From what I understand, you can almost always use your fastpass later than the sceduled time, except for the shows which have a specific time posted on them. What about the Little Mermaid in DS? Can I grab a fastpass in the morning and come back at dinner time and still use it for the next show? :cloud9:

You are incorrect. Show up between the posted times or get turned away.

Now I have scene people get admitted at 2:10pm when the fast pass says arrive between 1:00pm and 2:00pm....but they will not let you on early. If you get thjere at 12:55pm, they will make you wait till 1:00.

That being the case, most people line up for The Little Mermaid before the time posted because the show only handles so much. You could get there and the que could already be full for that show, and you just added another 27mins to your wait time.

Moral of the story is...DO NOT BE LATE FOR YOUR FASTPASS TIMES.

I haven't tried it but the fastpass was exactly like the ride fastpasses with an hour window for return not one specific show time.

Last time I saw Voyage of the LIttle Mermaid (5/05) they let Fast pass guests in first, then they let regular guests in, until the show is full. Late Fast Pass guests can still get in while the regular guests are entering but they too will be held back when the show is full. Also the Fast Passes had a return time window of about 15 minutes corresponding to an "assigned show" instead of the typical 60 minutes for rides.

I don't know about Little Mermaid specifically as it is a show but for attractions that are rides, you would rarely get turned away for having a late fastpass.

I'm curious to see how this thread goes, as I've heard both ways. It's probably up to the discretion of the fastpass CM on that ride.

I have witnessed it many times. Showing up late is just as bad for the "fast pass system" as showing up early.

If you are more than 10 mins late, they will and do turn you away.

I have also witnessed it working many times so I guess it depends on the CM. :flower:

I assume you mean for shows only?

Don't know about WDW but at DL you can use a ride fastpass anytime after the window until the park closes. I've never fastpassed a show though. Hope someone can give you a definite answer!

Not at all. Disney has all kinds of pc programs that predict when to advance the fast pass window based on how many tickets have been given out.

It does not good if they expect 100 people to ride TOT between 1:00pm - 1:10pm.....but have 120 people show up because 20 of them were late for there 12:00-1:00pm window.

Interesting though that they still let it happen.

I would suspect they might take a harder line about it related to attractions that a scheduled shows versus continuous rides.

While your logic may be correct, the reality is CM's will let a late fastpass go through w/out any questions asked...not saying it's wrong or right, just stating the facts as observed on previous visits.

Yes, exactly.

A fastpass for a ride can be used beyond the one hour window that is shown on the ticket.

A fastpass that is for a show (Little Mermaid, Car thrill show at MGM, Millionaire (I think) MUST be used for the time shown on the fastpass. It will NOT be honoured for a later show.

I have shown up late many times for FP rides and shows and have never been turned away. I have had numerous CM's tell me "you can never be early, but late is not an issue". They realize you could have problems with an ADR, an issue with another ride breaking down, etc. Last year, we arrived about 2 hours after our time for Mermaid, and all the CM did was look to be sure it time was earlier than the current time on her "FP return" clock.
Just my experience, of course.

We have never been turned away using a late fastpass. We show up late for rides and shows all the time and are always let in. We must get all nice CMs or they let everyone do it. And yes, we did this for Little Mermaid on our December trip. We skipped the show that the fastpass was for and come to the next one. Mind you, we are at WDW around 30 days a year and always show up late. We never get turned away. They must not like you. LOL!

Quattro -- I hate to disagree with you but my personal experience (and the experience of nearly everyone who has reported it on this board and other boards) is that this is not true. It appears to be up to the individual CM what is an acceptable delay. One individual posted they were 8 hours late for their FP and they were still admitted (with some good-natured ribbing). I'm not disagreeing with you about how the system "should" work for best efficiency, I'm just saying that the reported experience is that CM's will generally allow people in after the stated FP window. However (getting back to the original question), I don't know if this applies to shows.

Besides, can you imagine the bad press Disney would get if they started seriously enforcing the window?

Thanks for input. I think we'll risk it on the late fastpasses. We aren't hitting Little Mermaid until later in the day. It's not real high on the list for me personally.

Three days to go!

You probably won't even need a FP at this time of year. We have only needed them at really busy times, like Christmas, summer, etc.
