Little Mermaid Closing?

A friend of mines DD was just recently hired to play Ariel in the show so I really do not think they would hire her just to place her somewhere else?? She is going to be one of my stops when I am up there.. both Ariel & friends DD (Kristen)...

I can't believe they would close LM! I LOVE that show and even when I go during the off seasons the theatre is always full!

I did hear a rumor though that they are thinking of adding a Monsters Inc attraction to MGM...I hope they aren't planning on putting it in where LM is.

I'd be sad to see Millionaire go too though...it's really a cool show!
I know alot of people miss it because it's down that side "alley", but I tell everyone to be sure and check it out!

Well, as a Mermaid puppeteer myself, I can tell you this much- nothing about closing has been mentioned to us that I'm aware of.

Awww not the little mermaid.. thats one of my sister's favorite princesses

First, I must do a happy dance, for all of the Ariel merch to come for my little mermaid (Ariel ofcourse)
:woohoo: SHAKE SHAKE, WIGGLE WIGGLE :woohoo:

Now then, I remember when I had a hard time choosing if my fave was VOLM, or the Hunchback of Notre Dame :sad2:

I'm Angela. I'm only trained in turtle. :) I did it bunches last summer. I don't do it a lot anymore because I'm now in Toontown, but I'll be there tomorrow.

I will definately be sad if Mermaid ever closes! It's been there forever.

When Jim Hill mentions that something is going to close, it does not mean immediately. For the poster who doubted the DisneyQuest closing, I have heard MANY sources support that the building is going to close in 2008 for an ESPNZone.

It was often cited that Tarzan Rocks (a very popular show -- it was always crowded when I went) had to close because of the outdoor building getting all of the noise from EE. However, they didn't have to replace the show with Nemo -- the word is they did that because they had Tarzan going on Broadway. So if The Little Mermaid is supposed to be on brodaway within 2 years, then............

cp sebastian .. names Chris.

Please note that I did not say that JHM was reporting the LM was closing, I stated that a comment by RogerRMjet on an article by JHM stated that they are closing Millionaire and Little Mermaid. I hadn't heard anything about that so I was wondering if anyone else had. Based on the comments posted it doesn't sound like it which is a good thing! We love LM and don't want to see it close.

i don't know why think the braodway thing has anything to do with it.

Beauty and the Beast was an on going show throughout the broadway run and is still operating today.

Count me as one who has been to MGM several times, but has yet to see VOLM...It is my top priority for our trip this year (hitting MGM on Day 1).

Awww, missing Hunchback!!

JHM sometimes gets it right.. and sometimes gets it wrong.. and sometimes gets it VERY wrong.

Grain (no scratch that ... BLOCK) of salt to a lot of his stuff unless you see a Disney Press Release to back it up.

I heard this same rumor on one of the podcasts, either WDW Today or Inside the Magic, can't remember. Anywho, they mentioned that the rumor is to close WWTBAM and open another Toy Story based ride. This ride would not have Buzz, but would utilize the other characters and story line of Toy Story.

There was no mention of closing VOLM, only WWTBM.

I think another ride in the Studios would be great!!

I hope this is only a rumor. DD wants to see this show, it is one she loved so much from last trip ( she was 3) and still remembers it. It is a must do for us. :sad2:
