JK Rowling is a very private person and doesnt like to do appearances.

I think it's really weird. I thought for sure she would cut the ribbon or whatever. One of the HP sites reported that she is there, but I haven't seen her at all and no one has mentioned her. Very weird.

I've seen pictures of her there on other sites but apparently she is a private person and wants the opening to be about the park and not her. I'm sure she is there just out of sight. If you remember from Wednesday night's event one of the Universal guys gestured towards the audience when he was thanking her.
