littlest pet shops

Welcome to the "LPS Club", one purchase is all it takes before you're officially sucked in! :rotfl:

There is such a wide variety of packages to get started, everything from single pets to tubes of several pets to playhouses and carrying cases!

One great way to start would be to get the Little Lovin' Playhouse (retails for about $19.xx) which comes with a nice sized house and a handful of pets. They also have sets around $12.99 or so that include a small playhouse and 2-3 pets. The single or pair of pets retail for anywhere between $2.99-$6.99 depending on where you shop (on average, it is about $3.XX-$4.XX) so if she wants an additional specific animal, you could get a pack or so of those to go along with it.

You can find these at Family Dollar, Big Lots, Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Sams Club, Kohls, Limited Too, Toys R Us, etc., so depending on where you shop, you can find lots of different deals and various playsets that would start her with a few pets and a playhouse for her to play with them in.

Good luck and happy holidays! :wave2:
Thanks for this advice because I felt the same overwhelmed feeling when DD told me no more polly pockets its LPS time for me and I want hamsters.

I went to Target and it seems that the Lovin Playhouse was like $39, but I may have not looked at the right sticker on the shelf.

The Biggest Littlest Petshop house runs around $40, but the Lovin' Playhouse is smaller, and runs around $20. :)

leight - the newest ones are usually the hardest to find. I searched for a couple of months for the sea horse this summer, but now I find it often in my area (it varies by area too :) ) - the sea horse is a favorite with the girls around here. Right now, some of the ones that seem the most sought after are the chinchilla, snail, spider, squirrel. A new set should be released after Christmas (some have already been found in stores, like the teeniest sets, and the picnic time w/ladybug). Then it should be easier to find the ones from the last set.

thanks to whoever posted that they had found the teeny tiny petshops at walmart, I just trotted over there and not only did they have all 3 sets of those, but they also had the tricks and treats playset. dd will be pretty excited on christmas morning. :) thanks again. (oh, the teeny tiny petshops were NOT in the aisle with the other pets, they were on the back wall of toys where auto stuff rows come in before the toy rows).

I had no idea LPS in general were hard to find, but I went to my local PX (think small version of walmart for military) to return a magic motion one that I got for DD that didn't work and they didn't have ANY on the shelf for me to exchange it for, not just magic motion ones, no LPS at all! I was so surprised, I was going to pick up a small pack to replace that one for her stocking. I asked someone that worked there and she said nope, they didn't have them. I was just in there before thanksgiving. Is anyone else running into this, or just with hard to find ones?

I have to admit, though, even I like the LPS toys, I got Dd the hamster set last year for Christmas when she pointed some out at the store and I couldn't believe how cute they were.

LUCKY YOU...how much were the Teeny Tiny ones?

the teeny tiny ones are 9.98 and the tricks/treats playset was 14.98.

Wow-I haven't even seen the tricks/treats here either. :sad2: What area do you live in? I haven't seen either here in So Cal.

I did just find the skunk/cat sets at Long's Drugs. :goodvibes They had 2, on sale for $5 (reg. $6) I grabbed one for my DD and one for my adult niece. Those were the only hard-to-finds I saw there.

I think there are 2 spearate pieces meant to go side by side with it - one is shaped like a shoe (if I remember correctly) - and the one I have is a leaping frog thing - have to take a look - has been hidden away for a month or so.....

sorry, meant to edit - not quote myself....

Cool! Can you tell us where abouts you are located? TIA

Our Target has been carrying the 2 pieces that will connect to the Tricks & Talent piece since before Halloween, but I never picked them up.

I called & left a message for DH to check Walmart for the teenies after work. :teeth:

My Hasbro order still hasn't come, and I was hoping to get everything wrapped before we leave for wdw. :sad2:

AWESOME...I bought some yesterday on eBay for $40.86, so now I don't feel like I paid too much.

hey, sorry, I'm in northern va. I think y'all are right it's the tricks and talent show playset and the leaping frog with the lily pad set connects as does the dog on the slide set.

I bought my DD the leaping frog set a few weeks ago and I've seen the shoe shaped slide set. What I haven't seen around is the one (Tricks, etc) that goes in between. I'll keep looking! :cool1:

Can anyone tell me if the LPS tin Target exclusive was one time only, or if there is supposed to be more coming in? I have heard both ways from Target employees and I need to either get the motivation to keep trying to find it, or be put out of my misery for looking!!!

Thanks!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they were limited edition and the ad they were in said "Once they're gone, they're gone." :guilty:

That's okay! At least it puts me out of my misery of feeling like I need to check Target every day!!! It was getting to the point of needing therapy!!
