Good day fellow DISers!
I am filling in for Cass as she is not feeling up to snuff today and had a fever for most of the evening. She has not had her voice all day which is very unusual for her and she now appreciates how I feel when I lose my voice every time Im sick.
With DST kicking in today, our late checkout was a bonus for us to get some extra sleep. Cass enjoyed having the robe for her in the room, however after 45min of discussion with the RPR Concierge staff, Star Service, and eventually the Front Desk; I found out that the robe is $75 and is not sold anywheres at the hotel, so essentially you have to take the robe in your room and youd be eventually charged. Unfortunately, the robe we got delivered to the room had a hole in the back of it and after I told Cass that she decided she didnt want the robe after all.
Being used to
DCL Topsider Breakfasts sure kills the budget when you get back, as the fruit plate ($13) I ordered with a coffee ($7) plus tax and 20% gratuity; came to just over $28. As we were checking out, we paid cash ($30); making it one of the most expensive fruit plates I have ever eaten. Cass was very ingenious in making me a fruit salad by using the excess cream for my coffee and putting all the berries (well, most of the berries as she ate the four pieces of raspberries) into the coffee pot that is in the room to use as a bowl. As you can see, I was still thrilled to have fresh fruit no matter how expensive it was. Though it makes you wonder that at those prices, we certainly ate the value of the cruise.
After our 12:30 checkout at RPR we made our way over to Wilderness Lodge, with Cass being my trusty Navigator, Camera-woman, and Videographer.
With a standard room, you have two queen size beds which to Cass delight means six pillows, enough for any woman to be happy with!
If you plan on staying for any length of time, you have to have the standard resort mug for a low price of $11.99. Heck, I think I drank that in Diet Coke today already if we had to pay for the refills weve had.
Weve had two meals today and of course, they consisted of chicken strips in both meals and Cass had a hot dog at lunch in conjunction with some of my strips. Its a good thing I love her, those strips are darn tasty!
We went and checked out the shops after we ate and Cass took this picture of me checking out the price on the statue. We already have one which is now currently residing on her computer desk if I remember correctly. This one is HUGE compared to the one we have and as we love the WL I might consider getting it to be a centre piece on our home theatre system; though it is $90.
Of course, we had to have desert so on the way back to our room we picked up some Mickey Ice Cream sandwiches together. Unfortunately Cass was feeling quite ill after getting some food in her and couldnt finish all her ice cream sandwich; she asked if I wanted the rest of hers but as I was still eating mine, I said not exactly right now and she was about to throw it away but I quickly stopped her, theres no sense wasting a perfectly good ice cream sandwich so I quickly ate the rest of mine and ate hers slowly.
Cass rested for most of the afternoon as she had a wicked fever and we watched Ghost together. We missed our Chef Mickey PS as Cass was just too ill to go, so we just had our chicken strips and some vegetable soup for supper. She didnt enjoy the soup as much as it has no potatoes in it; I loved it though regardless; foods food ya know! I was just plain hungry. Darn cruise, you starve after you get back.
Cass felt up to a bit more activity after the rest and the Tylenol kicked in to break her fever a bit, so we went outside at 9pm to catch a bit of the fireworks from Hallowishes and the Electrical Water Pageant.
After that, we came back to the room and she went to check out the hot tub while I write this report.
Upon her return 15min later, she quietly said that it was a good thing that I didnt go as the temperature of both tubs were terrible, one was cold and the other was luke warm; I would have froze.
Well, our itinerary for tomorrow is PS for Whispering Canyon at 10am and then
MNSSHP in the evening; but really everything is tentative depending on how she feels. I am way healthier today than I was yesterday and have a bit of a cough though no where near as sick as her; nor was I last week as sick as she is now. Tuesday is scheduled to be a day at Typhoon Lagoon and the evening at Pleasure Island. Wednesday is our last Downtown Disney day with breakfast at the Rainforest Café if we can swing it.
With that all said, I bid you all a good night and magic dreams!
