Little Girls in the Mens Room?

Personally I think we have way to many hang-ups with nudity and sex in this country, and that is the real issue at hand.

That being said my kiddos are 16,14 and 11. My boys, the older two have been tag teaming the bathroom since they started school. My daughter on the few occassions shes been out and about with her dad without me has either went in the mens restroom or he has stood outside and made her talk to him while in there. That continued until she started school. Since kindergarten she has been allowed in the restroom with someone outside waiting or me going too since then. None of them are allowed to wonder around without each other at WDW.
I don't care who is using the bathroom when I am. It could be a small boy or an adult male. If I had to I would easily use the mens restroom. Perhaps the solution is to do away with urinals or put them inside stalls.

I wondered the same thing. :confused3 If they need to be in the bathroom with you-then they need to be WITH you.

Why? What if I had 3 little girls? Same amount of people occupying the same space? Do you really begrudge 1 STALL, 1 STALL, that is it. I think you are grasping at straws here. :confused3

the reality is it is much more likely for your child to be assulted by a family member or friend than a stranger in a public place.

Five people close to me were sexually assaulted as children. The perps were, in no particular order, a father, a step-brother, a step-father, a babysitter, a stepfather.

Not one of these people were ever assaulted by strangers in a public bathroom at Disney or anywhere else.

I'm sorry to hear that. That's awful.:worried:

I am sorry to hear that! Awful and yes that is the case most of the time. Most of the time it is a family member or family friend. There are times that it is a stranger too. Or a stranger that does something inappropriate. I know.

It comes down to what the parent feels comfortable with.

I must be weird. I don't care who is in the bathroom. I just want to get in, do what I gotta do and get out to have more fun. As long as the bathroom is clean, has TP and towels, I'm a happy camper. Bring grandpa, your five cousins and the marching band in for all I care. Just do it quickly so the line doesn't back up!!

I agree! As long as they aren't in the stall with me --- who cares!:thumbsup2

On days where the lines are really long, I might even let them share a stall with me if they asked nicely. lol :rotfl2:

No peeking!

How is 3 little girls in the girls room the same as using stalls as a "holding" area for boys in the girls room? :confused3

We just had a situation where we went to the ladies room. There were two stalls. One stall was locked (per the employee stationed there-"someone" locked the door of the stall and climbed under and left). The other stall was in use. There was an older lady in NEED of the restroom. I asked my dd to climb under and unlock the door for the lady. This poor lady was soooo grateful as was the employee. So yes, in some cases I would begrudge 1 STALL.

The bottom line as with most of these threads. People are going to do what THEY want. It does not matter to them HOW they affect other people. Some people have even come right out and SAID they don't care if they affect others.

Child-free, not childless. Childless is implying we want something we can't have.

Dictionary: "less" an adjective suffix meaning "without" (childless, peerless)

no joke--the childless example was in my Dictionary
Random House Collegiate Dictionary Revised Edition

Are we getting a little silly? can't we all just get along??

Look.. people who choose not to have children refer to themselves as child-free and they perfer others do the same. I'm not just pulling this out of nowhere. Technically, I'm not even child-free. I want children, but not anytime in the near future. I'm having way too much fun for that.

I really don't know what the big deal is. If a woman brings in her 10 year old son or 90 year old father, I'm not going to feel uncomfortable washing my hands in front of him and him seeing me wash my hands is not going to scar him for life.:goodvibes

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know the last time time that a reputable news source reported on an incident of an unaccompanied minor of either sex being assaulted in a WDW park restroom? Can anyone point to even one actual instance of this occurring? (And, no, "friend of friend" stories don't count.) With 40 million people passing through the parks every year, you would think that if this was really an issue, we'd hear more about it.

Obviously these incidents didn't happen at Disney, but they are 3 incidents (the first two links are the same case) which happened here in NJ/NY within the past year or so A quick google search yielded these results. Are you trying to say that pedofiles don't go on vacation? I'm sorry, but if a mom wants to bring her son into the ladies restroom, so be it. And for those who reference moms who don't want their children in the stall with them, there is certainly "that time of the month" to consider. I always brought my DD with me during "that time" and made her stand outside the stall with her feet under the door so I could see her at all times. I don't think dads have the same issue. I would think that 8-10 is an appropriate cut-off age for bringing opposite sex children in restrooms, but I think people need to cut each other a little slack.

I'm sorry but that's just disgusting. You had your daughter climb on a dirty bathroom floor because you (or the older lady) couldn't wait? I would NEVER ask my child to do that, not for me, and not for anyone else.

:offtopic: but I always wondered that....why is it that men have stalls out in the open anyway?? I asked my husband this and he likes being in a stall actually. He finds the 'pee trough' to be icky, especially at baseball games and such.

Wow, Quick to judge! We laid long stips of paper towel down on the floor first! And my child got to learn a lesson about helping others. To each their own!:thumbsup2

I 100%Agree with everything you said, and Disney is not exempt from pedophiles...in fact my old neighbor is police officer down in Orlando, and he told me pedophiles LOVE going to places like themeparks.Plus, Disney has had problems with its own employees involved in pedophilia and child porn,so it can truly occur anywhere including the "happiest place on earth" as a whole, I think we get for to jacked about restrooms in this country.I have no problem whatsoever with boys in the girls room and girls in the boys room if need be.Most people are only there for a bio-dump:rotfl2:
