I think they’re just waiting until they have a clear picture of what they can actually promise before handing out incentives. Last thing they want is to further dig themselves into a hole by making promises they don’t know they can keep. Once they feel comfortable enough with opening dates, they’ll offer something. I don’t care about free dining, but for the people twice, or thrice cancelled, they deserve something

I was surprised they handed out free dining in the first place. The intentions were good, but we don't even know what dining will be available when things do reopen or if they'd have enough capacity to honor all of that. With limited choices, no buffets, and no character interaction, it's probably not the best idea to give that away for a while.

None of them were listed. It just said my reservations were impacted
"Impacted"=cancelled. I'm sorry :(

I checked my last cancellation email for my May 25 and it doesn't list dates either, just that my reservations have been impacted and I can modify or cancel. You can call Disney to confirm though.

I think Disney realized that offering a free DINING promotion wasn't the smartest option considering that they may not be able to open all dining locations to full capacity. I wouldn't be surprised if we see another guest recovery offer that is either 1. discounted tickets or 2. room discount.

That’s what I’m thinking. They’ll make it up to cancelled guests, especially those that they had free dining incentives given to, but I think they’re going to offer something more concrete and not as easily “subject to change and availability” like dining is

Thanks for helping! Truly a bummer for all. :(

it was a rushed PR recovery act. I don’t blame them for trying, but it just wasn’t smart in a situation where there’s nothing guaranteed

Sorry if someone else posted this already; just saw in the AP Facebook group someone posted that their June 8-13 Beach Club res was cancelled. They are AP Florida residents.

Is it possible dining plans are not being offered till they figure out capacity limits on dining locations or something similarly related? It would be a real shame to not offer something to people who have been going through this difficult process more than once now.

From the email, it sounds like you have the opportunity to modify them yourself, before they cancel them.

Beach Club June 4-7th is cancelled.

I got the email but with no specifics and all of my reservations are still available for check-in on MDE and online. How do I confirm which reservations have been impacted?

1 night stay at POR June 1 (Cash)
5 night stay at Vero June 2-7 (DVC Rented)
4 night stay at POR June 7-11 (Cash)

So what happens for date based tickets? Do they just get moved to your new dates if you opt to modify?

If your dates are during the closure your ticket will automatically be extended to December 15, 2020. For dates after that you can use the cost of that ticket towards a new one.

For the people posting cancellations a reminder to please post enough info that gives the rest of us a clear picture.

Your check in date (check out is nice too)
Your resort & room type (still wondering if when they finally open if they will restrict cretin types of rooms)
If you are a cash room or DVC (DVC people please post your cancellations too!)
What state you live in (according to your MDE) so we can see if they are only canceling reservations from people out of state OR from high risk states.

If they are planning on offering a future incentive to those who have been canceled it would’ve done them well to have stated that somewhere even vaguely in the cancellation email. We should have been there today on our second day of our trip so all of this leaves a bad taste in my mouth I was lucky enough to be able to move my reservation to December because it was a room discount bounce back but I really feel for all the people who have been canceled with no other options except to pay more for less and still not be sure of their trip

I think the free dining or some other promotion will come back again for those who were canceled. They have to allow some flexibility for those double canceled.
What are the logistics behind that? If I cancel it’s over, I’m not going. If I move it to a later date is the idea they may send me a message saying we are throwing in quick service dining?

I have (had) a 1-8 June reservation so I got the email this morning, I also have a 4-12 July reservation I was hoping to keep and perhaps get lucky enough to throw that earlier free dining offer on (full rack rate for July right now).

I wouldn't be surprised if Disney realized they didn't NEED to offer anything. They've said before that they'll instantly hit whatever capacity they set as soon as they reopen, so there's no onus for them to offer incentives to bring people back. Why give something away if you don't have to?

I guess I'll go ahead and see what I can do about moving the family's reservation back. At least we didn't tell the kids about it, so they're not going to miss anything.

I'm sure they have a lot of reservations on the books, but I have a feeling that when they finally announce what operations and procedures look like they will see a lot of cancellations. We hear a lot on the boards that people don't want a half-Disney experience. I imagine a mass selection of the populous feels the same way.

Likely your June 1 at POR. I haven't seen anything posted about DVC cancellations for late May or June as of yet. Are they into June 7th or did they stop at June 6th for cash vacation start date cancellations?

I haven’t gotten an email yet b/c I am booked for 6/16-6/23. But i know logically, it’s coming. But I don’t want to change to different dates til I know 100% b/c these dates work best for us. I wish they would just make an announcement already. I really doubt they don’t know yet.

I wouldn’t change that reservation unless you need to. We know they’re getting closer to opening. It COULD be mid to late June that they reopen. We don’t know when they’ll open. It’s anyone’s guess at this point.

We have a cash split stay beginning June 5-13. I got the email too. I’m sure the email was for our first resort (AOA), but no doubt the closure will go through our entire stay. The email does not specifically list the resorts or the dates, so I’m assuming it’s for our early June trip. We have a backup trip with another split stay beginning June 28 that goes into July. I imagine that trip is not impacted yet, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets canceled in a few weeks. We’ve already been through all of this back in March, when our spring break trip was canceled. 😔
