LIVE from Contemporary Resort!!

We arrived today into Orlando and took ME. First experience with this, overall very good. The bus route was Poly, GF, WL, CR today - so it was our last stop - but from landing to resort was just over an hour. Check -in was smooth - not long lines, but our room was not ready. It was only 11:30am and we wanted a higher floor than 6th so we waited. We spent the day walking around the resort - the construction inside is loud - but only until 5pm. You cannot hear it from our room. We are on the 11th floor MK View!! View is superb! We can see, 7 seas lagoon, Poly, GF, and MK to the right. Ate lunch at Tempo Grab and Go - this was OK, not too many choices just pizza, hot dogs, cold sandwiches, etc. Overall - a great first day! I'll try to post everyday with updates on either resort or park.

I'm looking forward to your updates! I'll be staying at the CR in early December. See if you can find out when Mickey's Express is scheduled to open.

Thanks for live update and just like crazy4wdw asked try to find out information about the opening for Chef Mickey's Express. Also the next time your at the Tempo Grab & Go can you tell me if they have Pibb Xtra on the soda machine? Besides that have a great vacation.

OP, we are currently at the CR but leaving tomorrow we have approx. 9 bottles of Aquafina water & several flavored water juice boxes that we are not taking with us (also some Mtn. Dews & an ice pack). If you want it, I can probably leave it at the front desk for you in a bag. If you'd like it, PM w/ your name & room number if you want (not sure if that would be necessary) & I will have DH run it downstairs in the morning. We have late checkout & will be here till 1pm so contact me before then if you can. We stopped at the grocery store on the way here & have too much left over...don't want it to go to waste!!

We are leaving in 12 days (aug 16th-22nd) for a grand gathering at the Contemporary! Yeah me! I'm curious about late check out. I called today and the women told me that I have to ask mousekeeping on the day Im due to leave if I can have a late check out time. Anyone else familiar with this process? Our flight out is not until 7pm or so, which means magical express will be looking for us around 4 or so. being "homless" from 1pm on would be better than being "homless" from 11am till when we are due to leave. Looking for info. from the experienced Dis'ers...

Based on what I have read I think you need to call Housekeeping the day before you leave to see about a late check-out, so they know not to come right away to your room on the day you leave. Besides that have a great time and maybe I will see you around the Contemporary, since my family and I will be there from August 18th - August 30th.

We heard November for the opening of Chef Mickey's Express. Below are some photos.

You can see Temp Grab n Go in the front of this photo.

They are working 6 days a week making lots of noise. Had late breakfast Saturday morning noise was pretty bad. Can't hear the noise from our room so things aren't that bad!
