My buddies are making me jealous! I don't know when I will get to see the light of Disney again... I imagine fares are not fun to deal with right now with all the uncertainty with NWA. Mpls. is a big NWA hub, so we hear about it constantly.

So, with you two going to Disney soon, and me having an event in Chicago in exactly two weeks from tomorrow which requires me to wear a pretty dress and cute outfits, I guess we have some buddy work to do!

I signed up for a half marathon on Monday... or Tuesday? It's here in the town I live in, and I got my friend Julie to do it, too. She lives a few hours away, but we are training together -- following the same schedule and posting it to each other on myspace. I have run 6.6 miles so far in training -- that's half the race! I am determined and really want to run the whole thing (I have to finish in under 3 hours however I choose to do it).

Anyway, emotionally I have been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride with stress, relationships and life, but I'm coping and having something to look forward to and work for helps a lot.

I really need to go to the health club so I can weigh myself so I can keep track of if I lose weight and whatnot. Or at least take measurements perhaps. How exactly do you take measurements? (Yes, I am dumb sometimes)

Anyway, keep it up, gals! Sorry if this is long and random, I am falling asleep!!!

GOOD MORNING!!!!

How are my girls today? I am doing great.

Yesterday we went into D.C. and had a nice lunch and went to the planetarium. Lots of walking, (in wrong shoes :(, cute but wrong :rotfl: ). It was a beautiful day and I slept well last night.

I tried on all my shorts yesterday, the same ones that fit in january, and none of htem fit. I have 12 days to lose a few pounds and get back into them.

This morning I walked 1.5 miles, did upper and lower abs, and some light weight workout. I feel good and I am going to have a bowl of cereal. It is going to be another beautiful day. I am going shopping with a friend.

Good luck this week!! I took all the junk food out of my apartment and am not getting ANY starbucks this week :)
 
Amanda - It looks like you are going to be at WDW at the same time I was supposed to be with my mom. Work obligations and the airline rates have but a stop to this though. Have a wonderful time!!!!!!!

BTW - I have gained so much over the winter that none of my shorts let alone my jeans fit anymore. I had to buy a couple new pairs because even the ones before I lost weight do not fit anymore. It was a horrible realization that I came to this weekend.

I am starting over totally and completly tomorrow. I need to find a plan that I can stick with.

Hey girls, where are ya???

I got back from Disney last week with a nasty head cold. Have been really under the weather. Doing better now and and actually lost 3 lbs last week :)

Disney was great, weather was beautiful for the last two days. We ate some great food and I walked a ton!!

Work is pretty good, this is my last couple of weeks. Hopefully they will have my replacelment in just a few weeks, interviews tomorrow. I am planning on being back in NY by the end of the month.

Hope you are both doing well!!

As for me - I am actually doing a little bit better with everything. I made it through 1 1/2 weeks on an eating plan that seems to work for me. Yesterday was a bad day eating but I am back on track and doing well today. I purchased a Pilates DVD this weekend and will be giving it a try tonight.

We find out today whether our mother/daughter trip to WDW over Mother's Day weekend is going to happen or now. Wish me luck please :teeth:

Hey girl!!! Sounds you like you are doing great! That is fantastic that you found an eating plan that works for you. Wanna share it with us?? I am crossing my fingers for you about your Mother/Daughter trip. Ours was great and we really had fun.

So guess what?? I am in my size 10 jeans this morning! Whohooo that is a whole size down :) I know if I can only fit some excercise in my week, I would probably drop a couple more sizes.

I found out today that we will not be able to go in May but we will be going in July with my DS. We will be staying at the BC/WL for this trip. I am little bummed out but I am working on making the July trip extra special.

My eating plan is basically the South Beach phase 2 but watching the calories too. Menu has been like this lately with a ton of very lightly flavored Crystal Light (can’t drink plain water yuck).

B – Yogurt or Smoothie (I make a great one with Soy milk)
S – Kashi granola bar
L – Salad and either a lunch meat or tuna sandwich with whole wheat bread
S – Orange or microwave popcorn (very low cal)
D – Salad, lean protein (chicken or low fat beef), and veggie
D – This is what keeps me on track as it is my reward – Homemade Dole Whip (pineapple sherbet and pineapple juice).

I am not loosing as fast as I did on the regular SB plan but I think it is something that I can stick with. Today I went out to lunch and made do with a salad and the toppings off of a couple pieces of pizza. I am trying to make this work.

My problem now is the exercise part. I’ve started walking on my treadmill but I don’t really enjoy that. I prefer to walk outside so I need to do that. I also bought a Pilates tape which I need to try out.

That sounds great! I am glad you are still going on your trip even if it's a little later.

The food sounds good, but I feel like I would starve!! My first step was cutting out sweets. I used to have something everyday. Now I don't, I was actually going for a little while without any!! I tried doing oatmeal in the a.m. but I think I was actually gaining weight, so back to cereal for me.

One step at a time I guess is key. Excercise is the next for me.

I've screwed up major this weekend after doing so good. I am SO MAD AT MYSELF :guilty: :sad2:

I went out to eat Saturday night and had a fried food and then today I ate quite a bit of chocolate from the candy I had bought for my son.'

I don't know why I do this to myself :guilty:

Hope you both had a better weekend then I did!

Hey!! Don't let it get you down. It's no big deal, just 2 days. You will get back on track today, and make up for it by drinking extra water!!!

Remember to think of all of this as a lifestyle change. And things aren't perfect everyday :) Just get back to it today!!!!

Oops! I totally haven't been DISing enough, I guess! I haven't been checking in at all!

Well, here's a rundown...

I have been RUNNING like a madwoman! I am doing my half-marathon next month (May 13th). Saturday I did an 8 mile race. I was not first, and I have a lot to work for, but I ran the whole 8 miles!!! I sacrificed a toenail (I thought that was a myth...)

I've been working to keep my eating under control and actually THREW AWAY my junk food this weekend! I am finally realizing that "garbage in = garbage out" as my running really gets crummy when I eat crummy stuff!

I hope WDW was great for both of you! I think I am going in June -- small crisis came my way (meaning: I don't have a job... :guilty: ) So, mom and dad decided that was what I needed. They are brilliant!

Anyway, I don't have much time, nor can I think straight right now, but I will make this week's goal to check in with my DIS buddies!

Keep posting your stuff -- it must feel good to be accountable! I will work on it, too!

Amanda - Thank you for the reminder :goodvibes I am back at it today and are doing okay. Tonight I am going to make my DS's basket and then wrap it in plastic wrap so that I will stay out of it!!!!! I may even take it over to my parents house if I have to :rolleyes:

Ashley - Nice to hear from you! Wow 8 miles :cool1: That is absolutely wonderful :cheer2: . I am so glad that you are doing so well even with all the stress in your life. Your parents must be amazing. Mine are as well and though my trip for earlier this year was cancelled we are planning on going in July for a week :banana:

Tonight I am some how going to get out of the house and on the road. It is 72 degrees here today :smooth: Since I posted it I will have to do it!
 
I did it!!!! I manged to get out and actually wog last night for the first time in months :cool1: I am very sore today but will be heading out again tonight as long as the rain holds off :umbrella:

I was ravenous after the wog though and ate somethings I shouldn't have so I do need to purge the house of sweets.

Hi girls,

I've got good and bad news to report:

1st the good - OUR TRIP IS BACK ON :cool1:

We have our plane tickets and ressies at the Pop for the F&G Show for May13th-May15th and we have our plane tickets for our July trip (waiting on the AP rats for the BC/WL).

2nd the bad - I've been eating tons of Easter candy. I've tried to play the hide it from myself, ect, ect and I keep eating the junk. Today is a birthday party at work so I know I'll be eating badly. I've given myself until Easter to eat poor and then I'm getting serious for my upcoming trips.
