LitterMaid?

Does anyone have one of these for their cat? If so waht is you opinion of it and do you recommend it. Also which model is better? Thanks!

My cat had one, but it broke, so we are back to the standard box for a while.

When they got adjusted to it (my fraidy cat, Diana, was convinced it was out to get her!), it worked great. And kept the litter clean.

I saw the "elite" edition in a magazine, but still haven't gotten around to pricing it.

I've had 2 and they both broke. The first was the regular size and the second was the mega.

IMO, I think they're a waste of time, you mind as well just scoop it yourself b/c it gets stuck on the rake anyway.

We have Littermaid Plus. I know they have numbers too but I can't find one on ours. It is WONDERFUL. We have two adult cats and I have to change the holding box about every three days. I also have to scoop the litter at that time since there are sometimes stuff left in the box. You still have a little care to it but not as much as a regular litter box. One thing I do though is instead of taking the holding box out each time and replacing it, I put a walmart bag in it and just pull that out instead. Those boxes can get pretty expensive. We also bought the tent that goes around it. It definitely cuts down on odors.
We got ours when we first bought our kittens and it stopped working after 6 months. I called the company and they sent us a brand new one. It has been working great now for about a year and a half.

We have the smaller size, and it works pretty well. A good-quality clumping litter is essential, or else the rake will break the clumps in two. We use the rather arrogantly named "World's Best Cat Litter" which clumps extremely well and has the added advantage of being corn-based so there is no clay dust. (It also has the disadvantage of being edible. Yeah, I'm talking to you, Toby!)

The main advantage is that the litterbox stays clean with only one daily tending, and also that the smelliest deposits are put away even when you can't get to them. It has worked without a problem for three years.
