I want to get my 1 yo DGS a Cozy Coupe car for Christmas. Are they all basically the same size? I'm interested in either the originial red/yellow Cozy Coupe or the police or fire one. I want to be sure it has the removable floor board as he's too young to push it with his feet at this point. Anyone have any of these? It sounds like some are smaller than "the original", but I think those are older models. Anyone know?

I have no idea which one is better but I just wanted to say that Cozy Coupe has got to be one of the best toys of all time.

My DS loved it and he is almost 21, we had the red & yellow. It was the most popular toy at our house, at friends houses, at church, daycare etc. My son learned more life lessons with that dang coupe ;) sharing, giving in even when you are in the right and most importantly not standing in front of a moving vehicle........

DD 10 years later, same thing. Now, she was not quite as enamored as her brother but that coupe continued to have the same type of following amongst the preschool set. My neighbor has one for her son and he LOVES it, I smile every time I see him in it.

IMO go with the classic Red and Yellow - classic or vintage is all the rage:rotfl: either way I bet you will have a hit on your hands

lol, my DS (now 21) had one oh so many years ago. Back then there was no removable floorboard, I guess that's something new. But we still laugh about it today because my DS would get SO annoyed and frustrated with the cozy coupe. The steering wheel did not operate the front wheels. In other words, he could turn the steering wheel all he wanted, but it did not turn the wheels. He got so mad at that. Even at a year or so old he made the connection that when you turned the steering wheel on a real car, the car turned.

He still tells us how it was so evil and how mad he was at it :rotfl: !

:thumbsup2 My 2 year old niece has one and she loves it, too. :cloud9:

My kids were deprived and never had one...so they had to play with the neighbors.

We bought the red/yellow Cozy Coupe for our grandson last year. It's the anniversary edition, which I think is a bit narrower than the original model. I love the fact that this newer model has the removable floorboard, a sliding lock on the door, and a small storage space in the back. The storage space looks like two cup holders, but our grandson uses it to put small stuffed animals or other toys in it.

Our grandson was a bit over a year old when we bought it for him. At that age, of course, we kept the floorboard in it and he'd sit in the car while we did all the work pushing him all over the house and up and down the sidewalk.:) However, he LOVED just playing in the car, opening and closing the door, taking toys in the car with him, and just sitting and playing in the car. He also liked to open and close the gas cap.

Our grandson just turned two, and he has just recently let us remove the floorboard. He didn't want us to take it out for the longest time.:) It didn't take him long at all to learn how to manuever the car with his feet. At first, he would only push himself backwards, but quickly learned how to go in all directions. He has become very proficient at hunting down things to purposely run over.:rotfl:

I think the Cozy Coupe is a wonderful toy for toddlers! Just don't lose your cool when assembling it. Some of the pieces can be frustrating to fit together properly, especially when attaching the roof to the body of the car. Just thought I'd mention that!:)

How funny to see this. We were at DH's grand-neice's 3rd birthday party today. There, in the yard was a red/yellow Cozy Coupe. Well, we come to find out that this particular car was originally DS's (he's 13 now). We passed it to 2 cousins who are 9 and 7, and they passed it to Grand-Neice. So she makes the 4th cousin to use this car, and it still looks good.

Sorry no advice, but thank you for bringing back some great memories. My now 19 and 16 year old sons had the red and yellow cozy coupe. The Christmas my oldest got the coupe he also got a Barney stuffed animal. It was so cute to watch him put Barney in the back and go for a "drive".
He also picked up a bad habit from his Dad. He would open the door and pretend to spit.:sad2::lmao:

I have twin sons who are now 22yo. I can easily say that their cozy coupes were there favorite toys ever. And when they outgrew them they were passed down and eventually sold at a yard sale, they held up so well. And that is with considerable use.

Well the 16 year old brother of my little guy and his friends were riding in it this past week:rotfl2: So yes it has gotten lots of use.
