Is a lot this out of Disney’s control? Yes. Could this be handled a lot better? Yes. And, yes, it’s a choice to go/not go, but it doesn’t excuse how this is being handled.

I think because many of these June cancellations are previously cancelled reservations that were rebooked that those people deserved better from Disney than having to hear about cancellations on a fan blog.

For someone like me, who had this trip planned way before any of this began, it’s not a big deal, I’m already over it and looking at rescheduling in July or August. But for the people they purposely gave incentive to rebook in June because they had their trip cancelled, it’s a little messed up

My June 24th-July 1st is still showing. Staying at Contemporary Club Level

It's not that you booked through a TA, it's what you booked. Some agencies run "specials" that will get you a cheaper rate than booking with Disney and some of those groups for the month of June were cancelled by Disney a few days ago.
Gotcha. We just moved our existing May ressie to June 1 when they announced the free dining offer.

I am 6/16 - 6/20, I guess I would expect a cancellation e-mail in a week. Even if they are open, I am pretty sure I don't want to be there week 1 or 2. If I was going solo, or if I lived local, sure. But as a family vacation, nope.

But they are now officially not offering ANYTHING (besides full refund) to people's reservations that are being cancelled? That stinks. I thought for sure they would come out with a new "come back later" promo for those cancelled in June. Doesn't need to be free dining, just a "keep your existing price" or "have a Disney Gift card for your future trip" would be a nice gesture.
I’m not surprised, I think it was a major mistake to encourage people to rebook this early with a promo. I’m booked June 12-16 and it’s so sad to see a third Disney trip disappear.

Just got off the phone with Disney. We had a trip cancelled in March and rescheduled for 6/5-6/12 with the free dining. Got the cancellation email this morning. The CM said I could modify my dates in June but we would lose the free dining. I also had a backup reservation for late July and I asked if I could just transfer everything over to that including the free dining and she said no. So basically no matter what I did we would lose the free dining. This was supposed to be my twin daughters graduation trip and they have now lost this along with everything else from their senior year. The fact that they would not honor the free dining promotion really annoyed me considering this was our second cancellation, so I cancelled both reservations and am moving on. We will find somewhere else to spend our money this summer and will think hard about whether or not to reschedule for next spring break.

It sucks big time. Just remind yourself that it is very likely to be a different WDW when they reopen and you might not have the fun you thought you would.

I have a room only reservation at the Yacht Club June 6-9 and received cancellation email this morning.
I am new to this board, so sorry if I missed others. But what exactly does the cancellation email look like/say? Does it actually cancel it, or say your reservation may be impacted?

Curious- my mother in law just said she read somewhere(couldn’t remember where) that they were going to open starting at 30% and telling you which park to go to- NO idea where she got it or if true. Is it possible they are keeping certain reservations in June, like first booked or something?

So they were going to let you modify your dates to another date in June but at full price?

WDW resort days canceled: June 1-4
How did WDW inform you of this cancellation: Email (still showing on MDE & online)
What resort: All Star Movies
What room level/view (club, standard, pool, etc): Preferred
How you paid (Cash or DVC): Cash
What state do you live in...according to your MDX profile: MI

Playing around a bit with amending the rez and it is showing ASMovies, Campsites, and Villas @ Grand Floridian as the only options for those dates. So I am guessing ASM just because it is the current room booked. Might be more insight on the Monorail/MK resorts opening first.

I am going to cancel so my refund can hit sooner rather than later but found it interesting playing around a bit to see what it would/wouldn't allow me to do/see.

I’m almost positive They’ll “make it right” with cancelled trip guests, especially those that had March-April-May trips cancelled and incentivized to rebook in June. They just don’t know what to do/offer right now because nothing is official until basically they open the gates and let people in.
They put themselves in a box with those offers as a quick PR fix, and it’s biting them now. I have confidence in Disney that in the end, they’ll make it up to people that were cancelled on
