! I was coughing so bad that I kept Rob up all night and ended up getting less than ONE HOUR of sleep which was tough! Immigration in the Walt Disney Theatre was a breeze then back to the room for an attempted nap. Curses, foiled again!

We got up, said good-bye to Orlando, our room host and then down to deck 3 at 7:45am. Just as we got there they opened up the doors to leave the ship. We grabbed our luggage and met M & J outside. Jeannine and I stayed with our luggage while Rob & Moose went got the car from budget. Apparently there was a huge line for the car rental and it took them just over an hour to get back. We had rented a Chevy Blazer which we thought would work out with the luggage thing…hmm well, after some strategic packing and sitting with all our carry-ons on top of us, we managed it :smooth:

day18-1.jpg

We drove to the Royal Pacific Resort, R, M & J got the luggage taken care of while I ran in to get checked in. We walked over to IOA and Rob was seriously on his last legs so we needed to get some food into him fast! We stopped at Croissant Moon so he could refuel with the apple pie he likes and he also got a fruit cup which, after eating all that great fruit on the Magic, was very disappointing and he also got a chocolate croissant, which was terrible, but then again how could you compete with the croissants on the ship???

day18-2.jpg

We rode Spidey, then Doom and then Hulk. I was so disappointed in the FOTL this time. Although it was better than the regular waits, it still wasn’t great. I would say on most rides, we ended up waiting in the Express line the same amount of time that was posted for the regular line (except Jurassic Park, which was almost a walk on).

We did Ice Dragon, JP and then we waited for M & J while they rode Dudley’s. We got a corndog and diet coke while we waited.

Oh before I forget, Rob was the victim of a fly-by-hatting on Jurassic Park LOL
During the drop, he was beaned in the head with someone’s ball cap.

It was funny cus the ride photo shows the hat half way from the guy’s head (just after it came off his head) heading in Rob’s direction LOL

day18-3.jpg

Rob also took a photo of my injury LOL It was from the night before when I started packing on the ship. I had forgotten to take off those silly little locks that come with your luggage…I ended up scratching my left thigh with it ouchies!!!!!!!!

day18-4.jpg

Before we headed out of the park, we stopped for one last ride on Spidey! What a great ride!

day18-5.jpg

We walked over to Universal Studios and did Shrek and the Mummy before I finally felt like I could not go on anymore.

day18-6.jpg

I was tired, had lost my voice sometime this morning, had only eaten half a corndog all day long and still felt like I was on the ship which normally, I would LOVE but it just made me feel woozy now!

We said our good-byes to M & J as they would be leaving for home tomorrow morning and we wouldn’t see them again. We had a great time with them and I am glad they were able to join us this trip!

We walked like Mummies over to Margaritaville for some yummy daiquiris which felt VERY good on the throat and got our room number and our luggage and headed to Tower 1 this time for our King suite. It was the same room but flipped, if you know what I mean…

I was a little disappointed in the hotel this time since we never got our milk & cookies ( for being a Loews First member) never got those amazing robes (although my precious hubby phoned and got me one!) and when we opened the door, there was this HUGE ball of long blonde hair on the floor right in the middle of the foyer! Yick!

We ordered some chicken fingers from Room service, got some extra pillows and after a foot rub and a large amount of cough syrup, I passed out somewhere around 7pm I think.

You can tell I was really sick since NORMALLY, I take about 100-200 photos per day and today I took a grand total of 18 PHOTOS!! Hahaha! I didn’t even take a single photo of the room! Normally I am yelling at Rob to keep the luggage at the door so I can take photos first LOL!

Oh well..

Tomorrow (actually today since I woke up really early) we may be heading back to Universal for a few rides before we drive over to the Wilderness Lodge (standard view) for the last 3 nights.

Oh, before I forget, kudos to Dreams Unlimited! They got us GREAT rates for our cruise AND got us a great deal for the WL! They even e-mailed me about 2 weeks before we left to tell me that they Disney had reduced their rates and saves us almost $200 USD!! We always use Dreams and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend them. Anything to support the DIS!

Thanks again for all your replies! The cruise was great despite it being another Eastern for us. I am glad we got to go on the Magic again! I am also grateful that we were able to dock at CC, even with the damage, it was gorgeous and we loved our hammock time!

Gonna go back to bed for a quick nap. :rolleyes1

OH....MY....GOSH!!!! Is this what it feels like to be a celebrity?? Thank you soooooo much for wishing me Happy Birthday on the island!! For a brief second, I thought I was dreaming! I ran out of the room and grabbed dh so that he could verify I wasn't losing my mind! ;) That's as close as I've ever been to Castaway Cay! Thanks for making this birthday so wonderful! I confess to feeling slightly sorry for myself for not being in Disney again this year, but you, Rob & Cass, more than made up for it! THANK YOU!!!

I hope you're both feeling better soon. Hopefully those daiquiris' did the trick! You guys are such a fun couple! Any thoughts on moving to Ontario??? :) We could tour Canada's Wonderland together and pretend it's Disney. Rob - my husband, also named Rob, will join you in the ice cream eating department. ;)

Thanks again for posting such a wonderful trip report and making my birthday so special! I hope you get some much needed rest and enjoy the rest of your trip. In the meantime, I'm going to investigate booking our next cruise...;) :goodvibes :goodvibes

All I can say is wow!! :earseek: :earseek: I came across this thread last night and just finished it this morning.. First of all I love your trip report and thank you for taking the time out to do it.. The pictures are awesome.. :cool1: I have cruised many times but not on DCL.. we will be cruising next year on DCL and you have gotten me even more excited.. I didnt think that was possible :teeth: Honestly I dont know how Im going to be able to wait that long.. It is obvious to me that you two were meant for each other.. and I hope that life brings a little baby your way soon-- You both certainly deserve it.. I will say though that I chuckled every time I came across a new day and Rob was eating again.. :rotfl: Looks like you guys are having the vacation of a lifetime..

Cass and Rob, Your report is super!!! Have followed it all the way and am enjoying the trip right along with you all. The way that you write makes us feel as though we are with you. Sorry that you are not feeling well, Cass. My DD has got the same thing right now. Came down with it day before yesterday and is now loosing her voice. Something in the air. Feel better and keep the vitamin C flowing!!! Take care!! :wizard:

I am subscribing here - with a 7 week old baby I am only able to read a few pages at a time. Just found it this morning and it is making my day! I LOVE this report!!! :flower:

Sorry you aren't feeling well Cass! I hope you are able to enjoy your last couple of days.

This trip report has been so much fun to read. I really can't thank you guys enough for taking time out of your vacation to let us all "tag along". It's been great and it's really gotten me excited for our trip coming up.

Tell Mickey I'll be there in a month- I know he's been wondering where I was! ;)

-Loreli aka Mermaid02 :teeth:

Rob, you were so sweet to Cass to give her those backrubs and foot massages. Cass, you do something sweet for him to ok. You guys are so sweet and perfect for each other so always have fun (taking the children to DW is also fun Cass so I would recommend trying it if you are ever blessed with a child.). In fact my DH and I will be taking our 2 year old to WL for the first time this Thanksgiving (At one she did DL). Seeing the excitement in her eyes made us realize that is was priceless. We went to DW when we were dating now we are going as a family - Wow what a ride!!! As far as coming off the ship and being let down I agree with you, however, WL is the perfect place to start getting back down to reality. We don't want you to (if we could take a vote you would be on vacaton forever) but it is the perfect transition. We stayed at a resort in Hawaii coming off of a cruise and did the transition thing. We were sure glad that we did and I predict that you will be to. Here is sending you some more pixie dust and hopes that your trip will continue to be magical (and that you guys will be well). Rob enjoy the ice cream and Cass try to find something to eat that you love. I know that you have been to La Cellier but we highly recommend the Yachtsman if you haven't tried it.

Rob, I had to laugh when I saw that picture of you giving the chocolate croissant at IOA a thumbs down. DH got one last year and had the same reaction. He loves bakery, but tossed that croissant out after a couple of bites.

Have a nice time at WL. I love just relaxing in the rocking chairs in the lobby. Such a nice way to unwind.

Cass and Rob,

My Dh and I have really enjoyed reading your trip reports, they are great! We are getting ready for our first ever Disney cruise in January so your reports have been psyching us up! :goodvibes  You two are so sweet to post all this for everyone, thanks so much and have fun for the rest of your trip!!
