Little trick for getting pet hair off carpet

If your vacuum doesn't get the dog hair up good enough, I know mine doesn't. My Polish friend was over and showed me this: Take your sneaker and rub it along the carpet and it pulls the dog hair right off the rug!!! Forgot to mention, it works for area rugs and runners too, that's all we have. Then you're getting some leg workout too

I use my moccasin slipper to pick up dog/cat hair. We also use a scrub brush. The hard bristle type that you would scrub a floor or tile shower with. Just comb the hair into piles, then throw the hair out. This works great on the stairs especially.

Rubber gloves would work too.
It's the rubber part that does the trick. Remember the purple rubber sweeper that was on an infomercial years ago? That thing works, a PITA to use but it works. Although rubber gloves are cheaper, have to get down on the carpet to use it tho.

I just discovered this trick for myself last week. I was stretching my legs and noticed all the hair my shoes were gathering! Then I got obessed with getting all the hair out of all the rugs! But we stopped into Bed Bath & Beyond and found a tool called Pet Hair Magnet and it looks like a big squeggie (sp?), but it works great!
